Chapter 28 - Reckon Me

The Fourteen Champions

Chosen across all Realms. Forged through fire, void, and will. These are not merely warriors. They are seeds of future Moons—or worse: something greater.

When Zaxton called for champions, the Realms trembled. From the depths of the Abyssal Sea to the skyborne peaks of the Feathering Clans, those who dared to dream—and those who feared nothing—answered.

From a tournament spanning three years across the First, Second, and Third Realms, Fourteen emerged.

---

1. Jin Sori — The Storm That Guards

Eldest son of Zaxton. Lightning incarnate. His bond with the Ninth Moon (Storm) deepened into mastery of celestial magnetism.

> His weapon is his will; his armor, the sky.

2. Rin Sori — Flame of the Wandering Path

Youngest son. Bearer of the Crimson Ember. Fuses chaos fire with beast-taming techniques.

> Carries no sword—his companions are dragons made of living flame.

3. Miraeth Kael — The Mirrorless Seer

Blind from birth. Sees not the world but its karma threads. Trained under the Moon of Secrets.

> Her whispers unravel illusions. Her step breaks fate.

4. Volan of the Pale Root — The Living Tomb

Once buried alive in the Second Realm as punishment. Dug himself out. Now commands earth and decay.

> Each step blooms graveflowers. His enemies wither before they die.

5. Seri Vynn — The Laughing Blade

From the Eastern Isles of the First Realm. Twin sabers and a deathwish. Known for smiling mid-slaughter.

> She's survived seven assassination attempts—three were her own.

6. Dekkar Yuun — The Beast-Slaved Prince

A cursed noble. To survive, he bound himself to a Voidborn Leviathan. They now share one body.

> Half-man, half-monster. Whole terror.

7. Ashri of the Hollow Sun — Starforged Orphan

Born in the heart of a failed star. The last of the Lightbearers.

> She burns silently. Her light disintegrates time-walkers and soul shadows alike.

8. Noxiel the Echo — Voice of a Forgotten Sect

He speaks in tri-tones—past, present, and future layered. Wields sound as a weapon.

> His breath breaks bones. His silence unravels minds.

9. Kirael and Kirel — The Bound Twins

Conjoined souls in separate bodies. One wields ice, the other molten steel.

> They fight in unison. Their deaths are bound. To kill one is to die yourself.

10. The Clay Monk — Nameless. Numberless.

An earthen statue brought to life by Rin's own cultivation flame.

> Never speaks. But mountains bow as it walks.

11. Velmari the Unbound — Heir of Chains

Born in the prisons of the Moon of Bone. Broke every seal on her body to feel pain again.

> Now she binds her enemies with the same soul-chains once used on her.

12. Kaien of the Starved Sky — Devourer of Heavens

His sect consumed the spiritual skies to live. He is both glutton and gatekeeper.

> He eats celestial energy—and hungers still.

13. Shan Luroth — The Blade That Remembers

Carries the spirits of ten thousand ancestors in his weapon. Speaks their names before each strike.

> He does not kill. He honors.

14. Nyra of the Broken Moon — Last Survivor of a Fallen Moon Sect

Her Moon was shattered in the War of the First Cycle. She rebuilt herself from the fragments.

> Her sword is made from a piece of her fallen Moon. It hums with vengeance.

Unified Under the Celestial Dominion

After Zaxton's display of absolute power, the Realms respond with a mixture of fear, hope, and devotion.

First Realm – The Mortal Foundation

The commoners of the First Realm worship Zaxton as a god-king. Cultivation academies shift their curricula to mirror Mt. Fai's teachings. The Church of the Radiant Path declares him the "Heaven-Found Flame."

> Unity through inspiration.

Second Realm – The Path of Beasts and Trials

Once wild and scattered, the beast clans now swear allegiance. Spirit beasts walk beside humans in sacred pacts. Beast Masters across the realm carve Zaxton's sigil into their flesh in silent tribute.

> Unity through respect.

Third Realm – The Seat of the Moons

Zaxton's home. All sects now fly the twin banners of Mt. Fai and the Don Empire. Resistance is forgotten. The Moons host ceremonies in his name.

> He is no longer "among" them.

He is above them.

---

The Gate Awaits

With the Fourteen Champions behind him, Zaxton approaches the gate—woven from ancient stardust and bound with time-seals long hidden.

The sky darkens not from storm, but from anticipation.

> "We go not to conquer," he says, "but to witness.

Yet if conquest comes… we will not be found wanting."

And with that, the Gate opens.

A light pours out—not bright, but deep.

Something waits on the other side.
