Chapter 5 - Such Strong Resentment, Such Evil Aura

Su Yuntao stood in front of Tang San, holding the crystal orb with an impatient look, not even glancing at it.

But in the very next moment, a dazzling light burst forth from the orb, instantly illuminating the entire room.

Old Jack's face finally broke into a smile, while Su Yuntao lowered his head in shock, unable to believe his eyes as he stared at the crystal ball radiating brilliant blue light.

"Pr...primal full soul power!" he stammered in astonishment.

"How is this possible?" he exclaimed again.

At last, he withdrew the crystal ball and looked at Tang San, his expression complicated.

"Primal full soul power, such a pity it's useless," Su Yuntao sighed deeply. If only Tang San's soul weapon wasn't a Blue Silver Grass...

Tang San, however, seized on the phrase "primal full soul power" and quickly asked for an explanation.

Perhaps out of sympathy, Su Yuntao grew patient and began explaining some basic knowledge about soul masters to Tang San.

By the end, Su Yuntao shook his head repeatedly: "What a shame... primal full soul power is a genius talent rarely seen once in a hundred years. If it weren't for such a useless soul weapon, I might have..."

Tang San didn't feel disappointed by Su Yuntao's words. Instead, he quietly stepped aside and watched curiously as Jiang Chen remained.

If there was anyone mysterious in his heart, it was definitely Jiang Chen.

Although more than a year had passed, Tang San still shuddered at Jiang Chen's cold and sinister aura—it remained fresh in his memory. If it weren't for only a slight trace of that chilling energy having seeped into his body, Tang San might have met a terrible fate back then.

In his previous life, as a disciple of the Tang Sect, Tang San knew poisons better than anyone, yet he couldn't determine what poison was hidden in Jiang Chen's aura.

The poison was overwhelmingly potent—just a sliver nearly drained all of his profound internal energy.

He had once suspected it to be corpse poison, but dismissed the idea, as corpse poison was merely legend in his previous life, something he had never witnessed firsthand.

Furthermore, legends said corpse poison was found in zombies, but by his observation, Jiang Chen was nothing like those undead creatures of legend.

Jiang Chen's mystery had long placed him on the same level as Tang San himself, perhaps even more dangerous.

Tang San was extremely curious about what kind of soul weapon Jiang Chen would awaken. Would it also be a useless one like his own?

Without waiting for Su Yuntao's command, Jiang Chen had already stepped into the awakening formation.

Seeing Jiang Chen's serious expression, Su Yuntao, who had been growing impatient, also straightened up. Awakening all the children was his duty.

"Close your eyes and feel carefully."

Jiang Chen obediently shut his eyes and began to concentrate.

Su Yuntao activated the formation. From the very start, golden light particles poured out in a thick stream, densely filling nearly the entire golden aura shield.

"This…" Su Yuntao was stunned. His eyes suddenly brightened, emitting a faint green glow.

He had never seen anyone awaken with so many light particles appearing at once—it was abnormal.

The golden light particles continued to flood out faster than Jiang Chen could absorb them. In the blink of an eye, the entire wooden house was bathed in dazzling golden light.

Yet no one dared to close their eyes, all enduring the brightness as they watched Jiang Chen in the formation.

Old Jack and Su Yuntao's eyes gleamed with excitement, their faces betraying barely contained anticipation. Such a spectacle might herald the birth of an unprecedentedly powerful soul weapon.

"Don't stop, focus and feel," Su Yuntao shouted.

More and more light particles appeared. The time passed far beyond that of the other children's awakenings, yet still the golden particles poured endlessly, while no sign of Jiang Chen's soul weapon manifested.

Su Yuntao's excitement turned to anxiety.

He had never heard of such a case. The Martial Soul Hall of Noding City had many elders, but none had encountered this situation before.

Even their training archives contained no records of this phenomenon.

"Could this be the awakening of a brand-new, unprecedentedly powerful soul weapon?" Su Yuntao's face flushed red with excitement, barely able to contain himself.

If Jiang Chen could awaken a strong soul weapon and be absorbed into the Martial Soul Hall, Su Yuntao's promotion, salary raise, and chances with white-robed beauties would be almost guaranteed.

But moments later, Jiang Chen's soul weapon still failed to appear, making Su Yuntao increasingly anxious.

Crack… crack…

Su Yuntao's expression changed abruptly. Cracks appeared on the six black energy stones, then a massive burst of golden light shot forth, all flowing into Jiang Chen's body.

At that moment, Jiang Chen finally began to change.

Behind him, an endless swirl of black mist started to rise, thick and dark as ink, exuding a sinister and chilling aura that made the hairs on everyone's neck stand on end.

Su Yuntao's heart pounded wildly. A terrifying sense of deathly danger enveloped him. What kind of soul weapon was this? Just awakening, and yet it made even a Level 26 Grand Soul Master like himself feel threatened.

"Everyone, get out now!" he suddenly shouted harshly.

The children and Old Jack, already trembling in fear at the aura radiating from Jiang Chen, didn't dare linger any longer. They scattered out of the room as if fleeing for their lives.

Only Tang San remained standing, his face grim as he stared intently at the swirling mist behind Jiang Chen.

This aura was deeply chilling—like it came straight from the Nine Nether Hells—and it carried an intense and overwhelming poison that gave Tang San, a disciple of the Tang Sect, a severe headache.

At last, he realized the source of Jiang Chen's poison—it was his soul weapon.

Tang San didn't want to leave. He wanted to see exactly what kind of soul weapon Jiang Chen possessed. Perhaps by understanding Jiang Chen's weapon, he could identify the nature of that ruthless poison.

"小三, come out quickly!" Old Jack called anxiously from outside the door.

But the black mist behind Jiang Chen shifted once again.

The dark clouds roiled and churned, gradually forming the faint outline of a humanoid figure within the shadows—vague and indistinct.

Everyone could only make out that the figure wore strange, ancient robes, and its face was obscured by the thick black mist, impossible to discern clearly.

Suddenly, as the mist churned violently, the figure's face became partially visible—the dark fog around it thinning slightly. Two blood-red rays shot out from the figure's eyes, and two terrifying fangs gleamed faintly.

In that instant, Tang San's eyes widened in shock—this mysterious figure was a zombie with a blue-green face and sharp fangs!

The blue-faced, fang-bearing zombie tilted its head back and emitted a silent, chilling howl. A wave of overwhelming pressure swept through the room, making everyone's hearts race and their nerves quake.

Tang San didn't dare stay another second. Like a flash, he dashed out the door.

Only the stunned Su Yuntao remained, rooted to the spot. Despite his status as a Grand Soul Master, the immense pressure from this mysterious soul weapon weighed heavily on his heart.

At that very moment, Tang Hao, sitting in his own home, suddenly looked up. His murky eyes flared with a terrifying light as he stared toward the village center.

"Such strong resentment, such evil aura... what could it be?"

His words still echoed faintly inside the house, but Tang Hao's figure had already vanished. In an instant, he appeared outside the Martial Soul Hall, standing behind the gathered crowd, his gaze locked firmly on Jiang Chen inside the room.
