Season 1-Foreign Ground.
One day after that new meeting and introduction…
Siro: Heyy, I caught a fish!
Cashew: I haven't caught anything this whole time.
Lucien: (tired face) When are we going back home? We've been at this garden since morning.
Daniel: Be patient, Lucien. We haven't done anything fun yet today. (shy voice)
S: It's finally ready!
Remi: What are you doing?
Emrik: I hope it's not something weird again.
S: My homemade apple juice. You guys wanna try?
Dario: (grabs the juice instantly)
Dario: Let me try it. (drinks the apple juice)
Dario: (tasting) Hmmm… I think something's missing.
Tiber: How does it taste? Is it good?
S: (looking at Dario)
S: Hey! What are you planning to do with my apple juice?
Dario: I'm going to add cow's milk to it.
Viktor: He really does love cow's milk huh. (small smile)
Dario: (tries the mix)
Dario: WOAHH. THIS IS AMAZING.
Dario: YOU GUYS HAVE TO TRY THIS!
Emrik: Give me that. (grabs the mixed juice)
Emrik: (shocked) HEY THIS IS GOOD!
Tiber: He actually nailed it this time.
Remi: Hahaha. Hey, I wanna try it too!
Dario: COME HERE, EVERYONE! I JUST CREATED SOMETHING DELICIOUS!
—Half an hour after they enjoyed Dario's Apple Milk Juice.
Daniel: (looking into the distance)
Daniel: It's Mr. Franz. He's here!
Tiber: Finally, Mr. Franz is back.
"Hey you guys. Sorry I'm late! –Franz"
Franz: I went to town to buy new crop seeds. (smiling)
Remi: Town? What's that?
S: No idea. I don't know either.
Viktor: We've finished all the work in the garden.
Viktor: We wanna go play in the village again.
Franz: Hold on!
Franz: We're going to train our new friends' skills.
Cashew: Is this the activity you mentioned yesterday?
Franz: Exactly!
Tomas: Mr. Franz, the three of us have already done this before. May we go home?
Daniel: Yeah, same. I'm sleepy.
Franz: Alright then, you can go home.
Viktor: Finally!
Daniel: Have fun training, everyone.
S: What kind of training do you mean, Mr. Franz?
Franz: Accuracy training.
Cashew: That sounds difficult.
Remi: No, it sounds fun!
Franz: The training includes archery and long rifle shooting.
Franz: The first one… is archery.
Lucien: I think this'll be easy. (quiet voice)
Siro: I'm not sure I can use a bow. (sad face)
Franz: Come on. Let's go to the shooting field!
S: Let's go!
—"At the shooting field"
Franz: Alright, everyone has their own bow now.
Franz: Your first target is… that apple on top of the haystack. (points at the apple)
Siro: T-that apple? It's so far… (panicking voice)
Lucien: This is easy. Let me go first!
Tiber: Wow, you're confident, Lucien.
Franz: Go ahead.
Lucien: (squinting and aiming at the apple)
Lucien: I just need to focus. This is a small challenge. (inner thoughts)
Ctasss… Sound of the arrow flying forward.
Lucien: (eyes wide) Did I hit it?
Remi: You missed. Big mouth.
Remi: Let me try.
S: Hey, Emrik… What do I do? I've never used a bow before. (panicked face)
Emrik: You're not the only one. I haven't either!
Cashew: I need to learn this quickly.
Franz: Go ahead, Remi.
Remi: (pulling the bow) I'll nail it!
Ctasss… The arrow misses the target completely.
Lucien: Pfftt
Franz: NEXT!
—One hour later. Only Siro hasn't taken the challenge yet.
Franz: Siro. You're the only one left. Show me what you've got.
Siro: (nervous) A-alright…
Emrik: I bet he's gonna fail like the rest of us.
S: Don't underestimate people. He might succeed.
Siro: (standing in the middle of the field) I've been observing them.
Siro: I'm confident I'll succeed!
—Siro draws the bow and observes the wind speed around him.
Cashew: Why is he just standing there?
Franz: (in his thoughts) Why does it feel like he's waiting for something? Is he waiting for the wind to stabilize?
Franz: (thinking) His legs aren't even shaking like the others'.
Siro: The wind's calming. This is it! (releases the bow with full power)
Ctasss… Crackkk! The apple on top of the hay gets hit by Siro's arrow.
Lucien: (shocked) No way he hit it!
S: Told you not to underestimate people.
Franz: (thinking) The way he handled the bow was… different from the rest.
He didn't even flinch while waiting for the right moment.
Siro: Mr. Franz?
Franz: (thinking) I think I know… the perfect name for this kid!
Emrik: Heyy. Mr. Franz.
Franz: (snaps out) Oh right. Congrats, Siro! You did it!
Cashew: What about us? We all failed.
Franz: You can try again tomorrow. Now we'll move on to training with long rifles!
S: I think we'll do better this time!
Franz: This rifle training will take place directly in the wild!
Remi: (shocked) HUH?
Lucien: What's the target?
Franz: Birds and wild boars.
Emrik: Okay. We're doomed.
Franz: Wear thick clothing! We'll be heading into a cold area.
Cashew: (whispering) What are we doing this for anyway?
Remi: Just go with it. We don't know anything around here anyway.
—They head toward the forest in the mountains.
—After a long journey from the village to the mountain forest…
Franz: We're here.
Cashew: (in awe) Woahhh… It's beautiful here.
Tiber: Are we training here?
Franz: Yes. You all have your rifles, right?
Franz: Who wants to go first?
Cashew: I'll do it.
Franz: Since we haven't found any wild boars, your target will be that bird up there. (points to bird in the tree)
Cashew: I'll take the shot!
Cashew: (aiming at the bird, finger on the trigger) I'm going to hit it.
BOOM!
The bird falls—hit by Cashew's shot.
Franz: Good.
Emrik: I wanna try!
Franz: Go for it!
Emrik: (aiming) That bird up there is pretty big. If I hit it, we can take it home.
BOOM!
Another bird drops.
Franz: Next!
Remi: (looking ahead) Hey, there's a wild boar over there!
S: Yeah, and it's pretty big.
Franz: Good. Who's up for taking down that wild boar?
Siro: (raises hand) I'll do it.
Franz: Ohh. You, Siro? Go ahead!
Siro: (aims with sharp focus) One pull of the trigger, and I'll get it.
One… Two… Three… BOOM!
Franz: (shocked) Incredible!
—The wild boar drops instantly.
Cashew: HE DID IT!
Lucien: You're amazing, Siro!
—S hears the sound of horses in the distance.
S: I hear a horse carriage.
Remi: Me too.
Tiber: There it is! (points forward)
Franz: (confused) Who's that?
"Excuse me, sir. Are you conducting an illegal hunt? We heard gunfire from afar.
"We're soldiers from the local military post."
Franz: Oh, no. I was just teaching the kids how to hunt birds.
Soldier: Are you sure it was just birds?
Soldier: Were you also hunting wild boars?
Franz: Of course not. I know wild boars are protected here, since they're a food source. Right?
Soldier: Sir, you'd better return to the village before there's any trouble. The weather's going to get really cold in a few hours.
Franz: Yeah. We were actually just about to pack up.
Remi: He's so calm. (quiet voice)
S: I admire him.
Soldier: Alright then, sir. We'll be on our way. Stay safe.
Franz: Safe travels to you too!
Dario: Are we in trouble?
Franz: Not at all. Good thing they didn't see the wild boar.
Franz: Since the conditions aren't ideal, I'm passing all of you in this test.
Remi: REALLY?
Franz: Yes. But you'll still need to do it again tomorrow. At the shooting range.
Lucien: That's better.
Franz: Bring the boar. We're having meat tonight.
S: FINALLY, SMOKED MEAT AGAIN!!
Franz: Siro, you were impressive and precise.
Siro: T-thank you, sir!
Franz: Alright everyone, pack up! We're heading back to the village!
—They all return to the village in the bright afternoon, bringing along the large wild boar to cook later.
—After arriving at the village…
Dario: Man, I'm exhausted.
S: This wild boar is seriously heavy.
Remi: That's Tomas up ahead.
Tomas: HEY GUYS!
Tomas: You brought a wild boar? That's awesome!
Villager: Looks like you're having a feast tonight, Mr. Franz.
Franz: Hahaha. But I'll be saving it for winter supplies.
Tomas: Woahh. Who brought it down?
S: Siro.
Tomas: That's amazing, Siro!
Siro: Thank you.
Cashew: Where are Viktor and Daniel?
Tomas: They're already asleep at their homes.
Franz: Move quickly to the house. The air's getting really cold!
S: Yes, sir!
—They rush to Mr. Franz's house.
Franz: Finally home.
Emrik: Where should we put the boar?
Franz: Take it to the back. I'll butcher it tonight.
Emrik & S: Alright!
Franz: After that, come back here. I want to tell you something.
—After Emrik & S place the wild boar, they return to the front of the house.
Emrik & S: We put it away!
Franz: Alright, I'll tell you now.
Franz: After seeing Siro's skills with both the bow and the rifle, I've made a decision.
Franz: Your name from now on… is Siro Bowman.
