"Yes. He's downstairs waiting." Lucia asked, "Are you unable to see him? I can ask him to—"
"No, no, it's fine. I'll see what he needs." Evelyn smiled at her and grabbed her bag from the counter. "Don't worry."
She left the bathroom, making her way to the elevator.
What the heck was Valerio doing here? Setting aside her little argument with Zayne, she really wanted nothing to do with this man. But somehow, he just kept being so persistent.
First at the event, and now at her company too?
The doors of the elevator chimed open and she stepped out. Her eyes searched around, halting at the entrance of the company where he of course stood, one hand in his pocket and the other holding the phone he was browsing through.
As if noticing her, he lifted his head, taking off his sunglasses.
"Evelyn."
His lips stretched as he beamed.
Evelyn didn't return the gesture, but instead approached with a frown on her face. "What are you doing here?" she questioned.
