Chapter 23 - End of Coass-Teacher’s Talent Demonstration

End of Class — Teacher's Talent Demonstration

The room settled again as Ms. Kirei walked to the front, sensing the energy in the room. Her heels tapped softly against the floor as she turned to face the class, folding her arms.

"You've all heard stories," she said. "Yellow-level talents that bend elements, Blue-level talents that tear down mountains. But how many of you have actually seen a Talent in action?"

A few students raised their hands — mostly from noble families.

Ms. Kirei gave a faint smile. "Well, you're about to."

She raised her left hand. Slowly, the room's air shimmered faintly, and a dull hum filled the space.

A chalkboard eraser on her desk began to float — not quickly, but controlled and steady. Then another object, a chair, slowly lifted as well. Not violently, but as if carried by an invisible force.

"This is my Talent," she said calmly. "Green-level. Gravitic Shift. I can control the gravitational field in a small radius around my body. Lift, drop, shift weight, even pin someone to the ground… temporarily."

Aiden's eyes sharpened. He could see the glow of her aura — subtle, greenish-white.

Reno whispered, "Wait, you can fly with that?"

Ms. Kirei laughed. "No. I'm not strong enough to negate my own gravity entirely. But I can fall slower, or make things land softly instead of crashing."

She lowered her hand, and the chair floated gently back to the floor.

"Useful in battle?" she continued. "Only with good timing. Useful in rescue or terrain survival? Incredibly."

Kai raised his hand. "So… is that why you're a teacher instead of a Trainer?"

She didn't look offended. "No. I battled once. I've fought in two dungeons. I retired after a teammate died — his Talent couldn't protect him from what was inside."

The classroom fell silent.

Aiden frowned slightly. He appreciated the honesty. Too many adults tried to hide the cost of power from kids.

Ms. Kirei softened her tone.

"Green-level Talents can save lives. Don't dismiss them just because they're not flashy. Every Talent has a role — just like every Pokémon, every person."

She turned back to the board and tapped it lightly.

"Now, for tomorrow, I want everyone to write a one-page paper — describe a hypothetical Talent you'd want, how you'd use it, and why it matters."

There was a groan from the class, but it was a light one. She smiled as the bell rang.

Scene Ends: After the Demonstration

As the students packed up, Aiden stayed back for a moment, quietly watching her.

For a second, he thought about asking her if she had ever seen a Blue level Talent up close — but he held back. He'd already seen worse.

And he'd be something more.

Much more.
