Chapter 36 - Entering The Prison

When the group reached the top, Michelle looked at the ground below. "My air jets can slow down the fall," she said before turning her head to the other toys. "The others, however..."

Michelle turned her head to CatNap. "I'd hate to ask you this again, but would it be alright if the others ride on your back again?" she asked. CatNap nodded before lying on the ground. "CLIMB ON..." he said.

After Michelle helped the smaller toys get on CatNap's back, she twisted the knob, switching from the orange hand to the purple hand. Michelle approached the ledge. "Now we can go," she said before jumping down, which caused the air jets to activate.

Soon after, Michelle landed on the ground and walked forward. CatNap and DogDay jumped down while PJ Pug-A-Pillar climbed on the wall. When Michelle spotted a bounce pad, she sprinted forward before pulling the right trigger, launching herself to the other side.

When Michelle landed on the ground, she spotted a bounce pad and approached it before pulling the right trigger, launching herself to the other side. When Michelle landed on the ground, she saw a beam between two platforms.

Michelle carefully walked on the beam before she reached the other side. When Michelle looked up, she saw a handle before pulling the left trigger. The blue hand grabbed the handle before Michelle sprinted forward and jumped.

As Michelle swung herself to the other side, she let the blue hand go before she landed on the ground. When Michelle stood properly, she saw a train. "That's our ticket to the prison," she said before walking forward.

As the toys landed on the ground, the phone started ringing, which made Michelle grab it off the hook and hold it out. "Hey, it's me again, Ollie," Ollie said. "I wanted to... I wanted to talk to you. Before you go inside, I mean."

Michelle stared at the phone. "Go on," she said. "Everything you've seen out here... the piles... the dead... they ALL came from inside," Ollie said. "Believe me, everything Poppy said about this place is true. It's Hell..."

Michelle remained silent and looked down. "But she also hasn't seen it like I have. It's worse now, worse than ever..." Ollie continued. "Just try to stay safe. Please... don't let your guard down for a second... I'll try to help you when I can."

When the call ended, Michelle stared at the phone with a stoic face. DogDay looked at Michelle, concerned. "Misha?" he asked.

Michelle flinched a bit before shaking her head and hanging the phone on one of the hooks. "Sorry about that..." she said. "We need to get this train powered up."

As the others got off CatNap, Michelle turned her head to the right and froze when she saw a corpse lying next to a door and a note beside it. Michelle closed her eyes and took a deep breath before exhaling.

Soon after, Michelle opened her eyes and approached the note; when she was close, she picked it up and read it. "What does it say?" DogDay asked.

Michelle remained silent before turning to DogDay. "She refused to eat them," she said. "The corpses... it also says that she has the key to prevent us from going inside."

Michelle looked at an open cell hanging above them from a crane. "Something tells me she's up there," she continued before approaching the closest cell. "I need to get up there."

DogDay nodded as he followed behind Michelle; when they were close, she was silent and looked down. DogDay looked at Michelle, concerned. "Misha?" he asked.

Soon after, Michelle turned her head to DogDay. "Do you... do you know if there's a blanket around here somewhere?" DogDay looked at Michelle with somber eyes before looking around.

Soon after, DogDay spotted a large gray blanket on top of a barrel before approaching it. After DogDay grabbed the blanket, he quickly approached Michelle and held it out. "Here..." he said, lowly.

Michelle grabbed the blanket. "Thank you..." she said, lowly. DogDay nodded as he picked Michelle up and placed her on top of the cell. When Michelle was close to the open cell, she entered it.

When Micelle turned the corner, she saw a decaying Kissy Missy toy. "Riley..." she said, lowly. Michelle spotted the key in Riley's ribcage before carefully grabbing it. After Michelle hung the key on one of the hooks, she looked at Riley before covering the blanket over her.

Michelle placed her hands together and closed her eyes. "If there is a God... please guide this innocent soul back to your arms, and may she finally rest in peace..." she said, lowly.

After Michelle undid her hands, she walked toward the opening and exited the cell. "I'm back..." she said, lowly. DogDay looked at Michelle. "Did you find—" he stopped mid-sentence when he saw tears pricking her eyes, "Ah... I see..."

Michelle quickly wiped her tears away with her arm. "I'll be fine..." she said before jumping down. "I got the key." When Michelle approached the door, she unlocked the door and opened it.

Michelle looked around and saw a power outlet near a TV with a gray VHS player under it. Michelle turned her head to the right and saw a gray VHS tape on a shelf, which prompted her to approach it. Michelle grabbed the tape before approaching the TV.

After Michelle inserted the tape into the player, she looked at the screen. "Hey, Cole," a young security guard said. "Hey, Norm," a middle-aged security guard said. "Two o'clock, huh? Best time of the day." Norm said. "Yeah..." Cole said, lowly.

"So, uh, what block are you again?" Norm asked. "North," Cole said. "Can't say I hear much about that one," Norm said. Michelle heard Cole huff. "You wouldn't," he said. "High security?" Norm asked. "HIGHEST security," Cole said.

Michelle heard Norm click his tongue. "Cushy..." he said, lowly. "Know what we get in the East? Toys banging on the walls, crying for their parents, their counselors, whatever."

Michelle gritted her teeth and clenched her fists. "It goes ALL day and night... and it just wears on ya, ya know? I'd KILL for a little security... and quiet," Norm continued.

Michelle heard Cole huff. "Right... know what we get in the North? Things... whatever they are, they aren't people anymore. Their cells might as well be cages," he said. "They're animals... sick... twisted... just instincts and anger."

Michelle heard Cole sigh. "That's all that's left of them," he continued. "Sure, but at least then it's not like yelling at your own kids for them to be quiet, though, ya know. I mean, if you had to listen to them—" Michelle heard screeching in the background and alarms. "Oh great..."

Cole sighed. "So much for our two o'clock," he said. "Yeah, we really do have it rough, don't we?" Norm asked rhetorically. When the video ended, Michelle's blood boiled. "You two... having it rough..." she said, lowly.

Michelle glared at the TV. "You fuckers don't have it near as rough as the children who were turned into these monsters because of the company you work for?!" she shouted.

Michelle grabbed the TV and pulled out the cord. "You bastards deserve to burn in Hell?!" she shouted before throwing it at the glass, which shattered and hit the corpse's head. The toys looked at the broken window, shocked as the TV crushed the corpse's head.

The toys looked at Michelle as she tried to catch her breath. When Michelle looked at the other toys, she froze and turned her head away. "Sorry... what I saw really made me angry..." she said, lowly. Michelle looked at the power outlet before pulling the right trigger.

The purple hand touched the output unit, which lit the cables. "I remember seeing electric poles around the area," she said before leaving the room.

After Michelle wrapped the cable around the poles, she spotted the input unit on the train and aimed the blue hand before pulling the left trigger.

The blue hand touched the input unit, which started the train and opened two cells. Michelle retracted both hands and looked at the cells. "Not all of us are gonna fit in one cell," she said. "We'll need to separate the groups."

DogDay nodded and looked at CatNap. "You take CatNap; I'll take care of the smaller toys," he said. Michelle looked at DogDay, surprised. "Are you serious?" she asked.

DogDay nodded. "I trust him to keep you safe," he said. "And I'll make sure the smaller toys are safe and sound." Michelle stared at DogDay before nodding. "Very well," she said.

CatNap stood beside Michelle and looked at DogDay. "STAY SAFE..." he said, lowly. DogDay nodded. "Likewise," he said; Bunzo Bunny looked at Michelle. "You stay safe too, Big Sis," he said.

Michelle smiled and nodded before the groups entered the cells. Soon after, the cell closed behind the duo before the train started moving. Michelle turned her flashlight on and looked around the room. "Just your typical cell..." she said, lowly.

The duo heard static, which shocked them and made them look at the TV. Soon after, the duo saw an eye surrounded by static. "Now what do we have here...?" a male British voice asked.

CatNap growled with his ears pointed back. "I'm guessing you're the Doctor I've been hearing about," Michelle said.

The Doctor eyed Michelle. "And you must be the annoying germ 1006 spoke of, squirming beneath my skin," he said. "But to think it would be one of the orphans from the different orphanage..."

The Doctor eyed CatNap. "And you brought 1188 with you as well; how interesting," he continued, which made him growl. The cell started shaking a bit, which made Michelle balance herself. "Well, little germ... let's make a game out of you..." the Doctor said.

Soon after, the cell started shaking roughly. "You've blundered along the shadows above and only managed to squirm all the way down here, but by the barest skin of your teeth," the Doctor continued.

Soon after, Michelle was in the air, which shocked her and CatNap. "There are no shadows here that would be of use to you. Not even the ground beneath your feet is yours," the Doctor continued. Soon after, Michelle hit the ground hard, which made her yelp. "ANGEL...!" CatNap shouted.

Michelle groaned, and her vision started getting blurry. "There are no places you can hide... not from me," the Doctor said. Michelle stared at the Doctor as he laughed before she fell into unconsciousness.
