The scene gradually dimmed, and the bleak wind and rain were no longer noisy.
Roy reached out in the chaos, trying to grasp Rocky's fingertips, but she only caught emptiness. Awareness returned to reality, the room lit by a soft yellow light, with a deep and tranquil night outside the window.
The leaves rustled, stars filled the sky.
Roy held her thumping heart. Threads of despair still lingered within her, narrating the bitterness of a different fate.
She suddenly turned over and got out of bed, leaving her bedroom, and ran downstairs. Her sweat-soaked nightgown clung tightly to her back, the flowing wind passed through her shivering chest, taking away the remaining warmth.
Rocky's guest room was at the innermost part of the third floor. Under the dim light of the corridor, Roy found her way to the door and knocked: "Brother, brother…"
