Nora's eyes widened as she looked around, it was as if the world had become much clearer suddenly, her eyes worked better. She had always had 20/20 vision in her previous life, but this was on a whole different level. Scanning the ground she could see individual blades of grass moving, and the slight delicate rustling of the bugs below.
Shaking her head slightly Nora looked towards her system, at the skill description
————————
Greater sight: Improves vision by 2 times, increases reaction speed by .5 times.
Active skill: slow down your surroundings by 2 times, increase reaction speed by 4 times
duration: 30 seconds
cooldown: 3 hours
————————
"What the heck? Isn't that like a lot of time for a cooldown??" Nora exclaimed in her mind. She had worked on some games in her previous life and this isn't how a balanced skill should be, only 30 seconds of a power up that she can use once every 3 hours was crazy in her eyes.
Shaking her head to clear her thoughts Nora looked back at her system interface for the next quest.

New quest: find shinies
description: as a crow, you like shiny things, and all good crows have a collection of objects. To start your collection of things, find something shiny.
Reward: Int +20, higher change of successful stealing(chances increased based on how valuable this shiny object is)
————————
'Right, normal crows like shiny things so obviously I need to get shiny things…. How do I get shiny things?' She thought, 'hmm perhaps I should go towards a river, that would probably be my best chance of finding something shiny ' Nora reasoned as she remembered how settlers in her old world would pan for gold in rivers, and how she had always found shiny rocks and bits of metal stuck in the rivers near her house.
It seemed like the best way to start at least.
Looking around she realized that she was still in a forest clearing and had no idea where a river was. In a stroke of genius Nora remembered she has ears, so she quickly decided to close her eyes temporarily and focus on her hearing to find a river.
After sitting in complete silence, she was barely able to pick up the faint sound of running water coming from her left.
'Perfect I think I found a river, or a stream, or something. I'll head towards that and hopefully find something shiny.' Nora spread her wings and flew towards the sound of rushing water that she had heard, and after a short flight she was able to find a medium sized river.
.
.
.
The river water was rushing past quickly and there were many large and jagged rocks poking out. Now that she was at the river she spent some time carefully combing the river bank for anything shiny.
'Does this work?' Nora thought, picking at a small piece of mica, looking over she saw no reaction coming from the system. 'Ok so it needs to be something actually substantial' Nora sighed. She was hoping that she would've been able to cheat the system a little bit.
As she was looking around some more a slight glint coming from deep inside the river caught her eye. 'Oooooh I think that looks like a coin!' Nora thought in excitement, 'no that's definitely a coin, I have to have it.' A slight possessiveness takes over Nora, she felt like she really needed that coin, and technically she did. She was sure that the system would accept that coin for her quest.
'I think I can swim… I'm a bird, some birds swim yeah?' she thought, reasoning out her plan. 'Yeah I can definitely swim towards that, I just need a few moments to prepare…'
After a few minutes trying to psych herself up she decided to simply go for it. She first moved farther up the river to account for the rushing of the water, then she took flight, getting into line with where she saw the coin. Then, she dived in.
Immediately after diving in, she felt the strong pull of the current, dragging her away, flapping her wings in an attempt to swim, she was rapidly approaching the coin.
Her vision was greatly reduced due to the water, and everything appeared blurry, she felt extremely disoriented in the rushing water, but the reflection off that coin kept her on track, all she focused on was her movement towards the coin.
As the water was moving her towards the coin something catches the corner of her eye, and she notices a lot of movement.
Looking over, Nora realized in horror that the large body of some kind of aquatic creature was coming right for her. It looked like a fish but Nora couldn't discern any of the details beyond that because of her limited eyesight.
'Oh shoot I may be in danger' Nora realized in a panic, 'but wait I just can't leave this coin here, I might not have another chance like this, I need to take it!' So Nora quickly moved her talons over the coin grabbing it just as the current swept her downstream. With the coin in hand(or rather, talon) she began to fumble her way towards land.
The coin made it even harder to swim, but with it in her claws she was determined to get out. Her fear gave her a boost, and she pushed her body to the limits to get out of this river as quickly as possible.
She could feel the eyes of the creature behind her and its presence getting closer as she tried desperately to swim towards the land.
She pushed herself as far as she could, dodging rocks and fast moving debris in the river. She felt the fish getting ever closer and the fear propelled her forward. Just as the fish was about to get her she managed to get to land.
Flopping onto land, coin in hand so to say, Nora panted heavily, the relief flooding her as she realized that she made it out of the river alive. The battle, however, was far from over.
The fish, apparently the stubborn type, didn't give up after Nora had gotten on land and decided to simply jump out after her. 'Oh shoot' Nora thought as adrenaline flooded her once again, 'I thought that fish couldn't get on land… uh-oh…'
The fish jumped onto land and its movement seemed to be severely reduced; this didn't stop it however, and it seemed to start using a form of water manipulation to get at Nora.
She widened her eyes in shock, but unlike before, she was now in an advantageous position because they were both on land.
'Perhaps I can use this opportunity to use my new abilities to take this fish' Nora, now determined, began to make a plan. 'I can't quite fly, I'm still wet from getting this coin, but even so, I'm confident that I can still disorient it and take it down!'
Nora quickly used her caw ability and right away she felt that the fish became slower, and it seemed to have a harder time keeping a proper eye on her.
During the window that the fish was disoriented Nora attacked, she hopped into a position right near his eyes and used her talents to scratch at the fish's eyes.
This was so surprisingly effective that she got a notification.
Ding!

Critical hit!
Enemy -40 health.
Inflicted blindness (permanent)
Inflicted bleeding(3 min 59 sec)

Looking at the status of the fish, Nora could see that it was now at 60 out of 100 health. Instantly Nora becomes filled with hope and she immediately moves to dismantle the fins and slash at the gills.
Since Nora just got a new skill recently, she decided to test it out. Activating her greater sight ability, she could clearly see all of the fish's next moves and was able to easily anticipate them and after only a few more seconds of fighting the fish was dead. 'Haha!' Nora exclaimed in shock. 'That was surprisingly easy.'
Looking at the now dead fish. 'Well it looks like I will be having sushi for dinner. This is perfect!' She quickly moved her talons in a way to dismantle all the scales on the fish.
Once the scales had been successfully removed she began to carve away pieces of its flesh to eat.
