Episode 32: The Memory Locked in Moonlight

The stone guardians remained kneeling, their giant heads bowed in reverence as if Juvia's very presence cleansed centuries of duty and darkness. Yet inside her, the glow of victory gave way to a rising tide of questions.

"Why me?" she whispered. "Why now?"

As if in answer, the Moonblade in her hand shimmered again—brighter, warmer, pulling her forward like a tether.

"Something's calling her," Luna murmured, stepping aside.

Ha-jun placed a protective hand on Juvia's shoulder. "We go together."

Juvia nodded. They stepped past the stone warriors into the inner chamber of the Forgotten Shrine. It was beautiful—ancient murals coated the walls, depicting a silver-haired woman wielding the same blade Juvia now held. At the center of the chamber stood a floating pool of moonlight, suspended in the air like liquid glass.

Juvia stepped closer, and the pool reacted to her presence, spinning and shifting until it mirrored her face. Then—her reflection blinked.

She gasped.

The reflection wasn't her.

It was a woman who looked just like her… but older, with sorrow in her eyes and blood on her hands.

"Who is she?" Juvia whispered.

Luna's voice was soft. "The First Moon Warrior. Your past self."

A cold tremor ran through Juvia's body. "You mean… I've lived before?"

Luna nodded. "Reincarnated through centuries. But only now has the Moon chosen to awaken your memory."

Before Juvia could respond, the pool of moonlight surged forward, engulfing her in glowing mist.

"Juvia!" Ha-jun reached for her, but Luna held him back. "Let it happen. She must see."

Inside the light, Juvia stood in a battlefield of ash. Screams echoed in the distance. Fires blazed across the horizon. She was no longer herself—she was the woman from the murals.

She clutched the Moonblade, its edge dripping with blood—not from enemies, but from allies.

"No…" the vision-Juvia cried. "This wasn't supposed to happen."

A man stood across from her—his features hidden in shadow. His eyes, however, burned like dying suns.

"You betrayed the moon," he snarled.

"No," she whispered. "I did what I had to."

He raised a dark blade—and in a blink, it struck her through the heart.

The memory shattered.

Juvia collapsed on the chamber floor, gasping for breath, tears streaking her face.

Ha-jun rushed to her side, cradling her. "What happened? What did you see?"

She looked up at him, her eyes filled with a storm. "I was her. I was the Moon Warrior. And I made a mistake… a terrible mistake."

Luna stepped forward slowly. "What did you do?"

"I don't remember everything," Juvia said, struggling to her feet. "But I… killed someone. Someone I once loved."

The room fell silent.

Ha-jun's expression darkened, but he remained calm. "And now… you're afraid history will repeat itself."

Juvia looked at him, her voice barely a whisper. "What if I hurt you?"

He stepped closer, his voice low. "Then I'll fight to protect you—from enemies, from fate, and even from yourself. I'm not going anywhere."

She trembled, but his words steadied her heart.

Suddenly, a loud chime rang through the shrine.

The wall behind the moonlight pool opened, revealing a spiral staircase that led into darkness.

Luna's eyes widened. "The Hidden Sanctum… It's never opened before."

Juvia looked to Ha-jun, then down at the glowing blade in her hand.

"Then let's go," she said. "I need to know who I was—to become who I'm meant to be."
