Chapter 4 - Chapter 4

||Rosie's POV||

As my eyes opened to the bright morning sun, a smile curled on my lips as memories of the beautiful s*x I shared with Damian flooded my mind.

He was so gentle and sweet that, I barely even remembered what Austin had done to me. The pain was still there somewhere in my heart but Damian stirred feelings and desires I didn't even realize I had.

All through the night, my voice had gone sore from screaming his name as he continuously made sweet love to me. I was almost tempted to live in this dream but I knew I had to wake up from that fantasy now.

I turned across the bed, hoping to find him somewhere watching me but I was disappointed to find him missing. Only a small piece of paper stared back at me on the spot where he should have been.

My heart skipped a beat as I quickly sat up and checked what was in it.

'You are mine,' the note said and for a second I could only stare at it as a longing smile danced on my lips.

I wished this was true. I wished it wasn't the alcohol that had pushed him to write it… I wished there could be more between me and him… but I had to snap myself out of it.

The rejection from Austin was enough for my mind to be on a constant reality check. I couldn't fool myself into thinking the future Alpha could ever want me.

Last night was crazy, painful but it wasn't entirely horrible. I still hated the fact that I slept with Austin but it wasn't all I would remember last night for.

Damian gave me a memory I would forever cherish. Rather than remember the humiliating way my mate had rejected me, I would remember how Damian kissed me … like he truly wanted me. I would remember the way he was so gentle with me… like I was the most important thing to him.

And this piece of paper was proof that it truly happened.

I hugged it to my chest and sighed. It was beautiful but I had to get back to reality.

I was certain that I couldn't forget what Austin did to me but I could only hope and pray to the moon goddess that we never crossed paths again.

Quickly, I picked up my dress and fixed up my appearance. I was just about leaving when a knock echoed on my door, right before it cracked open.

"Miss, may I please come in?" It was one of the men that had drugged me last night but his voice was calmer and… I could even say scared.

"Yes…" I whispered, unsure of what to expect.

"I am sorry for bothering you but as soon as the alpha's son left and we tried to check you in the registers, we realized we have made a big mistake..."

My brows instantly furrowed and the first thing that came to my mind was to scream at him that I had told them but I kept my composure and listened.

"We are so sorry for this… we also saw that you were the girl that had come with the future beta Austin. We really should have listened to you but… now it's too late. The deed is already done but—" His eyes met mine as he joined his hands together.

"We are ready to pay whatever you want so that this awful mistake can go under the carpet. Please, miss."

A scoff escaped my lips at his audacity. He wanted to buy my silence because I came in with Austin and slept with Damian, maybe if the men were not that influential, he wouldn't even be here.

He was just a cruel man that thought of greed more than anything else. If I was of any rank higher, I would have made sure they got punished but considering what I was, the money was the best I could even hope for.

"I want 50% of the earnings last night…" I said, watching how his eyes widened. "Austin, is my mate. So you better consider this a chance for your business. Are you agreeing to this or what?"

"Please, I have workers and the other girls to pay. How about a 15%?" The man dared to ask.

I simply shrugged. "30% and that will be in cash. Deal or no deal?"

Knowing I had him cornered, he had no other choice. "Deal."

I went with him down to the reception and he arranged the money for me. As soon as it was handed over to me, I got a taxi to a different location before taking the actual one to my house. Just in case they met Austin and somehow realized there was no one coming to fight for me.

||ONE MONTH LATER||

"You're pregnant, Rosie." The doctor's words echoed inside my head, long after I had hurriedly left the clinic.

I was dreading to hear that news, honestly I kind of knew because of how sick I was getting just a few weeks after that night— but I didn't want to accept it.

Yet now that the truth looked me in the eyes, I couldn't run from it. I was truly pregnant and the worse part of now, Susan the pack doctor, knew this too.

Susan was practically a gossip with no hint of professionalism. She would have been without a customer a long time ago because of this if only she wasn't the only doctor who treated Omegas in the whole pack.

And just as I expected, once I got home, everyone was giving me weird looks.

"She is pregnant."

"But she isn't even legally joined with anyone!"

"She is such a wh*r*! I have always known this!"

The comments kept getting louder and I knew that I was no longer safe. Not from them but from Austin. If the news continued spreading like this, then it was only a matter of time before Austin heard of it too. And if he figured out that there was a chance the pregnancy could be his, then I was in big trouble.

I didn't even want to imagine how he would react but he would most definitely try to kill me and the baby.

But this wasn't even the main problem. What troubled me more was the fact that, there was a huge chance the pregnancy might not even be his. That night, he wasn't the only man I slept with.

I had been with Damian too.

But just like Austin, I couldn't go to Damian either. Since I was only an omega, he was surely going to take my baby away from me— and that was even if he remembered me.

The bottom line was, I and my baby were no longer safe in this pack. I had to run away.
