In the middle of the school year Xai woke up one morning in his room. He looked around at his wardrobe and desk of the place he was in. He stood up from his bed and put on some clothes. He grabbed his black T-shirt and blue jeans. Xai walked downstairs and saw his little sister sitting in the living room. He glared at her and walked further to the kitchen to grab some food.
"Are you still mad about it? Come on! It's been three days!" Xai's sister Tira grunted.
"Yes! I mean how can you be so heartless?!" Xai snapped back.
His sister got full custody after their parents died one night of a murder. Xai was 14 at the time and Tira was 19. The big difference in their grieving was time. Tira cried for about an hour and was over the death by the next day, while Xai was still crying himself to sleep every night.
"I'm going to school. I never want to see you again, but, I have no choice" Xai said walking out of the door while grabbing his backpack that he made yesterday evening. Tira chuckled.
"Make sure to come back safely!" Tira shouted after him while scrolling on her phone, but Xai didn't hear her. He just went to school.
On his way to school Xai fell down on the pavement. He wanted to stand up but was too tired and sad to do so. He thought about his mother and sister and just started crying.
A while later he fell unconscious and then he woke up, he was in a bright forest.
