Chapter 42 - Chapter 42 The tradition of the Longbottom family has not disappeared.

While Hermione and others were worried about Damon, Damon was drinking tea slowly.

Beside him, Dumbledore shared a piece of sizzling bee candy with him, and Professor McGonagall and Snape were arguing endlessly.

However, the topic they were arguing about was not whether Damon should drop out of school because of this, but who should carry out Damon's detention. Everyone present was an adult, and with a little adult, no one would play those nonsense things.

At first, Professor McGonagall was really furious.

But when she learned that Malfoy had been calling Damon a mudblood, even when they first met on the train, and repeated it more often in the days that followed, Damon also gave up the sorting and went to Slytherin because of this. When Snape heard this, the expression on his face became more stinky, while Professor McGonagall's expression eased a lot, and even flashed a trace of relief?

When Damon talked about Malfoy threatening Neville and he couldn't bear it anymore, Professor McGonagall had quietly forgiven Damon in her heart, and only Snape was still looking at them with a strange smile.

"In any case, this kid can't avoid detention. As the head of Slytherin House, I should be responsible for this matter!"

"My opinion is the same as that day, Snape. Damon is a student of Gryffindor. I have my own plans for his education, and I don't need anyone else to interfere."

"Have my own plans? Excuse me, you have almost spoiled him to the sky. He dared to beat up a student in front of us today. What will he do in the future?

Your attitude will only encourage his arrogance. Look at the way those students look at him, with surprise and awe. In the long run, what do you think will happen?

Or do you think that person has completely disappeared?"

"Snape!" Professor McGonagall's face became serious again. "How can you compare Damon with him! He only uses power and fear to control others, and Damon-it is obvious that he knows what love is!"

"Whatever you say, Professor, the more you maintain this attitude, the more I can't help thinking this way."

Snape looked at Dumbledore again, his mouth corners slightly down, and then strangely upturned, as if smiling, "With the dual protection of the dean and the principal, our dueling prince can do whatever he wants in Hogwarts in the future."

  "Enough, Snape."

Professor McGonagall felt a headache, but she faintly admitted that there was some truth in what Snape said - she had never defended a student like this, and it was difficult for her to deny that there were many selfish motives involved.

"I understand. Until the end of the semester, Damon will go to your office every Saturday night for two hours of detention. I wonder if you are satisfied with this result?"

"I'm glad you still have reason, Professor McGonagall."

Snape leaned over gently, and his smile became a little more sincere.

Damon White fell into his hands after all! He will use the most severe way to teach this kid what it means to respect teachers!

"Damon, do you have any opinion on this matter?"

Dumbledore looked at Damon and made a symbolic consultation.

"I have no objection," Damon looked at Snape with a smile on his face, "Professor Snape is an excellent master of potions. I think I can learn some good habits besides 'not liking to take a bath' by following him."

The sharp-tongued boy was obviously praising him, so why did he feel so uncomfortable?

Snape had a stern face, but he was laughing in his heart - when this boy wears dragon leather gloves and purifies a thousand copies of giant slug mucus, I wonder if he can still be so arrogant?

Seeing that the dust had settled, Dumbledore was about to dismiss everyone and talk to Damon privately, but there was a knock on the door outside.

"Knock, knock, knock." The knock on the door was short and powerful.

"Professor Dumbledore, Augusta Longbottom is here to visit, please open the door."

The voice outside the door was very old, but there was a firm strength in the words. Even facing Dumbledore, the voice did not sound particularly polite.

Dumbledore showed a look of surprise on his face - why is she here?

The next moment, he felt a headache.

It was clear why the old man came to visit at this time - he came for his grandson Neville.

Professor McGonagall opened the door and welcomed the old man in.

She was wearing a long dress, holding a big red handbag, and a hat with a vulture specimen on her head. She looked solemn and dignified.

  "Hello."

She took off her hat and saluted the three professors, using men's etiquette.

Her eyes wandered around the room and soon locked onto Damon, her eyes lit up.

"Hello, young man, I'm Neville's grandmother, Augusta Longbottom."

The old lady took off her hat again and leaned over to thank Damon. Before she could finish the gesture, a pair of hands had already held her.

"Hello, grandma, I'm Damon White. Since you are Neville's grandmother, you are also my grandmother."

Augusta raised her head and met the boy's blue eyes. She almost fell in love with him at once.

"I really want to have a grandson like you."

She grabbed Damon's right hand and placed it in her palm, patting it gently.

"I already know what happened to Neville."

"Professor Dumbledore, please tell me, what is your way of dealing with this child?"

"Detention once a week until the end of the semester."

Augusta nodded and looked around the room. Her eyes slowly passed over Snape and McGonagall, and finally returned to Dumbledore.

  She said.

"There is something you may not know, it is not glorious, and I will not tell anyone about it normally - my son and daughter-in-law were tortured crazy by the Death Eaters, and Neville was raised by me alone.

For this sensitive child, the pain of his parents seems to be empathized all the time. In order to ensure that Neville can live a normal life, I have to cast the Oblivion Charm on him frequently, even if it will affect his memory."

Professor McGonagall covered her mouth, her eyes moved.

"I am not saying this to win your sympathy or any reward." Augusta looked at Dumbledore, "I just want to ask, Dumbledore, do you still remember their contribution? Even if this contribution is so ridiculous and so insignificant?"

"Of course I remember - I will never forget it."

  Dumbledore's expression became serious.

Augusta nodded, pulled Damon to her side, and looked at Dumbledore.

"This child has changed my grandson. The tradition of the Longbottom family has not disappeared in Neville's generation. This is very important to the entire family."

She looked at Dumbledore with a hawk-like gaze, with a humble tone and a tough attitude.

"Please, forgive this child this time, okay?"

"I can't help but agree to your request, but it depends on the opinions of the two deans."

Dumbledore looked at Snape and McGonagall with a helpless expression.

The old man said he didn't want sympathy or rewards, but he made such a request.

  But, can they not agree?

"I respect your opinion." Professor McGonagall responded seriously.

  Snape stopped talking.

He quickly swept his eyes over the three people present, waved h

is hand, and left.

  "He agreed too."

After Snape turned around, Dumbledore translated with a smile.
