It was a peaceful morning in Garp's house. Dragon was still drooling in his sleep. I, however, was wide awake, as usual. Can't a reincarnated soul catch a nap in this world? No. Babies wake up at ridiculous hours, and I was no exception.
But today was different.
A knock sounded at the door.
"Yo, Garp! It's me!"
That voice… I knew it. Young Sengoku. Twenty-four years old, future Fleet Admiral, and currently… a total goody-two-shoes.
The door burst open, and in walked Sengoku, looking sharp in his casual Marine coat and a ridiculous pompadour hairstyle. No beard — thank you, very much.
And behind him… a goat.
A goat.
Inside the house.
Why? Who knows. One Piece world logic.
"Why the hell did you bring that goat again, Sengoku?" Garp's muffled voice called from the bathroom.
"He likes visiting you," Sengoku grinned, scratching the goat's head.
I, of course, was watching all this from my crib fortress. Well — crib with a missing side after my moon power incident. I made a mental note to avoid getting caught.
The goat locked eyes with me.
"Meeeeh."
I squinted.
Was this goat judging me?
"Tch. You wanna fight, horn boy?" I whispered.
Sengoku stepped closer to my crib. "Yo, how are the little guys doing?" he chuckled, ruffling Dragon's hair first. Dragon kept snoring.
Then, he turned to me.
I puffed out my chest.
"Mmeh!" I gurgled with authority.
"Hahaha! This one's got guts!" Sengoku laughed, lifting me up.
Big mistake, buddy.
Because just as he held me up, a faint glimmer of last night's moon energy flickered inside me. My baby grip tightened.
"Guh—hey! Strong little guy, huh?" Sengoku winced.
I grinned.
"Meh!" Translation: Fear me, mortal.
Before I could unleash my full Baby Moon Grip of Doom, Garp came storming out, towel around his shoulders.
"Oi, put my kid down, Sengoku! He bites!"
Sengoku blinked. "Does he?"
"Yeah, he got me last week!"
I grinned wider. Damn right I did.
Sengoku laughed and set me back down. The goat gave me one last judgmental bleat before following Sengoku outside.
As the door shut, I stared out the window.
The moon would be full soon.
And when it was… the real fun would begin.
