Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Everything Just Keep Getting Worse

In the game False Horizon, to be more specific, during the academy arc, the protagonist would learn about the existence of a senior named Serena, and this person was not an ordinary senior or anything.

On the contrary, she was considered the great genius of the academy, a person who was respected and admired by everyone for her power and potential.

But unfortunately, she died while on the battlefield.

And now, the girl who was considered the genius of the academy was Ash's sword and servant, it was truly unbelievable.

At first, Ash had thought that the Third Prince was just a useless person, but even if he died and came back to life, Ash could never imagine that the useless Third Prince would have such a wonderful servant.

'I love you so much Ash! You really are number one in my heart!'

Just the fact that Ash could command such a great character was enough to make his confidence soar.

Next, Ash needed to check the power of this Prince, and to do so, he needed to open his information panel. However, Ash didn't know how to make it appear.

With no other choice, he had to think about it in his head like anime characters often did, and surprisingly, it actually worked.

Name: Ash "Worthless" Voidveil

Fate: The Useless Prince

Rank: High Human

Experience: [3/500]

Ability: [Unlucky and Useless]

Relic: None

Well, this information wasn't too different from what he remembered about this character, but there was still one thing that bothered him, and that was the Ability called Unlucky and Useless.

Curious, he tried to check it, and then, he realized not long after that it was the worst decision he had ever made:

[Unlucky and Useless: The Prince is both useless and unlucky. With this Ability, he will be dragged into unexpected events, which can be good, but can also be bad.]

After reading those lines, he just wanted to die immediately.

Nevertheless, his strong will to survive had prevented Ash from doing so. However, he was still very disappointed.

It was already extremely unlucky for him to be reincarnated into the body of The Useless Prince, and yet he also had an Ability that caused him to encounter even more unlucky events.

'Where is the fucking justice!?!?!'

Just as Ash was about to burst into tears, a sudden scream rang out from outside, causing both him and Serena to be unable to help but glanced at where the noise came from.

Almost immediately, both of them simultaneously walked out of the tent, trying to figure out why the scream had suddenly rang out.

As he walked, he tried to organize the information he remembered about Ash's character tutorial so that he wouldn't be too surprised when he stepped outside.

According to what he remembered, the goal of this tutorial required Ash to kill all the remnants of the Ur Kingdom with the help from his knight, so the scream just now most likely belonged to a certain knight.

Even if Ash had Serena as his servant, the two of them would not be able to get through this tutorial.

He needed more resources, and luckily, the knights outside were the ones who could help him survive this tutorial and return safely to the palace.

With steps filled with dignity and power, Ash stepped out of the tent and began speaking in a clear and loud voice, enough to attract everyone's attention:

"Why the hell are you guys making so much noise?! You guys…"

Ash was about to continue but suddenly paused as soon as he saw his soldiers, and honestly, he didn't even know how to describe them.

All of their faces looked terrifying, each of them had dozens of scars all over their bodies, among those knights, there were some who had skinny, frail bodies, while others had bodies that were larger than normal.

No matter how he looked at them, these guys didn't look like the majestic, imposing knights in Ash's imagination.

No, maybe they weren't knights at all.

"Hey, who are these guys, Serena? They're too different from normal knights."

"What's wrong with you, my Prince? These guys aren't knights at all."

"Huh? Then who are they?"

"They're dangerous death row inmates that the Empire gave us to deal with the remnants of the Ur Kingdom, sir." Serena's words sounded very calm, but they contained a completely unacceptable amount of information.

Ash took a deep breath, as deep as he could, trying to control himself before he did something stupid, but unfortunately, he failed.

"FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!" Ash screamed so loudly that all the death row inmates and Serena were forced to cover their ears and glare at him with confused eyes.

But that was not the end since right after that, Ash burst out giggling like a crazy bastard.

'Hahaha! This is fucking amazing! Is there anything worse than this!?'

Ash had just been reincarnated into a useless person's body, forced to go through a tutorial that was nearly impossible to complete, and now, the knights he believed would be useful were dangerous death row inmates?

Ash was really starting to think that death was his best option right now.

'Looks like my luck has been eaten by dogs.'

***

After returning to the tent with Serena, it took Ash an extremely long time to calm down.

But his body was still shaking a bit because the current situation was actually much worse than he had imagined, so bad that he was almost certain that he would die soon.

Ash started biting his nails as a habit to relieve stress.

So what should he do now?

Ash had thought that if he tried, he could still use those prisoners, but after looking straight at their eyes, he realized that this would become much more difficult.

All of those prisoners had the same look in their eyes, and it was despair, the look of someone who no longer wanted to do anything.

While Ash was still immersed in his thoughts and plans, Serena had appeared in front of him from nowhere like a ghost.

And in her hand was a bowl of vegetable soup, without any meat.

"What is this, Serena?"

"Your dinner." She gently placed a bowl of soup on the table, placing it on the map of the empire without worrying that the map might be damaged.

Ash stared at her with a speechless gaze. While he was racking his brain trying to think of a plan to help them escape from here alive, this girl could still think of food.

Naive…was a good point, right?

Sighing, Ash picked up the bowl of soup, looked at it for a long time with a disappointed look, and gently put it down on the table again.

This bowl of soup looked so bland and boring that he didn't feel like eating it anymore.

"No meat, Serena?"

"What did you expect?"

"Um… so there's no meat…Fuck…"
