Chapter 2 - Act II

Isaac continued his journey in finding this so called "heirloom". The arrow still pointing towards northwest, he jumped across a river and strolled through several other towns. Then after 2 hours in, he stumble across a forest fulled of mists.

"Misty Forest huh? Looks like it."

The forest was covered with mist and filled with tall birch trees. Isaac slowly ambled into the forest, he could barely see anything within due to the mists' thickness. He fully relied on the glowing arrow of the compass to lead the way. Strolling into the forest, there was barely anything to see.

"I have a bad feeling about this." his heart started to pump faster, sweating a bit and pupils dilating. Its as if something is watching him within the mist. He ignored such feeling, braven himself to keep going and after a few minutes he stumble into a large stone door. He stopped and observed.

"Definitely looks like a dungeon. Now how do I open it?"

Clearing his mind, he then remembered the old man said,

"Enter dungeon...*cough*....use tool...open door *cough cough cough*."

Isaac observed the compass, figuring out what did the old man mean by that. He tiptoed closer to the door. The door looks old and ancient, there were cracks and some moss on it and he also saw a circle-shaped hole on the left side of the door. The hole was the same size as the compass, Isaac got an idea.

"If the tool he meant was the compass, and this hole is a keyhole. Then the most obvious answer would be-"

Isaac inserted the compass into the hole. A brighter blue light resonated from the compass. Not only was the compass glowing, the door started to shake and emit blue light as well. Loud noises coming from the inside, sounded like heavy objects falling. Afterwards, the door slowly opened. Breeze of winds rapidly escape from the inside. It was dark, pitch-black. Isaac felt a little hesitant to keep going further, who knows what lies within that door.

"This definitely doesn't feel right."

His legs started to tremble and shiver, the fear of the unknown. Taking a deep breath, clenched his fists, he braven up and march into the dungeon.

As he step foot inside the dungeon, the door suddenly, closed.

"AHHH THE DOORR ITS CLOSED!!??!"

Isaac panicked, he was not prepared for such turn of events. He started running in circles, panicking.

"WHAT AM I GONNA DO!!??"

As he was panicking, the walls of dungeon started litten up. Torches on the wall lit up a trail. Isaac tried to relax, and think about his next move.

"Panicking won't be any good of use, I'm guessing this path leads to that "heirloom". Maybe there is a way out over there."

He proceed ambling through the trail. The trail didnt seem to end anytime soon. Isaac lost track of time but his legs are getting sore.

"When is this trail going enndddd?? I cant feel my leeeggsss." says Isaac in exhaustion.

After possibly a thousand more steps, the trail ended and he reach an enormous chamber room. The ceiling was about 50 metres tall and shaped like a dome. Large stone pillar supporting the chamber, human-size statues holding spears around the parameter. In the middle, a pedestal with a statue of a serpent dragon spiraling it, a brown and black pattern vase, placed on top of it.

"Didn't the old man said his heirloom was a vase?" Isaac cleared his mind and remembered what the old man said.

"Heirloom...*cough*...shape like...*cough* vase."

"Seems like this is the one."

Isaac ambled closer to the pedestal and took a closer look at it.

"This thing does look ancient." He examined the vase's characteristics, its about 10 inches in height and black dragon patterns on it. There was also some ancient text that he couldn't read. He then took hold off the vase by helding it within his arms.

"Alright, objective secured. Time to find a way out."

As he turn and walk away from the pedestal, the dragon statue's eyes glow.

Isaac observed the chamber, trying to find a way out. All of a sudden...

"Is there really no way out. I guess I shou-"

"SSHHLUUCKK"

....he felt a warm touch went through him.

"Wha- what the.."

An iron spear pierced through his left lung.

"*cough cough cough*

Blood coughed out of his mouth, his lungs are bleeding heavily. The spear then pulled out of his lungs, causing more blood to leave his body. Isaac looked behind him, he witnessed a statue holding a blood-stained iron spear. He then realize its the same statue around the chamber.

"Dont tell me....*cough cough*.. these guys move."

The other statues around the chamber started to shiver, then, they moved.

"You've got to...*cough cough* be kidding me." Isaac tried to back away,

he is having an insane hard time breathing, his hands held tight to the vase. There are about 12 statues within the chamber, with no way of escape, Isaac's only option was to fight back.

"I aint dying...*cough*...yet."

He unsheathes the longsword on his back, preparing to fight, even though he is in no condition to fight. Isaac held the longsword up and pointed towards the statues faces. The statues slowly marching to approached him.

"Heh, come at me y-"

"SCHLOOOKK"

In a blink of an eye, another spear penetrated through him, right kidney decapicated. He screamed like metal against stone, his cry of pain echoed within the chamber. His clothes tainted in red blood, coughing blood and his eyes turned bright red.

"It...*cough*...hurts."

Isaac hold tight to the vase, although his body is about to collapse. He let go of his sword, and tried doing the impossible. Light particles glowing on his right palm.

"Worths...the shot."

His palm glowed brighter, planning to blast a simple magic bolt to the statue. However, the light suddenly faded.

"Shit not now."

As he tried to move an inch, a statue blink in front of him and delivered a powerful roundhouse kick to his neck. Blood sprayed out of his mouth. To make matters worse, the vase he held tightly escaped his hands from the kick's impact and fell to the ground. The impact of the fall caused the vase to....break.

"Shii-"

His body was sent flying and smashed towards a pillar. Blood was everywhere on his body, a broken skull, parts of his intestines hanging out of his body. The pain became unbearable. Everything turned white, death was only 2 fingers away. In his last moments, his mind was the only thing he had left.

"Is this...how my life...ends."

Statues march slowly towards Isaac, with their spears dragging the floor. They circled around him, preparing another impaling strike. Eyes half-open, seeing life flashing before his eyes, unpleasent memories flown into his mind

"Are you seriously planning to join the knights?"

"You can't even wield magic kid."

"Give up kid, lowsy commoners like us got no shit in that place."

His dream was to become a knight. Fighting to protect people he cared about and fighting alongside the Sanctuary of Light. However, people never believed in him, everyone told him it is impossible. Except for one.

"Joining the knights? Thats sounds amazing!"

"Huh? People usually laugh at this? I don't care what people think. I believe you can make it."

Matilda's voice all of sudden pop up in his mind. Isaac, lost all hope to live anymore.

"I'm sorry Matty...I didn't make it. Looks like...your right old man."

He sighs one last time

"I wish I can use magic."

Isaac closed his eyes, the spears were only an inch away and...

A black shadowy aura went through Isaac's mouth. His body began to tinggle and shiver. As the spear was about to thrust into him, his body vanished.

Their spears hit the ground, and the statues became confused with such turn of events. Only then to realize, he was behind them. White pupilless eyes, body covered in blood and standing still with his head slightly tilted to the left.

One of the statues with no hesitation, rushed towards him pointing its spear. As it rushed, Isaac's body dashed beside him with his palm smashing on the statue's face. The statue caught by surprised, didn't manage to keep up with such speeds, his face was instantly crushed by Isaac's palm.

Isaac's body stood still and glared at the statues, his eyes were pale white

The statues stood still preparing their next attack but only to be strike first by Isaac.

His fists instantly went through the statues heads and breaking them off. Shattering into pieces.

The statues tried impaling him from the sides. Isaac's movements are beyond human. He dodge the attacks and simultaneously destroyed the statues.

Afterwards, he grabbed one of thier arms, and threw it's body to the wall, instantly breaking it into pieces.

He has not utter a single word at all.

Isaac picked up a spear on the ground and thrust it through the remaining statues.

The twelve statues that had the upper hand earlier, now had crumbled by the one they had brought near to death. The floor was covered with the statues' debris. The chamber went silent. Everything happened so fast. Isaac stood motionless, remained silent and collapsed to the floor.
