Chapter 2 - chapter 2 -the system's spark

Shen yue took a deep breath and focused.

Let's try mentally calling the system again, he thought.

**System, open.**

To his surprise, a golden interface immediately appeared before him. It wasn't like the last time, when nothing happened. This time, it actually worked. He blinked.

"I actually thought it wouldn't work... but it's real," he muttered under his breath, stunned.

He scanned the details carefully.

"So, these are the talents I extracted on the battlefield…"

A high-level physique, a mid-grade bloodline, high cultivation talent, and various combat skills. A strong start. But the clone section was still locked. He guessed it was likely because his cultivation was uninitiated.

"System, hello?" he tried, hoping it would respond.

Silence.

He waited, but nothing came. It seemed like the system didn't offer vocal responses—at least not usually.

Still, something caught his attention.

"…Wait a second," he thought. "My Spirit stat—it was 0.8 before, right? But now it's 0.9."

That was definitely a change.

"System, why did my Spirit stat increase?"

This time, a mechanical message appeared on the panel:

**Due to the host's soul being replaced, there is a minor change in the spirit attribute.**

So it was because of the transmigration. His soul must be stronger than the original body's.

Curious, he tried another experiment. He mentally focused on **Iron Molting Physique**, and the interface shifted instantly.

**Iron Molting Physique**:

A high-grade physique, three times more durable and absorbent than a normal mortal body. Greatly enhances body cultivation speed and toughness.

So if he followed a body cultivation path, his speed would outclass most people with mortal physiques. That was a huge advantage.

He then thought about the **Flame Scorpion Bloodline**.

**Flame Scorpion Bloodline**:

A mid-tier beast bloodline. Provides slight affinity to fire and poison elements, derived from the Flame Scorpion clan.

His mind continued to move through each talent. **Mid-level comprehension** would improve his ability to learn techniques and comprehend cultivation manuals. **High-level cultivation talent** would accelerate his progress in any technique or realm.

It all sounded great, but the clone system still remained a mystery.

"How do I unlock the clones?" he asked mentally.

No answer came.

As expected.

While he was lost in thought, a knock came at the door, pulling him back to reality. The servant responsible for delivering meals had arrived. She left without a word after placing the tray inside.

Only then did Shen yue realize how hungry he was. The system's appearance had completely distracted him. He devoured the meal quickly, relishing every bite.

Finally full, he leaned back, content.

"For the first time since waking up, I feel alive again. Like this is all real…"

But then a wave of melancholy washed over him.

"How did I even die back there?" he wondered.

He recalled it clearly. Just a normal night. He had returned from a bar, gone straight to bed... and now he was here. Had he really died in his sleep? What about his parents? His fiancée?

They were preparing for marriage. And now... he was gone before they could even walk the aisle. A bitter smile appeared on his face.

"What a pathetic ending."

He shook his head and decided to check the memories of this body's original owner. As the fragments settled into place, he began to understand the young man's life.

His father had once been a respected mid-level Qi Absorption cultivator, a high-ranking soldier. Their family had lived comfortably in the outer city—at least by those standards.

But after the father's death in battle, everything collapsed. Greedy relatives tried to snatch the inheritance, but the mother stood firm, refusing to yield even a single coin. She had once been from the inner city, but due to crimes committed by her family, they were exiled to the outer region.

Without the father—their pillar—there was no income. And with war raging against the Barbarians, food became scarce. Prices soared. Their status dropped overnight.

Shen yue also had a younger sister, Shen ning , two years his junior. Sweet, shy, and obedient. They had shared a close bond, but after their father's death, she grew distant and quiet.

This body's original fate was grim. Forced into the battlefield as a disposable soldier, he had bled to death during a chaotic clash.

"Damn... you really got dealt a cruel hand," Shen Yue muttered.

He looked at the golden panel floating in front of him again. His fingers moved, but they passed right through it. Still untouchable. Still mysterious.

But something inside him had changed. He wasn't just a transmigrator anymore. He had a purpose, a system, and a second chance—one built on power, strategy.

And this time, he would rise from the ashes.
