Chapter 5 - Douluo: Protect Our Spirit Hall [5]

As dusk settled, two hours had already passed since Bibi Dong entered her cultivation state. She had become deeply engrossed in the process and didn't want to exit her meditation, not even for mealtime. She hated wasting time.

Once a soul master begins cultivating, it's typically uninterrupted—and for someone as obsessed with cultivation as Bibi Dong, this was even more true.

At one point, Yue Guan brought food, but Bibi Dong remained unresponsive, entirely immersed in her cultivation. Yue Guan, already used to this, didn't disturb her.

Ye Qifeng also showed no signs of waking up.

The Night Passed Quickly

Morning.

Sunlight streamed through the windows of the carriage.

Though it didn't pierce the curtains completely, the carriage interior instantly became brighter.

Ye Qifeng slowly awoke from his sleep.

Rubbing his sleepy eyes, he discovered that he was nestled in Bibi Dong's arms.

She was still deep in cultivation.

Lifting his gaze slightly, Ye Qifeng noticed a faint purple mist swirling gently around Bibi Dong. It lingered in the air without dispersing, giving her an almost ethereal quality.

Bathed in the morning light, she looked sacred and noble—so much so that it inspired an urge to worship.

Not long after—

Bibi Dong finally emerged from her meditation.

Her rosy lips parted slightly as she exhaled a breath of turbid air.

"This cultivation state feels amazing."

She murmured in satisfaction, clearly reluctant to leave the sensation behind.

Just as she was about to stretch, she suddenly felt a weight in her arms and realized she was still holding a little one.

Turning her elegant violet eyes downward, she saw that the child had already woken up at some point. Those big, dark eyes were fixed on her, filled with curiosity.

"Little one, when did you wake up? So obedient—not crying or fussing."

Bibi Dong, clearly impressed by how well-behaved the child was, reached out to gently pinch his cheeks.

"I'm hungry,"

Ye Qifeng babbled softly, not resisting her affection. He knew she couldn't understand his baby talk anyway.

So, under her gaze, he patted his stomach to indicate his meaning.

"You're hungry?"

Bibi Dong paused, but quickly inferred his intent. "Then let's get something to eat. I'm hungry too."

A Few Days Later

The Wuhun Hall caravan had traveled several hundred kilometers from Wuye City.

Inside the carriage—

Bibi Dong was seated cross-legged in meditation, still holding baby Ye Qifeng in her arms.

This time, the purple soul power surrounding her was no longer a faint mist. It had become highly condensed, deep in color and incredibly vibrant.

The energy danced and swirled around her, sometimes forming petals above her head. Even the atmosphere around the carriage had become unpredictable and charged.

At the front of the caravan, Yue Guan—driving the carriage—sensed the growing fluctuations of soul power.

Suddenly, his expression changed drastically.

"Not good! She's breaking through now?!"

Having been at the Titled Douluo level for many years, he immediately recognized the signs of an impending breakthrough.

"Stop the carriage! On high alert!"

Yue Guan reined in the horses and used his soul power to transmit a message to the team, urgently issuing commands. He was terrified that any disturbance might interrupt the Saintess's breakthrough.

Leaping from the carriage, he landed on a large roadside boulder. With sharp eyes scanning the surroundings, his soul power surged as he stood ready to fend off any intruders.

The rest of the guards, seeing Elder Chrysanthemum suddenly act like an enemy force was approaching, assumed they were under attack. Weapons drawn, they quickly took defensive positions.

Breakthroughs to the Titled Douluo level often caused dramatic phenomena and were extremely sensitive to interruption. Typically, a soul master would either have a protector or seek out a secluded place to advance quietly.

Yue Guan himself had broken through under the protection of senior members of the Wuhun Hall.

But for the Saintess, Bibi Dong, to suddenly advance during a routine journey—this was a first.

Thankfully, the area was remote. If this had happened near a major power's territory, it could have been extremely dangerous.

Inside the carriage—

Bibi Dong was now levitating above her seat, eyes closed.

Her soul power had become even more refined. A tremendous surge of purple energy burst forth, forming violent currents of wind around the carriage.

The surrounding air began to twist, and clouds rapidly gathered in the sky above.

Before long, the entire carriage was engulfed in a thick blanket of dark clouds.

"What's going on?"

The enforcement team, now visibly tense, remained silent but alert. Though anxious, they kept to their posts, gripping their weapons tighter.

Despite their fear, none backed down.

Ye Qifeng was startled awake, eyes wide as he observed the strange transformations around him.

"This is…?"He quickly realized that Bibi Dong was the source of all this."Is she breaking through? Why is it causing such a huge commotion?"

"Break!"

Suddenly, Bibi Dong's eyes snapped open, and she shouted.

The purple soul power around her erupted like a beam of light, blasting through the roof of the carriage.

BOOM—the roof flew off and landed nearby, raising a cloud of dust.

Seeing the dust spreading toward the carriage, Yue Guan waved his hand and dispersed it.

Back inside—

An overwhelming aura belonging to a Titled Douluo began to radiate from Bibi Dong.

She had successfully broken through to level 90—stepping into the realm of Titled Douluo.

All she needed now was one more soul ring to become a true Titled Douluo.

As her soul power gradually stabilized, Bibi Dong slowly descended back onto the seat.

"I did it! I've broken through!"

Overjoyed, she hugged Ye Qifeng tightly and jumped to her feet.

Looking at the child in her arms, her face lit up with a wide smile. She planted a loud kiss on his cheek.

"Little one, it's all thanks to you!"

"Ah—"

Ye Qifeng didn't even process what she meant by that. The sudden kiss had caught him completely off guard, making his heart skip a beat.

Though he looked like an infant, his soul was that of a grown man.

"H-Hey! If you kiss me, you have to take responsibility, you know!"

Ye Qifeng blinked and babbled in protest.

"Saintess, you've succeeded in breaking through?"

At that moment, Yue Guan approached the carriage, clearly having sensed the end of the breakthrough.

"Yes, I was lucky."

Bibi Dong, now composed, stepped out of the carriage with Ye Qifeng in her arms. Though she still wore her usual proud expression, her tone had softened considerably.

"Congratulations, Saintess, on advancing to Titled Douluo!"

Yue Guan bowed deeply and offered his sincere congratulations.

"To think she reached Titled Douluo at just thirty-five years old, and she's a twin spirit user too. Her talent is terrifying. Her future... limitless. I must never offend her,"Yue Guan silently noted to himself.

The enforcement team, hearing the news, finally understood the cause of all the earlier phenomena.

"Congratulations, Saintess, on reaching the Titled Douluo level!"

Their astonishment turned to awe, and they dropped to their knees in unison, cheering loudly.

To witness the Saintess advance to Titled Douluo with their own eyes—it was an honor they'd never forget.

For a moment, many of them felt as if they themselves had leveled up.

"Rise."

Bibi Dong, now embodying her sacred dignity, addressed the entire team.

"For your loyal service and protection, every member will receive a reward. Elder Chrysanthemum, please record the names of all team members and submit the request for commendations."

"Thank you, Saintess!"

The enforcement officers' eyes sparkled as they responded with resounding gratitude.
