Trevor swung his sword like a madman with each swing of his sword his bloodied palms tore even more, he zoned out long ago and ever since he'd focused only on the precision of his next strike as he struck with lethal accuracy. If the instructor could see him now would he be proud or horrified at what had become of his students.
Although his whole body was near completely numb he felt each slash which penetrated his leather armour, he had no energy to spare to even cry out as he shoved one of the soldiers who managed to land a strike on his back before striking the man through the throat as he fell to the ground.
As Trevor turned his gaze from the mans final struggle he had just enough time to notice and dodge the attack a brutishly large soldier wielding a large axe. Even though Trevor managed to dodge by jumping to the side landing un the mud he again only barely avoided the brutes next attack as he charged again with shocking speed.
This soldier was different from the rest and as Trevor was on the defensive he noticed the tattoos the soldier bore along with the strange uniform and realised it was one of the northern mercenaries he'd only heard rumours of until now. Warriors of a strange religion from distant and mysterious lands up north, they became known during the the start of the Great War for their skill as great warriors.
Despite knowing he was now outmatched and nearing his limit Trevor staggered to his feet and a began to catch his breath while the warrior shouted at him in an unfamiliar language while beating his chest. Trevor didn't know what he was saying but from the scene before him he could understand enough since the enemy soldiers which were surrounding him seemed to have encircled the two, it was only then that Trevor realised he was alone and the rest of his unit either laid dead around him or withdrew as the others died.
Breathing in desperately he threw his helmet revealing his young withered face beneath, covered in dirt and blood, his hair wild and eyes piercing the warrior like daggers. Trevor stood straight raising his sword and preparing his stance before replying to the warrior whose eyes were lit in anticipation, "I am Trevor de Rennefort, eldest son of the Rennefort household."
The warrior smiled brightly as his fellow Norsemen cheered in excitement, "TREVA!!" he bellowed as he readied his axe and the two prepare to exchange blows.
Trevor took deep breathes with each step knowing it could be his last, all of a sudden the air became cold and he felt everything from the cuts on his body to the frost particles in the air which sizzled around him from the body heat, he heard each step the brute took and fixed his eyes waiting for a chance to strike through the seemingly impenetrable guard.
The warrior took his first swing leaving inches for Trevor to dodge to his side striking at the warriors side only for the attack to be blocked and bounced off of the handle of his axe sending Trevor staggering back and leaving him open to the next attack, this time he quickly stepped into the warriors attack launching forward from his back foot and aiming to pierce his torso however again he failed and this time he was bashed down into the ground the heel of the axe slamming him into the ground and dislocating his right shoulder.
The warrior grabbed Trevor off the floor laughing along with his warband before throwing him across their stage further breaking a few bones as he met the ground. Trevor grit his teeth and looked struggled to his feet when his sword landed at his feet. He panted while picking up his sword and looked back at the warrior who mocked him while swinging his axe to show off to the audience.
Trevor knew this was the end and decided in this moment the only thing he wanted was to wipe that shitty face from that bastard who was enjoying with toying with those weaker than him, it was only now that he'd given up on survival did he finally loosen up now holding his sword in his left hand which despite not being used to he did so firmly before charging towards the giant. His flurry of attacks were easily blocked again and again as the warrior laughed more violently in Trevor's face before launching his own attack but this time Trevor didn't try to evade or counter but stood firm.
When the axe landed in his left shoulder Trevor let out a violent shout before biting into his lip hard enough to draw blood and grabbing his sword before it fell to the ground with his swollen right arm while using the little strength and control left in his left arm to grab the axe planted in him. He shoved his sword deep into the warriors stomach while he was busy boasting to the crowd around him.
The warrior was shocked at the sword in his stomach and ripped the axe from Trevor's shoulder causing him to fall to the ground in agony, the warrior ripped the sword from his stomach and threw it in a fit of rage before storming towards Trevor and grabbing him by the throat.
Trevor cursed as he now faced his demise without being able to fulfil his revenge but at that moment of no hope saw only a glint in the distance, the glint got closer each time and before he or the warrior could react Trevor was again on the ground alongside the hand of the warrior, he didn't know what was going on but it didn't matter to Trevor, he pulled his razor from his boot and as chaos erupted around him with an unknown force charging the field he crawled along the ground to the injured warrior who was knocked over.
Once he was beside the warrior who was still crying out in the pain of losing his arm he began to viciously tear into his throat before he had a chance to defend himself. Trevor felt a large weight being lifted from his chest as he dug into the warriors throat while he gurgled and choked on the blood. Trevor lay beside the man on his back as the soldiers who were only moments ago watching his execution were themselves swiftly cut down.
In moments the battle was over and all that remained was Trevor whose body was quickly recovered by the mages present, everything was blurry and muffled, Trevor could barely heard the loud mumbling around him but he knew he was finally safe whoever it was and just like that he could rest easy for the first time in weeks.
