Chapter 4 - Episode 4: Caught in the Middle

Sunlight spilled through the curtains. A breeze teased the edges of the sheets.

A whisper grazed her ear.

"Wake up."

She moved before thinking—years of assassin instinct igniting. She grabbed the intruder's arm, twisted her body—and slammed him onto the bed.

She blinked sleepily, still half-dreaming.

Then, casually, she rested her head on his chest and let sleep take her again.

He froze.

She snored.

After a long moment, he slowly brushed a strand of hair from her face, tucking it behind her ear. He stared at her, eyes softening.

Then he whispered again—louder, teasing.

"Wake up! We're under attack!"

Her eyes snapped open as she leapt up, stance ready, like a blade in motion.

He burst into laughter.

"What's so funny?"she replied annoyed

She rubbed her temple, groaned, and tossed a pillow at him. "Go get ready. Aren't you late too?"

At School

The academy's campus was massive, Gothic architecture towering like ancient spires around them. Students rushed across the grounds in perfect uniforms and polished shoes.

Lyra headed toward the student council office, trying not to look too out of place. She needed her ID and schedule.

"Lyra!"

She paused.

A familiar voice rang out, and when she turned, she saw a girl waving furiously—short bob, round glasses, bright smile.

"I've been calling you forever! Didn't you hear me?"

She replied awkwardly, "yeah..I mean..hi"..

They laughed and walked toward the council building—until shrill voices suddenly cut through the air.

Screams. Squeals.

The two turned just in time to see two tall boys standing near the courtyard fountain, surrounded by staring students.

One had sleek black hair and sharp crimson eyes.

The other had dark blue hair, his gaze cool and unreadable.

They stood facing each other, tension simmering between them like sparks before a wildfire.

"Who are they?"she asked

"look the black haired one is the famous CEO of hy group" ,her friend replied

"And blue haired one in his famous rival....and there are rumers of his family having mafia background.."

( CEO at this age...and mafia background what's wrong with this school do they don't check there backgrounds or ...")--suprised

Suddenly, both of them turned toward her at the same time. Their gazes locked with hers—and didn't let go.

("What..why are they staring at me...wait do they also think that I am a conartist...they don't.. do they??)

Then, just as suddenly, they turned and walked off in opposite directions, leaving a trail of whispers behind them.

In the Classroom

Lyra stood at the door, heartbeat pounding.

She took a deep breath and stepped in—only to stop short.

There they were.

The black-haired boy sat on the left side. The blue-haired one on the right. A single empty seat lay between them.

The teacher looked up. "Ah, new transfer. You may sit… there."

He pointed to the seat between them.

She swallowed.

(Just what on the earth is wrong with everyone here...can't he he tell that bench was left empty because of a purpose....it was the wall ..between them.....)

She stepped forward, aware of both pairs of eyes following her every move.

And just like that—she found herself stuck between the Vampire Lord and the Werewolf Alpha.

Literally.
