Chapter 7 - Bloods Donor

"Grace, damn it! What did you just do?" Jackson's anger filled the room. The man banged on the bedroom door very loudly.

Grace woke up from her sleep. Her head felt very dizzy from being forced to get up. She rubbed her face, her forehead furrowed at Jackson's banging and calling from behind the door.

"What is it again this time?" Grace seemed to be asking herself. She got out of bed and went to the door.

When the door opened, a hard slap hit her cheek. Grace froze, staring at her husband questioningly. Since when had Jackson become so light-hearted? Why had he been so rude lately? All these questions consumed Grace's heart and mind. She rubbed the corner of her bleeding lip. Her cheeks looked bruised blue from Jackson's hard slap.

"Claire is so nice to you; why do you always target her for harm? You know I love Claire very much, and you intend to kill her? Where is your conscience?" Jackson immediately cursed with great emotion.

Grace stared in confusion, not understanding what Jackson was saying at all. After their fight this morning, she had been resting in her room all day. She wanted to recover her strength so that she could get back to work quickly tomorrow morning. She didn't know anything until Jackson came in raging.

"What are you talking about?" Grace asked with a furrowed brow. She seemed to have gone numb. She no longer felt the pain of everything Jackson had done to her. Her heart had died for Jackson. She chose to stay in their marriage only because she didn't want to be a burden on the Brown family again. If Shane and his parents knew what was happening to Grace right now, they would be furious and ask Grace to come back.

"Come with me to the hospital now!" Jackson gripped Grace's arm very hard. He pulled her forcefully, asking her to follow him.

"Let go, Jack. You're hurting me!" Grace tried to break Jackson's grip on her arm. The man gripped so roughly that Grace felt pain.

Jackson didn't want to hear anything. He kept dragging Grace outside, then pushed her roughly to get into the car.

"Can't you be a little gentle?" Grace protested.

"A rude woman like you doesn't deserve to be softened." Jackson replied coldly.

Grace was silent. She didn't know what she had done wrong, so Jackson always looked at her with hatred. Now that Claire was living with them, there should be no reason for Jackson to hate her. Grace no longer prevented the couple from being together. They should just reconcile.

The car started driving at high speed towards the hospital. There was no conversation between them the whole way. They were silent, trapped with the feelings of hatred in each other's hearts.

The car stopped when they arrived at their destination. Jackson took Grace straight to a doctor. He released his grip roughly.

"Just use her blood, Doc. Her blood type is the same as Claire's." Jackson said with firmness.

Grace looked up at Jackson after she heard that sentence. Her eyes widened; she did not expect at all that that was what Jackson had brought her there for.

"Are you crazy? You know I'm pregnant; pregnant women can't donate blood." Grace protested. Although the existence of her future baby was opposed by Jackson, she was determined to deliver the baby. That baby would be the only blood family she had.

"You knew you were pregnant, yet you planned to kill Claire." Jackson replied in an emphasized tone.

"What do you mean? I don't understand at all; you keep saying that I planned to kill Claire. What did I do to her?" Grace was visibly provoked. Her face was flushed with anger.

"You pushed Claire down the stairs, which left her in a very bad condition. She needs two bags of blood, and you have to make amends by becoming her donor." Jackson explained.

"When did I do that?" Grace wondered. As much as she hated Claire, it never crossed her mind to hurt that woman. She had a kind and gentle heart.

"Stop acting, Grace. Everyone already knows that you hate Claire with a passion." Jackson emphasized. He forced the doctor to take Grace's blood.

The doctor immediately obeyed Jackson's order. Her blood was taken immediately without checking whether her blood was suitable for Claire or not. Grace felt something was wrong. The doctor would never do a blood transfusion carelessly; there were many procedures that had to be done. Moreover, Grace was in a pregnant position; donating blood in such conditions could endanger her womb.

"Looks like it's Claire's doing." Grace commented. She did not know what Claire had done, but she knew that Claire was targeting her pregnancy. Grace's pregnancy had survived after Claire had given her an abortifacient. Now the woman was looking for other ways to further her intentions.

"You're right." The doctor responded to Grace's words. "Claire is actually fine. The wounds on her body are just an act. I don't even know if your blood is suitable for her or not. I will not give your blood to her but rather sell it to a patient in need."

Grace, who heard that sentence, was not so surprised; she had guessed that the doctor was indeed in cahoots with Claire.

"Damn it, I'm going to tell Jackson about the crime you've committed. You knew I was pregnant, and you still took my blood. Do you know that your actions violate a doctor's code of ethics?" Grace looked very angry.

The doctor laughed slightly at Grace's threat. "Do you think Jackson will believe what you say? For all I know, he'll only believe what his girlfriend says."

Grace grew more and more angry at that sentence. She clenched her fists violently, her jaw hardened, her face flushed. She was really angry because Claire had gone too far this time.

"I won't let you hurt my future baby." Grace said with emphasis.
