Chapter 21 - Argon's Swordmanship

Two days later, Zack went to meet Argon.

Argon was already waiting for him.

Argon:

"Ah Zack, I was waiting just for you."

Zack:

"You were waiting for me?"

Argon:

"Of course. The idea of teaching you my swordsmanship was mine. I want others to learn the style I've developed myself."

Zack thought to himself,

"Hmm… In my previous life, I only knew basic academy swordsmanship. But Argon… he was an S-rank awakener. People were crazy about his sword style. And now I have the chance to learn directly from him."

Argon:

"From today, you are my disciple, and I'm your master. Got it?"

Zack:

"Yes, Master."

Argon: (excited)

"Oh yes! Call me Master from now on!"

Zack:

"Okay, Master."

Argon: (gleefully)

"Oh man, this is awesome! Someone is finally calling me Master… wow!"

Argon was a lively and quirky guy. While he stayed calm in front of the headmaster, with others, his playful personality always came out.

Zack:

"Master?"

Argon:

"Yes, my student?"

Zack:

"Does the headmaster know about this?"

Argon:

"Of course. I told him myself. And he spoke to Mr. Rafel. Mr. Rafel is the one who told you to learn my swordsmanship, didn't he?"

Zack:

"Ohh… right."

"Yes, Master."

Argon:

"Listen carefully—my swordsmanship is an advanced version of the academy's basic style. I've developed it myself over years of personal effort and battle experience."

Zack:

"Ohh… I see."

Argon:

"So let's begin on the training ground. That's where we'll start. Later, we'll take this to the Abyss for real combat training."

Zack:

"Understood."

Argon and Zack walk to the training ground.

The open field is quiet—lined with practice dummies and wooden weapon racks.

Argon:

"Zack, pick up a sword."

Zack walks over and picks up a wooden sword from the rack.

He grips it tightly, taking his stance.

Argon folds his arms, a playful smirk on his face.

Argon:

"Good. Now show me your current sword stance."

Zack takes a deep breath and readies himself.

Zack began demonstrating his basic swordsmanship in front of Argon.

Argon (nodding):

"Not bad."

He then unsheathed his own practice sword and said,

"Now watch closely. I'll show you my swordsmanship. Focus on every move."

Argon moved with fluid precision—each step, swing, and stance carrying a weight of years of experience.

Zack was stunned, eyes wide as he watched every motion.

Zack (thinking):

This really is an advanced version of the academy's style... I made the right choice calling him my master. His skill... it's the result of years of training, no doubt.

Argon:

"That was the first form of my style. There are five more forms, and you'll learn them one by one."

He stepped back, crossing his arms.

Argon:

"Now practice what you saw."

Zack got to work immediately.

At first, he stumbled—his body trying to match a rhythm it hadn't learned yet.

But slowly, with effort and focus, he began to get it.

After all, he held the battle wisdom of a 40-year-old warrior in his mind.

Hours passed. The sun dipped behind the horizon, and darkness spread across the training ground.

Argon (impressed):

"Wow, Zack. You've learned a lot in just a day. Your ability to grasp swordsmanship is... truly remarkable."

He smiled proudly.

Argon:

"Alright. Tomorrow, we move to the Abyss. You'll fight real monsters using only my swordsmanship. Got it?"

Zack (confident):

"Yes, Master."

To be continue...
