Fang Yang did drive here.
He also guessed what Wei Yuan was going to do. Sure enough, Wei Yuan's next sentence was to drive to his father's place right now. Fang Yang opened his mouth and looked at the ghosts in the distance, but still couldn't say no.
The Fang family was well-off, but most of the relatives were scattered abroad. Fang Yang was Fang Hongbo's only son. Later, he started a family abroad, and then Fang Hongbo lived alone.
Fang Yang started the car tremblingly, but his eyes couldn't help but glance at the rearview mirror.
A pair of red embroidered shoes sat quietly in the corner on the back seat.
There was nothing to see with the naked eye, but Fang Yang had just been opened by Liu Ye, and watched the swollen water ghost and the knife ghost with a big hole in his heart get on the car, but at this time, the effect of Liu Ye's eye-opening method expired.
There was still nothing to see with the naked eye.
But Fang Yang still felt a chill on his back.
Wei Yuan also took a sword from the wall beside him. In addition, there was a black thing with strong firepower. In front of him, sharp armor-piercing bullets were pressed into the magazine one by one. After the previous experience, Wei Yuan deeply felt the convenience of firearms.
Let alone other things, the last time he forced out the evil way of death.
If you get close, you may be in danger of being ambushed.
It is much safer to shoot one by one with long-range firearms.
The ancestor who created Taoism did not expect that there would be such a convenient thing in the future.
Fang Yang's car moved steadily on the road. Because Fang Hongbo lived in the old district, it gradually became dilapidated with the city planning. It was only eleven o'clock now, and there were no people outside. Fang Yang was distracted by looking at the empty back seat in the rearview mirror. Wei Yuan's attention made him come back to his senses.
I saw an old man in a black double-breasted clothes standing on the side of the road in front of me.
Fang Yang subconsciously stepped on the brakes and broke out in a cold sweat.
The old man stretched out his arm and made a gesture to stop the car, as if he wanted to hitchhike.
At this time, in such a place, with such a strange old man stopping the car, Fang Yang felt a sweat on his back. It was Wei Yuan holding a sword next to him that made him feel relieved, and he was about to drive around.
Wei Yuan looked at the old man with a smile, thoughtfully, and said:
"... Let him get in the car."
Fang Yang looked at Wei Yuan in disbelief, but when he encountered such a thing, he was also a little panicked, and Wei Yuan next to him seemed to be a specialist in dealing with such things. He was at a loss and had to let the old man get in the car.
When he caught up with his thoughts, the old man had already opened the car door and sat in the back seat calmly.
Fang Yang held the steering wheel and asked where he was going. After the old man answered, Fang Yang immediately felt his brain explode. The place where the old man was going was where his father lived alone before his death.
Fang Yang's heart was beating wildly, his hands on the steering wheel, and he was almost frozen.
Wei Yuan bumped him with his arm as if nothing had happened, and then he came back to his senses and started the car stiffly.
Street lights on both sides flashed by.
They had entered the old city.
There were old houses on both sides of the road, and the walls were covered with green plants such as creepers. There were old trees hanging down on both sides of the road. It was dark and gloomy. Only the sound of the car could be heard. There were three people and two ghosts in the car, and they didn't say a word.
"It's a bit boring on the road."
The old man looked at the lights outside and smiled, "Otherwise, the old man will tell a story to relieve the boredom."
Fang Yang clenched his teeth tightly and dared not speak.
Wei Yuan smiled, leaned back in his chair, and said in a relaxed manner:
"Okay."
............
In ancient times in China, which was not that ancient, there were some weird professions in the Ming Dynasty more than a hundred years ago. The most weird ones were those who made money from the living and ate the dead, such as executioners, corpse drivers, and barbers who cut the hair of the dead.
In ancient times, someone in a certain place committed a serious crime and was waiting to be beheaded at noon.
The man's uncle worked in the government office, and his family begged him to save his nephew's life, but how could he save his nephew after committing a murder? The uncle actually found a way, saying that the execution would not be carried out in the downtown area this time, and perhaps he could bribe the executioner to make a fake cut at that time, only cutting the rope and not the flesh.
At that time, the nephew would pretend to be dead and roll into the weeds and grass pile next to him, and maybe he could still survive.
But it would cost a large sum of money.
The whole family sold their belongings, and the uncle made many arrangements, and finally arranged everything.
On the day of execution, although the nephew was very nervous, he remembered his uncle's words firmly. When the knife flashed, he felt his neck loosen, and he quickly rolled into the ditch and didn't move. While he was still beheading others, he crawled to another place and ran away immediately.
Having escaped death, he was overwhelmed with sorrow and joy. The nephew ran all night and ran directly to his uncle's house.
After entering the door, he kowtowed and thanked for saving his life.
But the uncle was frightened and pale.
It turned out that the executioner had something to do today and was temporarily replaced, and the knife had already landed.
When the nephew heard about this, his face changed, and he reached out and touched his neck. The body was separated and he died on the spot.
After the story was told, Fang Yang's face turned pale.
His father died four months ago, but now he is still alive like a normal person.
Could it be the same?
From the rearview mirror, the old man seemed to be smiling at him. The old man slowly said: "This is to say, to say it, some people die, but they don't know they are dead, and they still think they are alive and live with normal people, but once it is said, they will fall to the ground and die immediately."
Fang Yang felt that the old man's words were pointed, and his hands were holding the steering wheel, which was pale.
At this time, Wei Yuan smiled, adjusted the position of the broken sword, and said:
"Speaking of this, I also saw a story recently."
.........
It was also an evil business that was not considered low-class in ancient times.
Robbing graves and eating the dead.
In ancient times, there were two brothers in Handan City. They were ignorant and had to do the business of robbing people's graves. When they robbed graves, they were different from others. The two brothers divided the work. The eldest brother was strong and wore black clothes to rob graves at night, while the second brother pretended to be a ghost to prevent accidents.
If he was unlucky and was discovered, he would wear a white dress and pretend to be a ghost.
People passing by were already terrified because of walking in the cemetery. They were scared and turned around and ran away. The two relied on this method to travel all over the country and get what they wanted. One day, they took advantage of the dark and windy night to prepare to rob a new grave.
When they arrived at the place, they found that their colleagues had already taken the lead, and they were dressed exactly the same as themselves.
The two brothers talked about it, "They must be people of the same trade."
The business of tomb robbing has always only depended on the level of skills, regardless of whether you come first or later.
The two brothers stared at the tomb for a long time, and they dared not give up. They thought that all tomb robbers must fear ghosts and gods, and they were less courageous when robbing tombs. They might as well scare them away and pretend to be evil spirits.
The elder brother took a few steps and looked at the two men carefully. Although they were dressed in black and white, they wore high hats and held chains and mourning sticks in their hands. He was shocked and sweated coldly. They were not colleagues at all. They were clearly the Black and White Impermanence who came to take souls. But the younger brother behind him couldn't bear it and screamed like a ghost.
It would have been better if he didn't scream. Once he screamed, his younger brother's life was lost.
The two turned around and ran towards the second brother. The eldest brother was stiff and couldn't move, and the younger brother fell to the ground and was caught up by the Black and White Impermanence.
The Black and White Impermanence laughed creepily: "Just use him to complete the task." As he spoke, the chain hooked the younger brother, pulled out his soul, and disappeared in a flash. The elder brother hurried forward to touch his brother, but he had no breath. Later, he realized that the tomb was empty. It was a way for the dying people to avoid death and to confuse the ghost. It was a pity that the two brothers came forward at this time and became scapegoats.
This second story was also very evil, and Fang Yang's scalp broke out in cold sweat.
At this time, in front of him was the place where Fang Hongbo lived alone, but Fang Yang couldn't step on the accelerator.
The old man looked in the direction of Wei Yuan and said:
"Brother, this story is about being careful of those who are dying but not dead, and not getting close to them easily, otherwise they will become scapegoats, right?"
Fang Yang's palm trembled.
Wei Yuan smiled and said:
"No, it's not. It's just that two brothers pretended to be ghosts to scare people, but they really encountered a ghost."
"You don't know whether it's fake or real, but you have to bump into it yourself."
The old man didn't understand what he meant, but a fishing net came out from nowhere and covered his head directly. The mysterious old man didn't react. He struggled hard in shock, but he couldn't get rid of it at all. In a blink of an eye, he was tied up tightly by the fishing net.
When Wei Yuan was telling the story just now, the water ghost and the knife ghost in the back seat tried to find out that the old man didn't have any real skills, but it was obviously related to Fang Hongbo's affairs. After Wei Yuan finished the last sentence, the two ghosts understood and grabbed him directly.
This catch turned out to be not an old man at all, but a man in his forties.
He just made up to look like an old man.
Wei Yuan had long wanted to find the person who spread the evil magic, but he didn't expect that he would run into him in this way. At this time, Fang Yang finally drove the car in front of the building. His palms were bruised and white. Wei Yuan carried the man out of the car, and Fang Yang finally stood at the door.
Slowly raised his hand and knocked on the door.
Dang, dang, dang——
"Dad?"
ps: The source of the story is a folk story I saw by chance, which was slightly adapted and added for embellishment.
In order to introduce the current situation less dryly~
I checked the origins. The first one said it came from the storytelling club, and some said it was "Nan Huaijin Book". There is also a similar scene in the movie "Xi Zhao". The second one seems to come from Ji Xiaolan's "Yuewei Caotang Notes". Of course, it is not rigorous. After all, I haven't seen it in person, so everyone just takes it as a joke~
