Chapter 3 - CHAPTER THREE

Nine days later, Chris has been discharged but still insists on travelling to Joe's family but his parents remain adamant because of the past incident.

Daddy, but you promised to do anything I want.

Yes, I did, but not this time, replied his father.

After a series of deliberations and arguments, Chris finally went to Joe's and on the day he went by road and Chris carried the heavy bags into the car for he was to spend five weeks. He wore a cream coloured T-shirt and a black corduroy and a blue pure cap.

You look good. His mother complimented

Thank you, mom, he replied

When they got to Joe's house, the house was a mixture of beauty and atmospheric serenity. It was painted in pure grey with no other counterfeit colours, the gate was an electronic one which was controlled by a remote in the hand of the gate-keeper. The giant gate rolled away as they got to the gate and rolled back to place immediately they got in.

The nice serene atmosphere spilled into the house. Chris was the first to get out and knock the door, but no one heard until his father came and rung the door bell, then the door opened

They were welcomed by the fragrance of the air freshener and the nice aroma of the food, Madam Smith the cook was preparing in anticipation for Chris coming. The sitting room was a fairly large one with marble tiles glowing whenever the magnificent light emitting diode (LED) bulbs shined on it.

"Good afternoon ma" Chris greeted Joe's mum trying to be calm as he could because of the instructions his parents had given him before coming to Joe's house.

"Good afternoon my dear little Chris" Mrs. Agnes, Joe's mum answered.

Joe was engrossed in the game he was playing which was a football game named E-football with his headset on that he did not know anything going on around him.

"Joe!" Mrs. Agnes screamed.

"Ma'am!" Joe exclaimed as he jerked out of his game world and was surprised to see Chris Chris! You're here. He said Joe! I'm here. Chris replied Let's go in. Said Joe as he led the way to his room

Welcome to my humble room. Joe said to Chris immediately He got to his room

. Wow! So beautiful! Chris exclaimed as he stared at the room, which was tastefully furnished to any boy's taste.

Do you have a mobile phone? Joe asked Yes, I do. Chris replied That's good, and if I may ask do you have football games called like DLS, E-football, FC mobile, and so many more. No! I only have DLS and E-football. Said Chris That one alone is nice. Replied Joe.

During Chris' stay with Joe, they played different kinds of games both mobile games and non-mobile games and they even engaged in virtual reality that was recently bought for Joe by his father for also performing well in his entrance examination.

Chris was the first to wear the equipment he wore It on its head and he switched the equipment on and pressed some things. Suddenly as though real life, Chris found himself in a jungle. Scared, he took three shaky steps, then suddenly, about a hundred zombies or more appeared from nowhere and they began to stagger toward him and he found that there was a gun in his hand. Then he began to shoot them, but as time went on, the zombies began to get many and stronger, they refused to die and they staggered towards Chris. Two meters away from the zombies, Chris removed his equipment from his head and threw it on the bed painting "Feel my heartbeat." Chris told Joe. Okay, Joe said as he moved to Chris who was lying frightfully on the mattress and felt his heartbeat. "So fast!" Joe exclaimed. "I'm hungry, let's go out."

Chris exclaimed still shaking. Three weeks later, Chris' parents came to take him back home, but Chris and Joe were sober and wished they never let themselves, but Chris had to go. Then Chris and his parents left.
