Chapter 42 - Plan

Ishar raised his eyebrows and walked back to the benches.

"Do you have that hacking device that Aniket gave you?" he asked Naren in a hushed voice. Naren nodded.

He lowered his head and silently muttered, "Pratap, be ready to hack into his files once I insert the device into a computer?"

Pratap hummed affirmatively through the earpiece. The two gazed around importantly for some time. Soon, a short, round man, clad in a gray suit called them to begin their appointment. The whole building was a maze, and many small rooms dotted the path as they strolled on.

As they both were walking down the long corridor, on their way to Khurana's office, Ishar felt as if his mind would explode with such a brilliant idea.

"Wait! Naren-", he said, bursting with glee, "-You should go in alone. You see these hundreds of rooms?"

Naren rolled his eyes. "Of course, I do. I'm not blind."

Ishar's eyes twinkled.

"My point exactly! One of these must have a computer. Give me the drive, I'll enter an empty room and install it while you talk with Khurana."

Naren looked at him dryly and said, "And then the CCTV cameras will just shut themselves off, right?"

Ishar stopped. He hadn't thought of that. But a moment later, another idea came inside his head.

"Well, after I enter the device, our team will be able to hack into ALL the company's software…including access to the security cameras. Then, they can play it on a loop, and it will be like I never entered the room. After all, I'm sure they can hear our conversation right now."

"And what about the current security people?"

"You and I both saw that they were sleeping shamelessly in that room. Obviously, they don't expect a hacking from inside the building itself."

Naren's eyes gleamed, as if having a sudden realization that Ishar wasn't as idiotic as he had thought. Ishar rolled his eyes.

Naren enthusiastically said, "Surprisingly workable idea. But I will be the one to enter." Ishar protested.

Finally, in the end, the two decided to resolve their conflicts by playing a round of rock-paper-scissors, the classic decision making game. On the count of three, they both unfurled their hands. Ishar's was a stone. Naren's was a scissor.

"Fine-", Naren grumbled, "-I'll go talk with the fool sitting inside the room. You find a computer..and quick!"

He took out the drive from inside the suit and handed it to Ishar.

Ishar nodded and parted ways. After Naren was out of sight, he quickly opened the nearest room to spot what was inside. About ten pairs of eyes stared back at him. He drew in a sharp breath. He'd have to be more careful now.

Awkwardly exiting the room, he decided to glimpse through the slight parting of the door to check whether the offices were occupied or not.

At this point of time, he was grateful to the fact that the security had taken a quick ten-minute break to eat their lunch- he looked like a madman running through the corridors.
