Kayla's POV:
"Where the hell did I drop it?" I said to myself in frustration as I rummaged through my bag for the fiftieth time searching for my keys.
I always hung them on the zipper of my bag, but today something felt different... there wasn't that clanking noise I'd always hear from the keys while walking so I decided to stop and check and noticed that my keys were missing, I checked my bag over and over and over.
I continued searching for the keys in my bag until it suddenly dawned on me that I might have left them in the girls' changing room before leaving school. I quickly gathered my books in my bag and turned to the direction of the school, secretly hoping they had not locked the gates yet.
I got to the gate and surprisingly it was still open, but I did not care about that for now I just wanted my goddamned keys. I quickly ran through the hallways searching for the girls changing room, the lights were off, which made it difficult to see which room was which so I had to use my brain to navigate my way to the girls' room, finally I found the changing rooms and quickly opened the room I thought was the girls' room, then I saw him.
he was standing there shirtless, he had the body of a Greek god that made him look like he jumped straight out of a movie. I couldn't help but stare, he looked so unreal, the way his grey eyes stared at me made my stomach twirl in excitement, he was hot, perfect, he had everything a girl wanted in a man, of course I knew who he was.
He is THE Skylar, the king of the school, the most popular boy in our school that every girl wanted for herself and would do anything to make him theirs but that was the least of my concern right now, I realized I was staring when he quickly used his hands to cover his upper body, I turned around immediately using my hands to cover my hands as my heart kept beating like it was about to jump out of my chest. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to walk in on you changing, I thought this was the girls' changing room."
I quickly ran out of the room and opened the next door, I saw my keys on the table where I had left them, I quickly grabbed them and left the room. I ran through the hallways and out of the school, I didn't stop walking fast even after I left the school.
Luckily the streetlights were still on, so it was relatively easy to walk the streets. I slowed down my pace and tried catching my breath, then I remembered what happened back at school. I couldn't help but smile to myself because it's not every day you get to see a hot guy with a body like that standing shirtless in front of you.
I mean, seriously, who even looks like that in real life? It was like he walked straight out of a movie. And the way he looked at me... I am not even sure I imagined that. I shook the thoughts out of my head and kept walking. I needed to get home before anyone started asking questions.
But the image of him, broad chest, intense eyes, stayed with me. But the thought of getting involved with him quickly left my mind because I was way, way, way, way out of his league, he was the son of one of the wealthiest family out there, and me.... I came from a small family.
I have two siblings, an older brother named Luke, and a younger brother named Matthew, my dad runs a small bakery, my older brother worked three part time jobs and is in his final year at college. I work a part time job that I do on the weekends, my mum.... well, all she was good at is spending money, staying out late at nights, and let's just say she was not supportive type.
She always talked about how she needed money for her skincare et cetera. My dad tries his best to make sure we are okay but with my mum's reckless spending there's hardly ever enough money left for the rest of us.
I got into this school through scholarship because of my good grades and once the scholarship expires—my thoughts were suddenly cut short when I realised how long I'd been standing there.
I immediately started walking home to drown my thoughts with reading .
