Chapter 4 - v

Lou Quan was attacked by thugs. He dodged their strikes and immediately drew the rusty sword he had obtained. Without hesitation, he channeled natural qi into the sword.

As he swung, suddenly the sword glowed very brightly. Lou Quan and the thugs all turned their gaze away.

At the same time, Lou Quan felt a great qi energy from the sword he was holding.

"What is happening?" He was confused.

The bright light began to fade. When Lou Quan looked at the sword he held, he saw a dragon engraving on its blade. Not only that, the sword was emitting qi even greater than what he had just felt.

The sword's hilt also changed to silver with some golden engravings. The sharp blade emitted a terrifying gleam.

"This sword..." Lou Quan was shocked by what was happening. He had underestimated this sword, but now he was amazed. "Luckily, I didn't throw away this relic immediately."

At that moment, the thugs started attacking Lou Quan again. Calmly, Lou Quan dodged their attacks and immediately launched a counterattack.

One simple slash cut off the necks of two thugs. The heads of the two men fell, and blood flowed onto the floor. The onlookers screamed in terror.

The remaining thugs were frightened; one of those Lou Quan killed was their leader.

"This is beyond what I imagined." Lou Quan was amazed that the sword he held was very sharp. "This will be a useful weapon."

The thugs fled. Lou Quan sat back down, eating the food on his table as if nothing had happened, even though there were two corpses beside his table.

He was hungry and didn't care about trivial matters like that. Killing and death were parts of the cultivation world. It happened every day; cultivators had to get used to it. Lou Quan had agreed that it was normal. In his other memories, he had already killed millions of cultivators. Just two, wasn't a big deal.

After finishing his meal, Lou Quan walked toward the servant. He wanted to pay for the food he ate. However, the servant shook his head, unwilling to accept Lou Quan's payment. His face showed fear.

Lou Quan put the payment on the table and quickly left. However, as he was about to leave, he stepped back two more steps and took back two quarters of his payment.

"Sorry, I think I'll take a little back," Lou Quan said.

The servant didn't protest at all. He was actually grateful Lou Quan left quickly. He thought Lou Quan was one of the criminals who would destroy the eatery where he worked.

Lou Quan's departure made him relieved. Lou Quan had exited the eatery but was suddenly blocked by four people. One of them, Lou Quan recognized.

"Give me the sword!" demanded the older brother of the fake goods seller from before.

Lou Quan glanced at the sword in his left hand. "This one?" He raised the sword.

The old man turned to the three people who came with him. They were silent for a few seconds before finally nodding.

"That's right. It's my sword! Return it!" The old man said loudly. "Return it to me because there are people who want it. I can pay you ten thousand spirit stones as compensation."

Lou Quan looked one by one at the three people. They consisted of two men and one woman. From their clothes, Lou Quan was sure they came from a wealthy family. Their clothes were of high quality and they dressed very neatly.

One of them was already gripping a sword tightly, ready to attack. But their companion stopped him.

Lou Quan looked back at the old fake goods seller. "What if I refuse?"

Before the old man could say anything, suddenly one of the three stepped forward and pointed his sword at Lou Quan's neck. His gaze was sharp, and the two companions deliberately let the man move forward.

Lou Quan only smiled slightly. "You want to take it from me? Then come and try!" Lou Quan challenged.

"You… I'll kill a kid!" shouted the man.

He immediately launched an attack at Lou Quan. The strike was very fast; Lou Quan was even scratched on his neck. Blood dripped from the wound. At that moment Lou Quan's expression turned serious.

He realized this opponent was strong. Not comparable to the people he had just defeated.

"Ah, this will be troublesome." He took a stance.

Another slash came, aiming for Lou Quan's neck. The man really wanted to kill Lou Quan. This time it could be avoided by stepping backward.

His opponent advanced and launched another quick attack. The man's movement was fast, almost 1.5 times faster than Lou Quan. His moves were also neat and sharp. If Lou Quan didn't use natural qi to speed up his movements, he would have already been dead there.

The two male companions fighting Lou Quan frowned. Lou Quan's movements were very structured. Not amateurish. Even though from his face, he looked like a teenager.

"Who is this kid? Why is he so skilled?"

His companion squinted his eyes, observing Lou Quan's movements. He tried to judge which sect Lou Quan was from, but he didn't recognize Lou Quan's style.

"He looks like a combination of various martial arts techniques." The man became interested in Lou Quan. "He's a talented kid. If he wants to hand over the Dragon Emperor's sword, then I will spare his life and recruit him into our demonic cult."

The woman next to him nodded. "Right. He could be a valuable asset in the future."

That was what they hoped for, but what was in front of them was Lou Quan. If he was the Lou Quan before, maybe he would accept that offer. But with a new soul and different memories, that changed his nature.

He was more stubborn and had high pride. Becoming someone's subordinate? That was disgusting for him, who had once been the strongest cultivator in several worlds.

Brruuush!

Suddenly, their companion was thrown back, hitting their bodies. Their companion vomited blood with a palm mark on his chest.

"You…" The woman looked at Lou Quan. "What did he do?"

Lou Quan took a stance. His eyes were sharp after receiving many wounds on his body. His enemy was faster, making him very overwhelmed. But he had a strong technique, the Buddha's Palm technique.

When he found an opening, he delivered a very strong punch and managed to injure his opponent's chest.

"Leave or I will kill you! That's my warning," Lou Quan threatened.

The two male companions did not retreat; they looked more interested. One of them took out a pill and immediately gave it to their injured companion.

"It seems we have to intervene directly." They both took a stance. "You provoked a young kid! Let's see if you still have a big mouth."

Qi surged from the two men. Their eyes were more serious. At that moment Lou Quan realized he had made the wrong decision. He had just disturbed two lions who were resting.

"Damn. I should have run away immediately."
