Chapter 14 - Rooftop Confessions, Penthouse Conditions

Where past wounds meet present heat.

Scene: Rooftop | Singhania Neev, Udaipur | 1:42 AM

The city slept under a blanket of silver moonlight. Udaipur's lakes shimmered in the distance. On the rooftop of Singhania Neev, the breeze was cooler, the silence warmer, and the stars—unapologetically bright.

Trisha and Reeva sat on a cushioned lounge bench, drinks in hand, legs casually tangled with throw blankets. The file of floor plans and render mockups was long forgotten on the nearby table.

The conversation had drifted from design... to random musings... to now — the personal.

Reeva (sipping her wine, eyes on the skyline):"So... how many relationships before?"

Trisha (without hesitation):"One serious. A few hookups. Some friends with benefits. Nothing serious since that one, though."

Reeva (nods slowly):"Same. One serious. Tried dating this guy once. It was... blehh. Just didn't work. Then, just hookups."

Trisha (tilting her head):"What was her name? The serious one. Why did you guys break up?"

Reeva paused, a muscle twitching in her jaw. Then, with brutal honesty—

Reeva:"Her name was Sakshi. She cheated on me. With a guy."(scoffs)"A guy, Trish. That stung. I mean... if I'm not enough, that's one thing. But don't lie to me and fuck around behind my back. I can't tolerate cheating."

Trisha (quietly):"Damn. That sucks."

Reeva:"What about you?"

Trisha's gaze dropped to her glass. She turned it slowly in her hand.

Trisha:"Her name was Neha. She told me I was too clingy. Too caring. Too available. Said I didn't know how to give space. She just... left. No conversation, no fight. She ghosted the relationship while I was still in it.And I—God—I loved her.Like... the kind of love where you see her even when she's not in the room. I just wanted her to feel heard. I wanted to make sure she never felt ignored or alone. But turns out... that made me the villain. It left me fucking shattered."

Silence. Thick. Heavy. Intimate.

Reeva (softly):"And now?"

Trisha (after a long pause):"Now... I don't do serious. I can't. I'm not built for another heartbreak.Because when I fall, I lose myself.I'm bad clingy.Like—wrap-you-in-my-world clingy.So now it's just... sx. No strings attached. That's safer."

Reeva (nods):"Me too."

Trisha blinked, brows arching.

Trisha:"Wait. What are you trying to say?"

Reeva (shrugs slightly, a smirk tugging her lips):"I'm saying..."

Trisha (leaning in slightly, eyes narrowing with curiosity):"What?"

Reeva (leans closer too, voice dropping):"This."

She kissed her.

A slow, heated, desperate kiss. One that tasted like past pain and present hunger. She pulled away just enough to leave space between them.

Trisha (barely whispering):"Uh... I mean... we're business partners. Is this even fair?"

Reeva (calmly):"We don't have to make it public."

Trisha (studying her):"You sure?"

Reeva (without blinking):"No strings. Just... what it is. Simple. Private."

Trisha stared at her a moment longer. Then exhaled. A tiny, sly smile appeared.

Trisha:"Alright then, Khanna. No strings. No promises. Just... this."

Reeva (smirking):"Exactly, Singhania."

And just like that — beneath a quiet sky and a blanket of blurred boundaries — the contract no one drafted was sealed with a kiss... and maybe more.
