Chapter 50: "The Demon Assassins: Trap for Paradise"
The Arcane Drifters HQ was glowing with life. The celebration for newly rising squads echoed through the main hall. Music, food, dancing. And in the middle of it—
Heavenly Paradise.
Laughing. Eating. Relaxed.
They had earned a moment of peace after multiple quests. Even Shen, usually alert, was teasing Ruke over spicy noodles. Eliz was telling jokes. Lilia was smiling shyly.
But beneath the lights… danger had already entered.
Among the partygoers were six silent guests. They wore drifter uniforms. They danced, raised cups, clapped. But inside? They were demon assassins, sent from the far edge of the Demon Realm.
> Their mission: Kill the rising squad known as Heavenly Paradise before they can awaken to MM-Class.

Shadow in the Party
Ruke (laughing):
"Bro, this place is awesome!"
Shen (grinning):
"See? I told you all—HQ parties hit different."
But behind the joy, one person wasn't celebrating.
Kenya Naro leaned quietly near the balcony, sipping from his cup.
His Supreme Fire Aura had caught something—demonic whispers, barely contained in mortal shells. They were hiding too well, even from Shen's Supreme Lord Eye.
But not from Kenya. Not from a true demon.
---
First Assassination Attempt – Foiled
Near the kitchen, one demon disguised as a friendly E-Class Drifter moved toward Eliz, slipping a thin poison needle from his sleeve. A crowd blocked the line of sight.
But then—FWOOM!
The air shimmered. A spark of fire flashed. The assassin's sleeve burst into flame—without sound, without smoke. He panicked and vanished into a corridor.
There, Kenya was waiting.
Kenya (coldly):
"You thought I wouldn't feel that?"
With one punch, burning with Demon Flame, Kenya disintegrated the assassin. No witnesses. No trace. One demon down—five remaining.
---
Invisible War
While Shen pulled out a speaker to start a dance battle, Kenya continued his quiet hunt. The party raged. Heavenly Paradise laughed, unaware.
Each demon tried to strike quietly:
One poisoned a drink.
One slipped a cursed talisman on Lilia's back.
One disguised as a waitress, held a blade near Ruke.
But before any plan succeeded—Kenya struck.
Each time, alone. Silent.
Each time, he erased the evidence without breaking the party atmosphere.
---
The Final One
In the darkest part of the garden, the demon leader stood. Hidden in human skin.
He prepared a black flame curse—powerful enough to burn everyone.
Then—a shadow stepped in front of him.
Kenya:
"Wrong place to play god, demon."
Demon Leader (shaking):
"Who are you? You're not human…"
Kenya (smiling slightly):
"I'm one of the Heavenly Paradise members."
Pause.
"And your executioner."
In an instant, the entire garden burst into silent flame. But nothing burned—only the demon vanished in ashes.
---
Back to the Party
Kenya walked back to the table.
Ruke:
"Yo, where were you?"
Kenya:
"Just cooling off."
Shen (laughing):
"Kenya's the quiet type, huh?"
All laughed again. The music rose. The party continued.
None of them knew…
They had nearly died that night.
And Kenya had saved them all—without a word.
As he stood quietly, Kenya looked at his hand and whispered:
> "Not yet. I'll protect them from the truth... until it's time."
