Chapter 8 - Episode 8 - The Map of Fallen Stars

Yun Qianyu stood at the balcony of the watchtower, gazing into the distance where the mist had swallowed their enemies. Her power had flared during the battle—unexpected, overwhelming. It had answered her, not like a weapon, but like a memory returning home.

Behind her, Fenghua approached, his robe lightly torn from the clash. He held a scroll in his hand—old, bound in starlight-threaded silk.

"You felt it, didn't you?" he said gently.

She turned. "Something inside me… awakened."

He nodded, unrolling the scroll between them. Its surface shimmered with faint constellations.

As Qianyu stared at the scroll in Fenghua's hands, a question formed on her lips.

"What is that?"

Fenghua looked at the scroll for a moment, then held it out between them.

"It was hidden beneath the altar in the temple ruins," he said. "Buried under celestial seals—ones even I couldn't break until your power burst through during the battle."

She hesitated, then touched the fabric. A shimmer passed between them—like the sky itself held its breath.

"The scroll responded," Fenghua added. "As if it was waiting for you."

Qianyu unrolled the scroll gently. Stars inked in gold danced across the surface. But they didn't form constellations—they formed a map.

Her breath caught.

"This… isn't from the mortal realm."

Fenghua nodded.

"This is the Map of Fallen Stars," he explained. "Forged during the final days of the Celestial War. It tracks six divine fragments once belonging to the Moonlight Sovereign—your past self."

Qianyu's breath caught. "They still exist?"

"Scattered across the realms. But if you gather them, they could help you reshape what was taken… and what's to come."

She stared at the map. The locations glowed faintly: Sea of Ghost Lanterns, Crimson Veil Desert, Abyss of Echoes, and more.

"And Heaven knows this," she said darkly.

Fenghua nodded. "That's why the envoy came. Not just to test your strength—but to delay you."

Suddenly, the tower trembled.

Blades glinted in the shadows. Celestial assassins, hidden until now, burst into the chamber—draped in silver armor, eyes burning with divine judgment.

"You're too late," Qianyu whispered.

She rose, flames of starlight curling around her wrists. She met them head-on, her power no longer hesitant but commanding. Behind her, Fenghua fought without a word—his blade a blur of pure white energy.

One assassin broke from the fray, diving toward the map—trying to destroy it. Qianyu intercepted him midair, pinning him to the wall.

"You can't erase what's written in the stars."

With a flare of light, she released him—slamming him into the stone. The map sparked wildly… then reshaped itself.

A seventh shard appeared. One not even Heaven had known about.

"The Shard of the Lost Moon," Fenghua whispered. "It's calling you."

Far above, in the floating citadel of Heaven, the High Star Priest stood before the Celestial Council.

"She's already reactivating the map. The prophecy is unraveling."

Another figure stepped from the shadows—her voice calm and cruel.

"Then we rewrite fate," said the Veiled Empress. "And this time, we crush the stars before they rise."

Back in the Demon King's Land, Rong Xianzhi stood on a cliffside, watching storm clouds gather over the hidden valley.

Mo Lianxue joined him. "She chose her path."

"She chose her truth," he replied. "And I'll follow it… even if it leads to Heaven's wrath."

As the moonlight returned, Qianyu traced the glowing lines of the map with her fingertips. Each location was a piece of her—memories, power, and pain.

"We start tomorrow," she said.

"Where to?" asked Fenghua.

She pointed to the first light on the map.

"The Sea of Ghost Lanterns. If I am to reclaim myself—I must first face what I left behind."

Far above them, the constellations shifted.

Heaven was watching.

And it would not forgive easily.
