Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Native Hunting Competition

When Koa got home with all of the stolen Devil Fruits he had taken from the King's vault, he immediately checked what kind of Devil Fruits they were. One of them caught his eye. According to the encyclopedia, it was a slug-like yokai with powers similar to the slug summon from the Naruto anime. It was the Mushi Mushi no Mi, Model: Namekujira.

Based on the description, its full Zoan transformation was a giant slug the size of a mountain, covered in slime that functioned similarly to the effects of the Sube Sube no Mi. The slime could also heal anyone it covered. Additionally, the user could split into thousands of independent slug clones of various sizes. Each clone shared the user's core consciousness and could communicate with the others, functioning similarly to a Den Den Mushi network.

As for its offensive capabilities, the user could turn the slime into a corrosive acid capable of melting a person on contact. Like other Mythical Zoan fruits, it also granted significant enhancements to the user's physical abilities.

"Maybe I should give this to Ivankov. I don't want the future to change too drastically. If Ivankov has this Devil Fruit, he could still heal Luffy in Impel Down—only with even greater abilities than the Horu Horu no Mi," Koa thought, considering the ripple effects of his actions. "I also don't want to take the Azure Dragon Devil Fruit, since it needs to be cloned for Momonosuke to receive a strong Devil Fruit."

Koa understood that altering key events in the timeline, especially during the pivotal God Valley incident, might endanger the future of the world.

"Luffy needs to defeat Kaido. That fight is necessary for his Devil Fruit to awaken. It also leads to Momonosuke getting the cloned Devil Fruit. I'll just find the original after Kaido dies in the future," he concluded.

He was cautious—perhaps overly so—but for good reason. He had plans to recruit Kuzan into his pirate crew someday. If that worked, Koa couldn't predict what kind of butterfly effect it would create.

Koa then devised a plan: Ivankov would receive the Mushi Mushi no Mi, Model: Namekujira, Kuma would still inherit the Paw Paw Fruit, and Ginny would be given one of the other Paramecia fruits he had stored. That fruit was the Fupu Fupu no Mi, which granted the ability to summon rings with functions similar to those seen in Sonic the Hedgehog. These rings could be used to teleport between two locations, as long as the user was familiar with the destination. Additionally, the rings could be formed into restraints, functioning similarly to the constructs created by Phastos in the MCU. The rings could also vary in size.

Koa waited patiently for the remaining days until the Celestials were scheduled to arrive. During that time, he noticed an increasing number of strangers docking across the island—Cipher Pol agents conducting early reconnaissance. Their objective was clear: ensure that no threats were hiding, waiting to ambush the Celestial Dragons. They also began installing what appeared to be Den Den Mushi that functioned as surveillance cameras. These would be used to record the atrocities committed by the Celestials, capturing the cruelty for the amusement of distant spectators who would laugh at the suffering of others.

Anticipating this development, Koa had already taken precautions. His house was rendered completely invisible, and all of his belongings—including the Devil Fruits he had collected—were securely buried beneath the soil on which his cabin stood. Koa himself focused on preparation, conserving energy, and resting in anticipation of the day that would change everything.

After seven days, the long-awaited moment arrived. Koa sensed the approach of multiple ships as Marines began to establish a perimeter at the shore, ensuring that no one could escape. Through his finely honed Observation Haki, he picked up on several auras that felt… wrong. They teetered between life and death, leaving Koa unsettled. Recognizing their unnatural presence, he immediately activated his invisibility and used his Devil Fruit abilities to conceal a specially prepared bag containing two of the seven Devil Fruits in his possession—those he had chosen to give to Ginny and Ivankov.

Koa arrived at the venue where the announcement ceremony was taking place. There, he witnessed a shocking scene: the King of God Valley was publicly executed by a man with a bizarre hairstyle. The crowd announced him as Saint Figarland Garling, and noted that he had been deducted 10,000 points for the act—something he clearly didn't care about.

'That's the father of Shanks and Shamrock… and the future member of the Five Elders. Incredibly cruel,' Koa thought as he listened to the Celestial Dragons openly speak of their sadism. They casually discussed the planned slaughter of the native citizens of God Valley, treating it like a sport. The citizens, on the other hand, looked desperate—horrified by the sudden fate that awaited them.

Then Koa saw another familiar figure: an old man with a cane—Saint Jaygarcia Saturn, one of the Five Elders and the first who would eventually die in the future, replaced by Garling. Koa quietly moved closer, ensuring he could eavesdrop on any conversations.

"Sir, we just received word—they've tracked down the child who tried to escape. It's the Buccaneer brat!" one of the Cipher Pol agents reported to Saturn, who barely reacted.

The moment Koa heard that, he instantly knew—it was Kuma.

Without hesitation, he turned to leave, activating his Chicken Talisman to lift off into the air and fly in Kuma's direction. As he took flight, Saturn's eyes suddenly darted toward the spot Koa had just occupied. A flicker of confusion crossed the elder's face, his instincts alerting him that something was off. But after a moment's pause, he dismissed the thought and turned his attention back to the gruesome "entertainment" in front of him.
