Your white kid wants dreadlocks/box braids/a bindi/etc.
They don't understand why it's a problem, and honestly, maybe you don't either.
What would you do?
Do you say "it's just hair/fashion" and ignore the implications?
Or do you both educate yourselves, listen to the communities affected, and learn the difference between appreciation and appropriation?
