Chapter 6 - Takemi: I Want Both Fame and Fortune

"Kakashi's Lightning Release."

After separating from Kakashi, Takemi quickly ran towards his home.

At this moment, he felt his head swell as a large amount of knowledge had flooded into his mind.

The system's way of handing out rewards was actually very simple and crude. It would directly stuff things into his mind, including a series of knowledge on how to use, how to perform, and so on.

Of course, the drawbacks were also obvious. For example, while he indeed becomes proficient with the skill, whether his body is compatible with it is hard to say.

Furthermore, the massive influx of knowledge doesn't give him a feeling of swimming in an ocean of knowledge.

Instead, it feels like his brain is itching, giving him the illusion that it's growing.

"Also, these Lightning Release ninjutsu are too extreme, aren't they?"

As he reviewed the information in his mind, Takemi felt a headache. Kakashi was indeed skilled in many Lightning Release ninjutsu.

However, most of them were derived from Chidori, which seemed to be of less value to him who didn't possess the Sharingan.

But...

"They can all be modified!"

Pondering the information in his mind, Takemi's expression turned strange.

He discovered something very interesting. It seemed genuinely not difficult for him to change these ninjutsu.

This wasn't like carving a statue on an Earth Style Wall. It was changing the entire method, even altering its very nature.

If it were a normal ninja, such an outrageous idea would definitely not come to their mind.

However, having already learned all that Kakashi knew about Lightning Release through the system, coupled with his own bloodline's extraordinary affinity and control over Chakra, the situation was different.

With the knowledge in his mind, it was like looking down from a higher dimension.

These ninjutsu were nothing more than special applications of Chakra. Combined with his body's control over Chakra, it was like holding them in the palm of his hand.

He knew that he could truly create things like Chidori Current, or even Purple Electricity without much effort.

Even if the power still depended on his Chakra level, that wasn't bad either.

"Hiss..."

Suddenly, Takemi found a problem.

He suddenly realized that after obtaining the Ōtsutsuki bloodline, he seemed to have become a bit too much of a genius.

"This means that the ninjutsu I need to launder have increased."

There needs to be a source from where he has learned these ninjutsu. Otherwise, things will get troublesome.

Danzo has been temporarily removed from public office due to the Uchiha Clan incident, preventing him from making any moves during this time.

"But I still need to be careful. Who knows when he'll be reinstated? And I also need to explain things clearly to Kakashi, at least the source of the techniques must be clean."

Takemi rubbed his brow. He still wasn't strong enough. If he was, he wouldn't have to worry about these things at all.

But to become stronger, the development of his bloodline needs to take a step forward.

"Takemi! You scoundrel!"

Just then, a voice sounded from not far away. Turning his head, he saw that it was Naruto.

It wasn't just him. There were three little guys with him.

"Inuzuka Kiba, Nara Shikamaru, and Akimichi Choji?"

Seeing this team, he immediately knew what was going on, but Naruto had already rushed in front of him, baring his teeth.

"You scoundrel, you made me pay again! How many times is this? Damn it, give me back my money!"

Takemi looked at Naruto, shrugged, and asked back doubtfully, "Hey, hey, hey, aren't we friends?"

"Uh... yes."

Naruto was momentarily stunned but still nodded.

Takemi was one of the few people who didn't hold malice towards him, even though he was a terrible person.

"Well, since we're friends, isn't it normal for you to help me celebrate?"

Takemi blinked, then feigned a sigh, "Naruto, it seems our feelings have faded."

"No, you..."

Naruto was speechless for a moment. He felt Takemi was talking nonsense, but he just didn't know how to refute him.

"Also, it's class time now, why are you here?"

Takemi, not letting up when he had the advantage, eyed Naruto suspiciously for a moment, then smiled.

"I see, you're skipping class. Well then, Naruto, you wouldn't want Iruka-sensei to know you skipped class, right?"

...

At this moment, Naruto's face turned pale.

"Huh? Takemi-senpai?"

Fortunately, Shikamaru and the others had already walked up. Seeing Takemi, they were all a bit surprised.

Especially Kiba, he eyed Takemi doubtfully for a moment before asking, "I heard Naruto say you sent your teammates to the hospital and then graduated yourself. Is that true?"

...

Takemi glared at Naruto. Was this kid spreading rumors too?

Although, it seems that's what he told him...

"Pretty much, but my situation was a bit special."

"Tch, you can do it like that?"

Kiba pursed his lips, then looked at Naruto with a hint of malice.

"Naruto, I heard you're graduating early. How about we team up?"

"Hey, what are you scoundrels thinking?!"

Naruto was instantly annoyed. He pointed at Takemi and yelled, "And I don't want to be like him! I, the great Naruto, will definitely graduate early without a hitch!"

"The version I heard seems different from yours, and Konoha doesn't allow early graduation now anyway. Even if it did, you might not pass the exam..."

Shikamaru, looking half-asleep, glanced at Naruto, then also looked at Takemi with confusion.

"Speaking of which, Takemi-senpai, shouldn't you be doing missions since you've become a full-fledged Genin? Why are you here?"

"Yeah, and I also heard Genins have a lot of missions." Choji munched on potato chips while echoing Shikamaru's words.

"Like pulling weeds, cleaning riverbeds, and so on. It's very tough."

"Huh? Shouldn't becoming a ninja mean going out on missions?" Naruto looked at Choji doubtfully.

"It's not that simple. Being a ninja is a difficult path."

Takemi shrugged and chuckled indifferently., "Choji is right. When you first become a Genin, you have to do basic missions and constantly accumulate experience."

"Is that so?"

Naruto rubbed his head. This was different from what he had imagined.

"Otherwise? Besides, becoming a ninja isn't easy." Takemi shrugged again and continued to smile.

"Becoming a ninja requires talent. People drop out every year, haven't you noticed?"

"After enduring this phase, there's still a real graduation exam. If you can't pass this hurdle, you have to go back and repeat the year."

"My team is the best example. If they don't pass again, it will probably be very difficult for them to become ninjas."

"Is it that difficult?"

Naruto gulped, seemingly a bit disbelieving. Everyone else, except Shikamaru, was also a little surprised.

"Otherwise? Not to mention the Land of Fire, there are so many people in Konoha, but how many Ninjas are there?" Takemi nodded, his smile unchanging.

"And becoming a Genin is just the beginning. Some people lose their lives before becoming Chunin, some lose motivation after becoming Chunin, and only a very few can keep moving forward."

"So, being a ninja isn't playing house. For most people, not becoming a ninja is the norm. Even for you and me, Genin might be the endpoint..."

Takemi's words silenced the group of kids who had skipped class. For a moment, they all regretted skipping.

Especially Naruto, he had always been shouting about graduating, but this was the first time he learned how difficult and cruel the Ninja world was.

However...

"Hmph, no matter how difficult it is, I will face the challenge head-on!"

Naruto suddenly clenched his fists, his gaze becoming resolute.

"No matter what, I will become a Ninja! I will work hard to become the Hokage! I will absolutely never give up! Believe it!"

"Tch, don't talk big."

Kiba subconsciously contradicted Naruto, but his eyes showed that he approved of Naruto.

"Besides, you're not the only one who works hard."

"You two..."

Shikamaru couldn't help but rub his head as he watched Naruto and Kiba. The topic had been completely derailed.

Fortunately, Choji seemed quite clear-headed. He asked doubtfully while eating potato chips, "But Takemi-senpai, you seem very relaxed for someone saying Genin might be the endpoint."

"About that..."

Takemi tilted his head, then smiled maliciously.

"That's because I might be leaving the village to do missions tomorrow. Who would still be doing those basic missions in the village?"

"Huh?!"

Naruto and the others' eyes widened instantly. This seemed different from what he had just said, didn't it?

"As for 'Genin is the endpoint', that's just something I say to others. My goal is to achieve both fame and fortune!"
