Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: The Proposition

It took a good ten minutes for the duo to get cleaned up, but they left the bathroom hand in hand and looking to see if anyone was watching them, which it appeared there weren't any. Although looking down on the rest of the club, he could tell more people were in the building than when he'd entered the bathroom for his fun-time with Misty.

The duo make their way back to Shelly's bar, and when she noticed Misty walking gingerly and looking a bit worse for wear she laughed heartily.

"The triumphant return!" Shelly announced.

Misty nodded, looking exasperated. "I'm not gonna walk right for a week."

Shelly's jaw dropped. "That good of a dicking?" she paused. "I'm impressed dude. How was she?" she said, indicating Jack.

Jack shrugged. "I don't kiss and tell."

"Smart man. What can I get pouring for you?" Shelly asked.

"Besides some waters?" Jack said. "A beer for me."

"Just water for me," Misty said, still breathing a little strained. "Need to recover a bit."

"Be right up with those," Shelly said.

Jack looked around the venue, noticing a lot of people were gathering over at the battle book. "So what's going on over there now?" Jack asked, pointing behind him.

Shelly placed the beer and a water in front of him before putting another glass of water in front of Misty. "The battle book can't officially take bets on in-house battles, but there are plenty of bookies who do it unofficially," Shelly said.

Jack wanted to mention that sounded like something that would get the establishment shut down, but he remembered an ex-mob boss ran it. "Doubt the cops come here much," he thought silently.

"Who's battling tonight?" Misty asked.

Shelly shrugged. "Check the social media account."

Misty whipped her phone out, swiping around until she got to her desired page, then she grinned. "Yes, we get to see her tonight."

"Hm?" Jack asked, putting down his beer after taking a couple gulps.

"She's probably the best trainer in the amateur league. Her name's Zinnia. She's an amazing dragon pokemon user," Misty explained. "And she's a friend."

"Really?" Jack asked, his curiosity piqued.

"Yeah. Not a lot of ladies are in the league, I was a part of it last season. We got to know each other pretty well," Misty explained.

"Cool..." Jack said. "Think she'd want a job?"

"Dunno. She never mentioned what she did for work."

Jack shrugged and took a sip of beer, then he remembered the brief elevator encounter with the girl working at the strip club. "Thinking of any plans for us at the strip club?" he asked Misty.

Misty thought for a second then nodded. "Oh yeah, that girl looked hot."

"I got warned there were a couple ladies who charge too little to mess around," Jack said.

"What? By who?" Misty asked suspiciously.

"An acquaintance." Jack said, Misty's eyes scoured him for clues. "She used to work there apparently."

"Really?"

"Yeah," Jack answered.

"And when did this happen?" Misty asked.

Jack smiled. "What, getting jealous already?"

Misty scoffed. "No!" she protested. Shelly turned around with a bit of concern. "As your bodyguard I'm supposed to know these things."

"Oh yeah," Jack said. "It's more complicated than me meeting someone. Hilda can probably explain it better."

"Hilda?" Misty asked.

"My assistant."

"Ah," Misty paused. "I bet she won't be too happy about our, uh... arrangement."

"She will be irate," Jack said. "But give her time. She's prickly to newcomers."

"She cute?" Misty asked.

"Yeah," Jack said. "Anyways, I met a young woman who used to work at the strip club, and she said they'd love a guy like me," Misty rolled her eyes. "Well, just money wise," Jack explained. "She said some will do ya for the right price. But some were too cheap if you know what I'm saying."

Misty nodded. "Yeah, I get you," she then giggled a little bit.

"What's up?" he asked. He turned to her and saw her eyes fixated on his crotch area, and he realized he was hardening up again, and it was noticeable.

Misty shook her head in disbelief. "That thing is insatiable."

"Been like that since I got to Alola," Jack said. "Like my libido is turned up to eleven."

"I know guys get horny a lot, but usually the 'hardware' isn't able to keep up," Misty said. She licked her lips. "Damn I can still almost taste it."

Jack smiled. "We just got back though," Jack said.

Misty shook her head. "And I'm tapped out, boss," she said. "Still quite sore."

"Oh, I'm sorry," Jack said quickly, panic in his voice.

"No-no, no need to apologize... it's just... a good sore. Hard to explain," Misty said, then finished taking the last sip of her water and looked over at Shelly. "Shelly, hear anything about the strip club down the street?"

Shelly came over nodded with a big grin on her face. "Oh yeah."

"Any tips?" Misty asked. "Thinking I want to take this guy there."

Shelly raised her eyebrows. "Lucky man."

Jack nodded, and gave Misty a kiss on the cheek, to which she blushed. "Yes I am."

"I hear it's pretty good." Misty began.

"It's the best in Alola for sure." Shelly said.

"We shared an elevator with a really hot girl who said she works there," Jack said. "She was coming for a pre-work drink?"

"A few of 'em do." Shelly said. "Get a name?"

"Marnie?" Misty said questioningly.

Shelly smiled. "She's a looker that one," Shelly then put her hands over her boobs to symbolize a large bust. "Big naturals on her too."

"Oh yeah," Jack said.

"She's friends with my little sister," Shelly said.

Misty and Jack's jaws dropped. "You have a sister?" Jack asked.

Shelly nodded. "Yeah, her name's Nessa. She works there too."

Jack felt awkward suddenly.

"I'm only telling you cuz I'm sure she'll give you a good time, and you are quite the tipper," Shelly said, then she turned away for a moment.

Jack followed her eyes, and a bright red-haired woman in a silver dress had approached the bar staring intently at the three.

"Ariana, hi?" Shelly asked, sounding a bit guilty.

"Gotta steal your friend from you for a bit. Boss wants to meet him," the woman named Ariana explained, indicating Jack.

"The boss?" Misty said, a bit of fear sprinkling into her voice.

"Mr. Giovanni?" Jack asked.

Ariana nodded. "Yeah Mr. Cobal," she then rotated her hand, indicating the way she was to lead him. "If you would follow me."

Jack looked to Misty, who seemed a bit nervous. "I'll be alright," Jack said, feeling his boner shrink. Even he felt pretty apprehensive. "The guy is retired, right?" he asked himself.

He followed Ariana to the elevator, going to the third floor. Instead of going the way to the private bathroom he'd fucked Misty in, they went the other way, with a glitzy bar and lounge overlooking the venue. He saw the luxurious booth and a man who oozed presence. He wore a black suit and slacks, a white shirt, and a red "G" on his coat pocket. He had a glass of some brownish liquid.

"Here you are, Mr. Cobal," Ariana said.

"Mr. Giovanni?" Jack asked, his voice filled with much more anxiety than he'd wanted.

"Giovanni's my first name." he said sternly, then smiled. "Have a seat."

Jack felt tense, like a business deal was about to be negotiated. He felt much more sober now, thankfully. "Great spot you have here," Jack said, eyeing the balcony overlooking the three floors of the enormous Battle Club venue.

"Thank you," Giovanni said, taking a sip of what Jack figured was probably whiskey, unflinchingly. "It doesn't have the glitz and glamour of the clubs in Castelia, but it suits me just fine," Giovanni then fixed his attention on Jack. "Drink?"

"Sure uh," Jack eyed Giovanni's glass. "Just a whiskey on the rocks?"

Giovanni nodded his head with approval and held up his glass so Ariana would see. He then put up two fingers with his other hand, then took a large sip. "I'm surprised you're out and about with no bodyguards."

Jack smiled sheepishly. "I haven't hired any, yet. I was supposed to lay low for a few days, not attract any attention."

Giovanni smirked. "It's a good thing you got found out, actually."

"Hm?"

"You've heard of me, so you probably know a little about me..."

"Nothing too specific," Jack said.

"Indulge me," Giovanni said, almost stern.

"Someone told you used to be a-" Jack paused for a moment. "...A person with their finger in many pots."

Giovanni laughed. "I suppose that's good enough," Ariana arrived with the drinks, placing one in front of each of them. "Thanks Ari," Giovanni grunted before finishing his current drink and handing it to the red-head.

Ariana departed swiftly and Giovanni fixated his gaze on Jack again. "I used to be the head of a very unsavory organization far away," Giovanni explained. "Those days are firmly behind me now. But most of that business was information gathering, and old habits die hard I guess," Giovanni said. "I knew you were coming to Alola a couple weeks ago."

"Really?"

"Yeah really," Giovanni said. "The island's pretty small, and it's only got one airport. Your company sets up a time for you to arrive..."

"Ah," Jack said. He wasn't sure if Giovanni was threatening him. He remembered an old token of knowledge and tried something a bit off-kilter and gave his voice an accent. "What's next, you say 'a Pikipek doesn't shit on this island without me knowin' about it' or something like that?"

GIovanni cackled. "That's almost spot on," Giovanni said. "Accent-wise."

"So I CAN shit without you knowing about it?" Jack said with a grin.

"Sure, just make sure to use the forgotten bathroom when you do," Giovanni said. "That red-head of yours seems like a real slice of heaven. Girl couldn't even walk straight when you two came out."

Jack's grin vanished. He tried to laugh to play it off, but it just sounded like he was even more nervous than when he first sat down. "She's cool. Was thinking of hiring her to be a bodyguard."

"Not a bad idea, she's a solid trainer," Giovanni said. "As long as she doesn't get too attached."

"She knows she won't be alone."

"Good," Giovanni said. "Girls are better that way," he then pointed at Ariana. "Ari here, she's loyal, she keeps my secrets. She knows she's not alone."

"Very cool," Jack said.

"Where was I?" Giovanni said, thinking out loud. "Oh yeah, I knew you were comin' here weeks ago. And any one who's got a good ear to the ground on this island knew too. It's a good thing you know that others know you're here."

"Okay..."

"Now, I'm friends with these people, they're small time compared to what I used to do," Giovanni took a sip of his drink. "What are you doin', drink up," Giovanni said.

Jack eyed his drink and did so. It was definitely the smoothest liquor he'd ever had in his life, although it still burned going down a bit. as it was still liquor. He tried not to react, and thought he was successful, until he tried to open his mouth. "Ihhhhu," he cleared his throat. Giovanni continued staring him down, unflinchingly. "Sorry," Jack said. "So you're saying those folks are interested in me?"

Giovanni shrugged. "Kinda. If you leave yourself open like you've been doing today."

"So, bodyguards?" Jack asked.

"That too, but I'm saying a business partnership," Giovanni said. "This ain't no protection racket, those days are behind me. But I hear a lot of chatter here in Alola, anything you find relevant, I could fill you in."

"For a price I, assume?" Jack said.

"You don't gotta put labels on it," Giovanni said, cracking a smile. Jack chuckled as a form of politeness.

"Sounds a lot like insurance," Jack said. "How much?"

Giovanni sipped his drink, studying Jack some more.

"Don't tell me you've got gold and platinum plan levels," Jack joked.

Giovanni cackled. "Fuck, I should," he said. "But I call it Gio's VIP Service."

"Does that include being a VIP here?" Jack said.

"Clever," Giovanni said. "And yeah, it does. Here and the strip club."

"So whatever I do there...?"

"Doesn't leave the building," Giovanni said. "Same goes for here, unless you're making a spectacle of yourself," Giovanni then smiled greedily. "The girls at the titty bar would love a guy like you."

Jack started to blush. "How much?"

"You'll still pay full price wherever you go. But your privacy is secured. And you got my ear."

"How much? I know it's gonna be a lot."

Giovanni smiled. "Fifty grand for the year."

It was Jack's turn to study Giovanni, he did so for half a minute. He smirked. "Next year you have blackmail on me and the price doubles, is that the game?"

Giovanni shrugged. "Well, depends on how much noise you make on Melemele."

"I'll give you 100 grand a year for the next five years, how's that sound?"

"What's with the extra?" Giovanni said.

"For your friendship," Jack said, raising his glass. "Giovanni."

Giovanni smiled proudly. "Fair enough Mr. Cobal," he cheersed Jack and they both finished their drinks.

"Can I just put it on my card?" Jack asked, reaching for his wallet.

"Uh... yeah," Giovanni said, sounding surprised for the first time. "If that's easiest. I figured you'd just wire me the money sometime this week."

Jack shook his head. "I'd prefer to be a VIP sooner than later," Jack said.

Giovanni flagged down Ariana.

"What's up?" Ariana asked.

"We got a brand new VIP right here," Giovanni said.

Ariana eyed Jack. "Cool," she then leaned over to Giovanni, who whispered in her ear. She jerked her head up when she heard the price and looked at Jack.

"Wants to be my friend," Giovanni said jokingly.

"My friendship's a lot cheaper than that," Ariana said. "I'll be right back."

"So, what were your plans for the rest of the night?" Giovanni asked.

Jack thought back to the encounter with Marnie. "The girl I'm with said something about going to the strip club later."

Giovanni smiled. "I'll tell 'em you're coming," Giovanni said. "It's a world class set of girls if I say so myself."

"I saw one," Jack said, not wanting to mention Selene due to her recent companion. "And she definitely is."

"Who?"

"Marnie."

Giovanni smiled. "She'll catch your eye. "

Ariana returned to the table with his card. "I'm surprised it went through."

"You're too used to me and my buds," Giovanni said, then pointed at Jack. "To real wealth, that ain't shit."

Jack put his card back in his pocket, feeling a bit poorer than before, but if Giovanni held up his end, it would be a far better deal than expected.

"I think it's time I get back to my lady-friend," Jack said.

"Alright, I'll tell the club you're coming," Giovanni said with a wink. "It's been a pleasure doing business with you, Jack."

"Same," Jack said. "I look forward to hanging out here much more often."

"Oh you're gonna enjoy yourself, I promise you," Giovanni said.

"Sounds great," Jack said.

"See you around."

With that, Jack left the booth and headed back down the stairs. He was still decently impaired, but not sloppy. He found Misty sitting alone on her phone sipping on a glass of water. Jack marched in triumphantly and gave Misty a kiss.

"Hey, how'd it go?" she asked.

"Pretty well I think," Jack said.

"What did he want?"

"To be friends," he replied.

"What?"

Jack made sure Shelly was out of earshot before mentioning anything. He then spoke lowly. "He said he's aware of the underworld here in Alola, said he'd give me tips in case I or anything I'm interested in is a part of the chatter."

Misty hemmed and hawed. "You really think you'll need it?"

Jack shrugged. "Would rather be safe then sorry," Jack then remembered the other benefit. "I also get the 'VIP' treatment."

"Which means?"

"As long as me and my crew don't make spectacles of ourselves, what we do here and in the strip club stays private," Jack explained.

"So he just wanted to be a billionaire's friend? What's the catch?"

"A hundred grand." Jack said lowly.

Misty's eyebrows rose.

Jack shrugged. "I'm thinking of it like insurance. And I'd like to be cool here and the-"

Shelly pulled up. "Welcome back, hope things with the boss went well."

"That they did," Jack replied. "Can I get a water?"

"Yes of course," Shelly said, departing for a bit.

"...Being cool at the strip club seems like a good idea," Jack said.

Misty blushed. "You're gonna have a lot of fun there," she said, indicating his cock.

Jack smiled excitedly. "Yes we will."
