Chapter 30 - The Guardian and ally to ally

'Making a royal into a breeder?' Amber just could not wrap her mind around this. Did she understand using breeders? Unfortunately yes. She was pretty sure little Tiffany was only around due to such a process.

This was not unheard of when looking for specific traits to be introduced and maybe even be obtained by the line as well.

But to do this with a royal? There must be some deep animosity within the family for them to consider such.

Stefan listened to the turmoil in Amber's mind a bit longer than asked "Can you discuss your ability with us? Would it help us in a confrontation?"

Talon looked to Tiffany who had resumed her place to the back of the room.

"It is a vampiric technique that has been lost for several generations. It is innate within me and I have been able to use it from a very young age. It's [Direct blood manipulation].

"I can control blood, no matter its form, location, or even the type of being it is from. I can control and manipulate it quite easily. I believe it is an asset in a conflict."

Stefan nodded in agreement then looked to Trahan. "We will follow the guardian. You and Talon and can take Tiffany to the Shadelings and see what you can find out."

He sat back in his seat.

"Let's finish this first and then decide how to deal with the vamps."

Everyone agreed.

'Tiffany. I want one of these creatures. Do you feel you could control one of them.'

There was a slight pause and he knew she was contemplating.

'I can My Lord. Probably two.'

He hated when she called him my Lord in private but he gave her a pass, again. He smiled as her heard her childish giggle in his mind. These times, when she giggled like this, we're the times she acted her true age and not as a learned adult.

'Do what you can. But only if you feel they will be of use.'

'Of course.' He felt her bow of respect flow through him in an indescribable way. And it once again had him in awe of who and what she was.

Tarhan and Talon stood as one and Amber and Stefan followed suit.

"Let's begin then." Trahan smiled. "After we will truly celebrate this union. I see now that it is truly a good thing niece. I thought my nephew had led you astray with that tournament but it seems you truly found what you had been looking for."

Amber smiled in a way that spoke of pride, gratitude, and hope. Trahan took note and led the way out of the war room.

Amber and Stefan moved through Luna Azul territory with ease. As if they had both grown up here and had seen every nook and cranny of the land. Amber was a bit perplexed at how Stefan could do this but then she remembered that he had already become pretty adept at using their connection. She believed that this was the reason.

The truth was that Stefan, as Marco, had used this land to enter both Star Fire and Dark Howl territories. And because he and a small band frequented the area so much he had decided to forge an alliance with Luna Azul.

Had Tiffany had not already Spoken with Trahan and Talon about her presence within the Star Fire ranks they probably would've given something away. Right now they merely believed that she was apart of the Dark Howl resistance that took over the pack and then formed an alliance with Luna Azul.

Marco had wisely allowed Tiffany and Jess negotiate everything. He was never seen. And because he and Jess had often been away from Silver Moon Pack no one outside the pack actually knew what they looked like.

They both sensed the guardian at the same time. He had sensed them long ago but since they were essentially his masters he did nothing, but continue his chase. He understood his purpose and he understood his masters' intent.

Amber and Stefan slowed as they neared the guardian. They were there only to observe. They sensed the others approaching a different direction but only because Tiffany was allowing them to see. The Shadelings were focused on Trahan and Talon's group and still had not noticed the guardian.

To the guardian it looked as if the werewolves had found the Shadelings as well and were there to deal with them. He did not want to be denied his prize so he doubled his efforts and moved faster towards the two groups.

Tiffany's eyes turned completely black, including the sclera, and two of the Shadelings' movements stuttered and then they froze. A second later they were gone. The others did not notice anything until they realized that they were no longer receiving commands.

Their leader and the strongest of them were both gone. As they realized rhis the werewolves retreated. They stood in silence for a moment not truly sure what to do. And this was the flaw within the average Shadeling. The average Shadeling was incapable of analysis or any type of analytical thought. They processed information well and thusly followed orders well, but to think up orders on their own was an impossibility.

Stien and Cros were very rare Shadelings and as such were very powerful. They thought for themselves, could learn, and could think both critically and analytically. It was extremely rare to have two rare shadeling types on the same mission.

Stefan smiled at Tiffany's assessment of the shadelings she captured. They had been very lucky indeed.

Just as Stefan was boasting to himself the other three Shadelings finally sensed the guardian. The three instinctively flared to life. Each had a wide band of colored aura to flare around them. They rose into the are and began to release pulses of energy into the ground below.

They were trying to seal the guardian.

As they fired into the ground they continually changed positions but in different intervals.

The Guardian was amused and moved in faster. It positioned itself under an empty patches of sky and broke through the ground and rose up.

The Guardian's vast body rose into the air, his mouth opened wide. A Shadeling appeared at the back of his throat just as he was closing his mouth, swallowing and completing his arc and on his way back to the swampy ground. The swamp parted for him like water and he disappeared into the ground. The swamp closed up behind him as if nothing had even happened.

The other two shadlings had seen the entire thing, it seemed to have happened in slow motion and still they had been frozen, unable to help their companion. They never thought to change strategies or positions they merely continued as they were.

Stefan watched in morbid fascination as the guardian rose into the air again. It was essentially a land whale. How else could he be described. It's body was wide but streamlined it used sonic resonance to burrow through and enter into the soft ground. Its long body was covered in thick fibrous hairs that he could control and helped him to move smoothly underground. His skin was like a tough leather and it was a pale grey color. It was incredibly huge and as it arched through the air the third time Stefan marveled at the sheer size of its corded muscles rippling just below its skin.

He was a truly marvelous entity and Marco wanted him.
