Ava's POV
I swear to God, if Meilin clung to Theo Ashford any harder, she'd fuse into his bloodstream.
I was this close to staging an intervention.
We were at the university café, the sun was barely up, and there she was—our very own legal prodigy—sitting practically on Theo's lap in a booth. Her arms were looped around his like he was some kind of life-saving flotation device, her cheek squished against his bicep, her voice all sugary as she whispered, "Are you sure you ate enough? Want my muffin? Or my soul? Honestly, take both."
I nearly spat out my coffee.
Austin leaned toward me from across the table, whispering, "How long do you think it'll take before she starts cutting his food and feeding him with airplane noises?"
I snorted. "Give it a week."
Theo didn't even blink. He looked like this was the most normal thing on the planet, casually sipping his drink with that annoyingly smug smirk like yes, I am a literal Greek god, and yes, my girlfriend is glued to me. Any questions?
Meilin tilted her head to look up at him with the softest eyes known to mankind. "You remembered to take your vitamins today?"
This was the girl who once argued with a professor about constitutional law and made him apologize.
Now? She was massaging Theo's shoulders like his personal wife. Publicly.
Austin whispered, "How long do you think before she starts filling out wedding paperwork?"
I was wheezing.
But the worst part?
Theo was so into it. The tattoos, the piercings, the brooding 'bad boy' energy—it all melted every time she kissed his cheek or brushed his hair from his eyes like he was some delicate boyband member.
"Oh my god," I muttered, "this is so domestic I'm going to vomit glitter."
"You're just jealous," Meilin said sweetly without looking at me, still brushing invisible dust off Theo's shirt.
"I'm literally in a relationship," I pointed out.
"And yet," she smiled, finally looking my way, "I have the prettier boyfriend."
Austin choked. "Excuse me—"
Theo just raised an eyebrow and gave Meilin a lazy kiss on her temple, drawing even more sighs from people at the other tables.
"I rest my case," Meilin said, smirking proudly.
I groaned, dramatically hiding my face behind my coffee. "You guys are like a Valentine's Day ad. I'm getting cavities."
She reached across and patted my hand. "Don't worry. We'll let you third-wheel."
"I have a boyfriend," I repeated, glaring at Austin.
He shrugged. "You say that, but have you ever sat on my lap while feeding me muffins?"
"…No."
"Exactly," Meilin and Theo said in unison.
I was done.
