Chapter 14 - The Fall of Craterhold

The sky cracked open like a dying beast's mouth.

Smoke and ash blotted out the sun as the Vatican's ultimate weapon — The Seraph Chimera — descended onto Craterhold like a living nightmare.

Its body was a grotesque fusion: the wings of a fallen angel, the claws of a demon, and the armor of a paladin saint. Its eyes blazed with holy fire and unholy rage.

The monastery's defenders trembled.

Ren clenched his sword tighter, feeling the wind's sorrow swirl around him.

"This thing... It's a godless abomination."

Amid the chaos, Daiki found himself cornered by a squad of Judicators.

Their blades glimmered with sacred light, their chants piercing his ears.

He smiled bitterly.

"Time to unleash the earth's wrath."

Slamming his fists into the ground, he called forth an ancient power buried deep within him — the Titan's Wrath.

The earth shattered, and huge stone golems erupted, smashing through the enemy ranks.

But with every pound of his fists, a sharp pain stabbed his chest.

A burning mark, glowing dark red, spread across his skin.

The Ministry warned me about this, he thought. The power comes with a curse.

Still, Daiki roared, "If I have to burn to ashes to protect my brothers, then so be it!"

While the battle raged, Haru's eyes glowed brighter.

The visions became clearer.

The traitor wears the cloth of loyalty but feeds the venom of envy.

His gaze fell on Ruth, who was frantically coordinating the Sanctuary's defenses.

"Ruth…" Haru whispered, approaching her cautiously.

She smiled tiredly.

"Every moment counts, Haru. The Vatican won't stop until this place is dust."

He hesitated.

Could she really be the traitor?

Before he could speak, a blast tore through the wall behind them.

Ren vs. The Seraph Chimera

Ren darted forward, wind lashing like blades.

The Chimera roared, slashing its claws.

They collided in a storm of fury.

Ren's sword danced in sync with the wind — slashing, slicing, evading.

But the Chimera was no ordinary foe.

It shifted form mid-fight, sprouting new limbs, its fire turning into liquid flame that sizzled the air.

Ren's eyes burned with desperation.

This is no longer a fight for survival. This is a fight for humanity.

With a scream, he summoned a tornado that enveloped the Chimera — but the beast shattered the winds like glass.

Meanwhile, deep in the Sanctuary's archives, Sister Ruth accessed forbidden texts — ancient scrolls describing the true origins of the Four.

The Ministry had sworn to protect them, but at a terrible cost.

The boys were vessels — living prisons for powers beyond comprehension.

And the Vatican, jealous and fearful, sought to control or destroy what they could not command.

Ruth's hand trembled as she read a prophecy:

When the Key claims the crown, the world will burn in holy and unholy fire.

Icarus's Awakening — Blood and Crown

Back in the Forbidden Chamber, Icarus held the crown.

It fused with his blood, flowing into his veins like liquid fire.

His vision exploded — showing him centuries of war, betrayal, and sacrifice.

He saw the Ministry and Vatican's bitter rivalry.

He saw the demons clawing at the gates of reality.

And he saw his own destiny — a path lined with destruction and salvation.

He screamed, half in pain, half in power.

The crown is not just a weapon... it's a curse and a key.

The Sanctuary Falls

Outside, the battle tipped.

Daiki's body shook violently under the Titan's Wrath's strain.

Ren was forced back, bleeding.

Haru, eyes glowing, dashed through the battlefield, shouting.

"Brothers! We have to retreat!"

But it was too late.

The Seraph Chimera unleashed a devastating blast, toppling the ancient gates.

Vatican forces flooded in.

The Four, battered and broken, stood before the ruins of their home.

Ruth's betrayal became clear — she vanished into the chaos, a shadow with secrets darker than the night.

Icarus, now partly fused with the crown, glared into the distance.

"This war... is just beginning."
