It was the time of Suhani's step into a higher standard ( starting of 9th standard )
The school bell pierced the air, a welcome respite. Suhani grabbed her bagpacks and headed out.
In the corridors, familiar faces greeted her. Khushi malik, her sole confidante, waited by the lockers, a concerned expression etched on her face.
"Hey, Suhani! What's wrong?" Khushi asked, noticing Suhani's subdued demeanor.
Suhani shrugged, attempting to brush it off. "Nothing khushi."
Khushi's eyes narrowed. "Don't give me that, Suhani. I know you too well. You've been distant since morning."
Suhani sighed, her shoulders sagging. "It's just... Lakshay. He's being his usual annoying self."
Khushi nodded sympathetically. "I know how that feels. But there's more to it, isn't there?"
Suhani hesitated, unsure how much to reveal. Khushi's genuine concern softened her reserve.
"Family stress, khushi. Mom and Dad are always on my case. And lakshay... He doesn't get it.. He never stands by my side.." Suhani said..
Khushi's expression turned understanding. "You are not alone, suhani. I'm here for you."
As they walked to the class Suhani felt a weight lift. Sharing her burdens with khushi always brought relief.
Their conversation was interrupted by the teacher's arrival. Suhani took her seat, her gaze drifting towards section B.
The teacher started to explain about the chapters but Suhani and khushi didn't wanted to listen to the teacher's words. Khushi made Suhani laugh so that she can forget her sorrows for a while. Bell rings.
Science teacher came, she called suhani and told her to bring her book from section B. That's when she saw him - Anshu prasad, the so called backbencher of section B.
