Chapter 36 - CHAPTER 36:Wedding Preparations and a Butterfly’s Blessing

The next day was our wedding shopping day. I woke up early, got ready, made breakfast for Lu, and headed to his hospital.

Lu was deeply focused in his cabin, so I peeked through the door quietly. Suddenly, a nurse behind me tapped my shoulder and asked, "You're Qin, right?"

I nodded. "Yeah~"

She smiled. "Oh~ you're Dr. Lu's girlfriend, aren't you?"

Blushing, I asked shyly, "How did you know?"

She chuckled. "One day, when I came to submit a report, I saw Dr. Lu kissing you. I closed the door silently and left."

I gasped in embarrassment and patted her shoulder while we both laughed.

Then she said, "I'll go in and let him know you're here. Come with me."

I nodded happily.

The nurse entered his cabin. "Dr. Lu, there's a patient waiting for you."

Confused, Lu replied, "But I just checked the appointment list. No one's scheduled at this time."

She grinned. "I don't know, Dr. Lu, but your patient has been waiting for a while."

Lu nodded and said, "Alright, let them in."

She turned and signaled to me. I popped my head in and called, "Doctor~"

Lu looked up and froze. He stood and walked toward me. "What are you doing here?"

I smiled playfully. "I heard the patient should come in… so here I am."

He chuckled, and I walked in and placed the breakfast on his desk.

Lu pulled out a chair for me, then sat beside me. I opened the box and handed it to him. He took a deep breath and said, "Ahh~ It's been years since I've had your cooking."

I blinked. "What do you mean years, Dr. Lu? I cooked for you just the day before yesterday!"

He laughed and picked up a spoon of rice. "Turn around for a second."

"What now?" I asked.

He suddenly fed me a spoonful. I blushed as he smiled sweetly.

He continued eating, and occasionally turned to feed me again.

After breakfast, I said, "Lu, let's go wedding shopping. I've planned everything! We have to choose the venue and buy our wedding outfits. Liang and Zhichen are in charge of decorations—they insisted on doing it themselves."

Lu nodded. "Okay, but first, finish eating."

I nodded and we finished up before heading out.

We visited a few wedding venues, but one caught both of our eyes. The entire place was covered in artificial flowers—it looked like we had stepped into a fairytale.

Lu glanced at me. "I like this one, Qin."

I turned and said, "I like it too, Lu."

Then Lu suddenly asked the owner, "Can we replace these artificial flowers with real ones?"

The owner replied, "Yes, of course."

Lu smiled with satisfaction. I didn't know he had asked that—I was still exploring the venue in awe.

After booking the venue, we went shopping for our wedding outfits.

Lu tried on several suits, finally settling on a light gray one with subtle floral prints. He came out, tapped me, and asked, "How do I look?"

I lit up. "Hey~ It's beautiful! It fits you perfectly."

Then it was my turn. I found my dress on the first try—a long cheongsam with delicate flower prints.

We paid for the outfits and returned to my house.

Lu said, "Qin, shopping's done. Invitations are printed. Tomorrow, we can start distributing them to our family and friends."

I nodded. "Lu, I want to visit my parents' grave tomorrow… with the invitation."

Lu gently placed his hand on my shoulder. "Then let's give the first invitation to your parents. After that, we can give it to everyone else."

I nodded tearfully. Lu wiped my tears and embraced me.
