Breathing out, Evelyn shook her head.
"No. Don't worry. I'm perfectly fine." She said, "Thank you, Amber."
Amber was very silent on the other side of the phone, but she did eventually agree. [Well, you're welcome. Talk to me when you feel like it, alright?]
"Mhm."
The call ended.
Evelyn stared at the phone.
She stood to her feet, abandoning her coffee. She walked off to the room where she shut the door behind her, locking it.
Then she pressed her back against the door and slid to the floor, face buried in her knees that were pulled to her chest.
She felt…broken…and she couldn't even explain how.
Why was she feeling this way about a man she didn't even think she loved? Was it the kiss? Was it what started all this?
If they'd never kissed, could all this have been avoided? She wouldn't be seated here moping as if she hadn't been the cause of the entire thing.
