Chapter 3 - Those Who Returned Before the Day of Ruin

Kaelen opened his eyes. Sunlight pierced through the old wooden window curtains. The scent of dust, electricity, and life greeted him.

The real world—of the past. Before everything burned. Before the gods descended. Before humanity was erased without explanation.

He no longer had magic or system status. But he carried the deadliest weapon: memories from the future, residual control over Little Garden, and a grudge against one name—False God.

This world had no idea of its doom. Civilization still stood. Society was still busy chasing the illusion of stability. But Kaelen knew: just a few years from now, the sky would split open, and the gods would decide that humanity was unworthy to survive.

But that wasn't his concern.

Kaelen had no interest in saving the real world. He didn't care about humanity. He wanted only one thing: to kill False God.

As long as the World Seed remained in that entity's hands, he couldn't fully reclaim control of Little Garden.

He checked the hidden connection linked to the digital structure of this world. Some of Little Garden's system mechanisms had begun to fragment and leak into the present time ever since he received the key from the World Will's manifestation—not from the future, but from a conversation that rewrote the foundation of reality.

But full control couldn't be seized until False God was eliminated.

Elsewhere in the world, someone sensed the anomaly.

In a hidden data chamber, False God stood in the center of a swirling holographic array. System codes danced around him, flashing newly generated logs.

"System initialization: unrecognized. No authentication. No developer account. No avatar detected."

Only the trace of a wild will infiltrating the foundation of his creation.

Someone… was stealing time.

He didn't show emotion. But his silence was like a void that devoured the room.

Someone was tampering with the world he had forged. And he didn't know who.

Twelve survivors awakened earlier than the destruction. They were known as Awakeners—humans whose souls still retained fragments of the future.

Among them, five of the Last Six had also returned. The gods had once called these six "anomalies." They weren't mere survivors. They were challengers of fate.

The Awakeners formed a shadow network. They communicated through encrypted messages, hidden beneath underground forums. They recruited humans with latent magical potential, mapped out the dungeon sites that would later emerge, and claimed them before they even existed.

Meanwhile, the Last Six moved in deeper secrecy. Their purpose was never revealed. But everyone knew—they didn't intend to let the world burn again.

Kaelen observed them from afar. He knew each had their own agenda. He didn't intend to lead anyone. But he wouldn't hesitate to use them—if it brought him closer to False God.

In a secret meeting, a girl stood before him. Clear eyes, trembling hands, but a firm voice.

"You're… not an ordinary human, are you?" Althea asked softly.

Kaelen turned to her. "And you know who I am."

Althea nodded.

"I saw you in a dream—or maybe the ruins of a memory. You were standing alone over a ruined city…"

Her gaze shook, but her words were sincere.

"You… are the key."

For a moment, Kaelen almost spoke. But he remained silent.

This girl knew too much.

Or perhaps… she remembered things that were meant to stay buried.

When the real world was destroyed, Kaelen and the Last Six were still trapped inside Little Garden. They never witnessed the fall firsthand—only the aftermath.

But Althea…

Althea was there. She lived through the moment when civilization crumbled, when the sky cracked and the earth was devoured by heavenly fire. And she remembered it.

With that realization, Kaelen began to rewrite his strategy.

He didn't need to lead.

He only needed to set the board, manipulate the pieces, and let history unfold in the direction he wanted.

If the pieces were all in place…Then he would reclaim the future.

Not to save the world—But to bind fate to his will.

Including the gods.Including False God.
