THE WATCHER: REVOLUTION

Episode 5: Blind the Eye

---

The Core screamed.

Not with sound—but with static.

The very air pixelated, distorted, burned with corrupted data.

Jax's blade sliced into the first cable.

Sparks.

Blood.

Yes—blood.

The cables weren't wires. They were veins.

The Watchers weren't machines.

They were something far older—infested in the shell of technology.

---

Kira yelled, "JAX! It's alive! You'll trigger—"

Too late.

The second cord was cut.

The Core opened its eye.

Not the giant vertical one—but the inner eye behind it.

Black. Bleeding. Alive.

> "You dare sever sight?"

"Then you shall walk blind."

Jax stumbled back, eyes burning.

Darkness.

He screamed—because it wasn't just blindness.

It was void.

Like something had stolen his soul's vision.

---

He fell to the ground, twitching. Blood poured from his ears now. His pupils turned to static.

"JAX!" Kira ran to him.

The Core's voice boomed, now with ten thousand echoes:

> "Subject unstable."

"Initiate rewrite protocol."

"Replace free will with obedience matrix."

The air shimmered.

Watchers dropped from the ceiling. Dozens. Tall, robed, faceless—each one dragging their own shadows like chains.

---

Kira activated her backup protocol.

She slammed her wrist device—a red symbol flared on her palm.

From her back—metal petals unfolded.

Wings.

Stolen tech.

She yanked Jax up.

"No one rewrites him," she hissed.

Then—

BOOM!

She launched upward as Watchers leapt.

---

As they shot through collapsing vents, Jax's body convulsed. He wasn't breathing.

Kira tore open a stim injector.

Stabbed it into his neck.

Nothing.

"Come on, dammit—Jax, don't leave me now."

She slammed his chest.

Once.

Twice.

Then—

He gasped.

Eyes wide.

But not the same.

---

His eyes weren't brown anymore.

They were glowing silver, burning like static lightning.

"You saw too much," Kira whispered.

Jax sat up, shaking. "I didn't just see…"

He looked at her.

"I remembered things I never lived. I know how the Watchers were made. I know their code. Their sins."

Kira blinked. "You absorbed their archive?"

"No," Jax said, standing slowly.

"I became it."

---

Below them, the Core rebooted.

The Watchers turned in unison.

The system had changed.

Because now… it was afraid.

Afraid of him.

---

To be continued…
