Chapter 6 - Thoughts and More Thoughts.

Damien had many expectations for himself.

He expected himself to somewhat keep up with his father in terms of pure swordsmanship, have near-perfect academics, and knowledge of the nightmare realm, and overall become a worthy heir to the Veilbound clan. Maybe even bring it up in the rankings a little bit.

In the process of achieving all of these tasks did he also expect that he should have a normal and useful aspect and related attributes...

What the hell even are these attributes and this aspect!?

Even with the extensive knowledge he had and the countless textbooks he read and practically memorised, none of them talk about any attributes even remotely similar to these not to mention the aspect.

The [Fated] Attribute seemed to be a curse and a blessing? It probably influenced his "luck" in both a positive and negative way, he just wouldn't know how or when.

The [Crown of Thorns] Attribute seemed fairly straightforward, though, thankfully. Damien assumed that it simply provided good resistance to mind attacks, he didn't really understand the latter part though. A part of him didn't want to.

The [Rune Veil] Attribute was something he was finally familiar with. Most of his family had similar attributes. If his family had a legacy system, this would definitely be one of the rewards the spell would provide. In a sense, this was even better because he didn't have to work for it.

Yeah right, legacy systems have higher potentials and offer greater and greater rewards. This Is just a one-time thing.

The thing that intrigued him to the most, maybe aside from his seemingly useless aspect, was the [Star of Divinity] rune.

He had read about people with affinities for divinity but usually they would appear as "Spark of Divinity" and there was even one recorded case of somebody with an "Ember of Divinity". He didn't think there was anything higher or if there was, it would simply be too rare for anybody to receive.

Another strange thing was the description.

I was considered to be divine? Like a god or something? Pretty cool... why was I an outcast though?

Damien gave up on trying to figure out what exactly his attributes were.

His main priority right now was getting out of this place alive.

He obviously couldn't just barge out there again having no idea what to do, he needed to make a plan.

He then decided to test out something.

It had been quite a while since he entered this room, and the "Void Servant" still hadn't appeared or showed any signs of aggression towards him.

He was almost sure at first that the creature could break into this room any time he wanted but now that notion of thought was slowly starting to change.

Instead, he was starting to think that this room acted as a type of "safe-zone" and if this room acted as a haven, then other rooms could too.

Ultimately, he knew that this wouldn't end till he actually defeated the creature but he had absolutely no weapons and his aspect nor attributes seemed very combat orientated.

Yeah, I might be screwed.
