Chapter 27 - Chapter 57-58-59

Chapter 57 – Brazil and the World Go Wild

It was already past two in the morning, but the Sambadrome at Marquês de Sapucaí was still vibrating with the overwhelming energy of Carnival.

Thousands of revelers danced and sang, while the samba schools paraded with luxurious costumes and monumental floats.

But that night, in addition to the traditional spectacle, the world was glued to another unexpected event.

Gustavo Salles, the newest winner of the Oscar for Best Actor, was there.

And he wasn't alone.

Timothée Chalamet, Kylie Jenner, Kendall Jenner, Hailey Bieber and Justin Bieber were by his side, experiencing Brazil in its purest and most intense form.

As soon as Gustavo and the others arrived at the VIP box and started posting stories and videos, social media exploded.

On Twitter, hashtags started trending immediately.

Comments kept coming in.

— MY GOD, GUSTAVO BROUGHT HALF OF HOLLYWOOD TO CARNIVAL!

— I CAN'T BELIEVE I'M SEEING JUSTIN AND TIMOTHÉE EATING FEIJOADA IN RIO!

— KYLIE AND KENDALL JENNER ARE DRINKING CAIPIRINHAS! IS THIS A DREAM?!

Brazilian newspapers went into meltdown.

Globo's Fantástico program has already started preparing a last-minute report.

On Jornal Nacional, William Bonner opened the program by saying:

— Good evening. Brazil won the Oscar... and now it's conquering Hollywood in a different way. Rio Carnival is welcoming international celebrities today who came to party alongside Gustavo Salles.

And it wasn't just Brazil that was in shock.

In the United States, several news portals began reporting on the event.

Variety:

"Oscar winner Gustavo Salles brings Hollywood stars to experience Rio Carnival – and social media is on fire."

Entertainment Weekly:

"Justin Bieber, Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet are in Brazil. Yes, this is really happening."

In the VIP box, the group was already completely immersed in the Carnival spirit.

Kylie and Kendall had put down their fancy drinks and were drinking caipirinhas made with passion fruit and cachaça.

Timothée had picked up a big plate of feijoada and was asking for tips on how to mix it all together just right.

"Is this going to make me sleep for three days?" he asked.

Gustavo laughed and slapped him on the shoulder.

"Absolutely. But it's worth every bite."

Hailey Bieber was dancing excitedly, trying to learn samba with Gustavo.

"Okay, this is HARD!"

"You're doing great!" — Gustavo encouraged.

Justin, who had already had a few caipirinhas, picked up a tambourine that a musician from the samba school threw to him and started playing.

Kylie took out her cell phone and recorded a video.

"JUSTIN BIEBER PLAYING THE TAMPANE. THIS IS GOING TO BREAK THE INTERNET."

And, indeed, it did.

The height of the madness came when a group of dancers entered the box to interact with the guests.

Gustavo grabbed Timothée by the arm and said:

"Now you have no choice. You're going to learn to samba."

Timothée looked at him with comical panic.

— My body wasn't made for this, bro.

— Today it was.

And then…

He tried.

And it was hilarious.

Gustavo and the dancers tried to teach the basic moves, and Timothée, even though he was clumsy, threw himself into the dance.

The cameras captured everything.

In a few minutes, the video of Timothée Chalamet trying to samba was everywhere.

🚨 TRENDING: "Timothée Chalamet sambaing in Brazil is the best video you'll see today."

🚨 TRENDING: "Gustavo Salles is officially Brazil's ambassador to Hollywood."

Gustavo himself posted a story tagging Timothée and wrote:

"Oscar samba: beginner level."

Timothée reposted and commented:

"Very beginner level. But we're learning."

As the party was going on in Brazil, several international celebrities began to react.

Jimmy Fallon posted on Twitter:

"This is the most insane OSCAR AFTER PARTY I've ever seen. Gustavo, you are a genius."

Zendaya commented on Gustavo's Instagram:

"I NEED to go next time!"

Shakira tweeted:

"Timothée Chalamet dancing samba. This made my day."

And even Leonardo DiCaprio, who rarely posted anything personal, commented on a photo of Justin Bieber holding a tambourine:

"Now, a real gringo."

With so many international celebrities enjoying Carnival as Brazilians, the event became even bigger than it already was.

The samba schools were excited about the worldwide repercussion, and some began interacting directly with the celebrities.

Mangueira, one of the most traditional schools, posted on Twitter:

"If you want to parade on the float next year, we'll sort it out."

Beija-Flor, another samba giant, posted a montage of Gustavo holding the Oscar and wrote:

"From the Oscar to Carnival, Brazil on top."

And in Sambadrome, reporters from several channels tried to capture every moment of the party.

Brazil had made history at the Oscars…

And now, the Oscars were in Brazil.

At around five in the morning, Gustavo and his friends were still in the mood.

Justin Bieber had already given up and was sitting on a couch, exhausted.

"Man… I don't know how you guys lasted so long."

Hailey laughed and sat next to him, still dancing her feet.

"The secret is not to stop. If you stop, you'll pass out."

Timothée arrived with another caipirinha in his hand and looked at Gustavo.

"Okay, what now? How do we close tonight?"

Gustavo smiled and snapped his fingers.

"We're not closing. We're going to keep going."

He took out his cell phone and recorded one last story.

"Dawn at Rio Carnival. Hollywood, can you handle one more day?"

And with that…

The party had no time to end.

Chapter 58 – Rest After the Party

March 3, 2026 – Noon, Rio de Janeiro

The midday sun shone brightly over Rio de Janeiro, while a warm breeze blew through the city.

But inside the armored SUV that cruised through the streets of Rio, the atmosphere was different.

The occupants of the car were completely destroyed by the insane Carnival marathon of the previous night.

Gustavo drove calmly, with sunglasses protecting his tired eyes.

In the passenger seat, Timothée slept with his mouth open, with one arm crossed over his face to block the sunlight.

In the back seat, Hailey was lying on top of Justin, who was trying to keep his eyes open, but failing miserably.

"Baby…" Hailey murmured. — Remind me to never underestimate Brazilians again…

Kylie and Kendall, sitting further back, barely spoke, just groaned in exhaustion as they drank water and wore giant sunglasses to hide the tiredness written all over their faces.

— Gustavo… — Kendall murmured, her voice completely hoarse. — How long until we get there?

Gustavo held back a laugh.

— Five minutes. I told you guys you weren't ready for this.

Kylie shook her head, still in disbelief.

— We survived the Met Gala, Coachella, the Oscar after parties… — she looked at Kendall. — But Rio Carnival was the most extreme experience of my life.

Justin raised his head and looked at Gustavo.

— Man… we slept for two hours. I think my body hates me now.

— You thought you were going to be able to keep up with Brazilians, right? — Gustavo laughed.

Timothée, who was still a little groggy, grumbled without opening his eyes.

"You guys made me dance samba. That went too far."

A few minutes later, the SUV pulled into Gustavo's house, a beautiful residence in a luxurious condominium in the South Zone of Rio.

The mansion had a modern and open architecture, with large glass windows, a large garden and a stunning view of the beach.

As soon as they entered, the guests were silent for a moment, taking in the surroundings.

Even though they were dead tired, they couldn't help but admire the place.

"You're kidding me…" Timothée said, finally opening his eyes.

Hailey looked at Justin, her mouth agape.

"Why didn't we know you lived in this paradise, Gustavo?!"

Kylie looked at the infinity pool that overlooked the ocean and simply shook her head.

"Okay. I'm moving in."

Gustavo laughed and threw the keys on the table.

— Make yourselves comfortable. Consider this your home while you're in Brazil.

Gustavo showed each of them to their rooms.

The rooms were spacious, with elegant decor, gigantic beds, and private balconies.

— Kylie and Kendall, you can stay in the main guest room. It has an incredible view of the ocean.

— Justin and Hailey, there's a suite on the other side of the house, more private.

— Timothée, brother, I put you in a room with blackout, because I know you need it right now.

Timothée raised his fist in a gesture of thanks, still without the energy to speak.

After everyone had left their bags, Gustavo turned to the group and took on a commanding tone.

— Now here's the deal:

He crossed his arms.

— Everyone's going to sleep. No excuses.

Kendall laughed.

— It's like we're in the army.

— They're in the post-Carnival survival army. — Gustavo blinked. — If you don't sleep now, you won't be able to enjoy the night.

Kylie sighed and raised her hands in surrender.

— I accept. I need to sleep at least six hours.

Hailey yawned and held Justin's hand.

— We obey, Commander Gustavo.

Justin laughed, but he was practically sleepwalking.

— I passed out in the car, but I'm going to sleep again for another ten hours.

Timothée raised his head and spoke softly.

— If anyone wakes me up before eight o'clock at night, I'll be offended.

Gustavo laughed and raised his hands.

— Great. Everyone go to bed. Dinner is going to be epic, so get your energy back.

And so, one by one, they went to their rooms, ready to finally rest.

As everyone disappeared into the hallways of the house, Gustavo let out a long sigh and threw himself onto the couch in the living room.

He picked up his phone, opened Instagram and posted a story:

📸 A photo of the pool lit up by the sun, with the caption:

"We survived Carnival (for now). Now, rest. Later, dinner. Tomorrow, a trip to Rio."

And then, he finally closed his eyes, letting sleep take over.

That was just the first part of their trip through Brazil.

And he knew there was still much more to come.

Chapter 59 – An Unforgettable Brazilian Dinner

March 3, 2026 – 10:00 p.m., Rio de Janeiro

The sun had already set hours ago when Gustavo got out of the shower and looked at his watch.

10 p.m.

Perfect.

After a whole day of sleeping, it was time to get back to life.

He put on a black linen shirt, slightly open at the chest, a pair of dark jeans and an elegant watch on his wrist.

In the hallway, he heard doors opening, slurred voices and a few yawns.

His foreign friends were finally waking up.

He left the room and, when he went down the stairs, he saw Timothée Chalamet already on the couch in the living room, with a glass of water in his hand and an expression of someone who was still processing what was reality.

"Good morning to you, vampire," Gustavo joked.

Timothée let out a nasal laugh and blinked slowly.

— That was a coma, not sleep.

Kylie came down right behind, wearing a tight dress and flawless makeup.

— Okay, I'm officially renewed. — she smiled.

Kendall, who came right after, tied her hair in a bun and adjusted her elegant blazer.

— I slept for about twelve hours. But I'm still trying to understand how you guys manage to live at this pace.

Justin and Hailey appeared next, both still stretching.

— That was the best sleep of my life. — Hailey commented, playing with her hair.

Justin yawned and looked at Gustavo.

— So... where are we going to eat?

Gustavo smiled.

— Today I'm going to take you guys to a 100% BRAZILIAN experience. We're going to a real steakhouse.

Timothée's eyes lit up.

— Please tell me that means infinite meat.

— Exactly.

— I love this country.

The armored SUVs were ready again.

Even though it was a casual dinner, the security team discreetly followed the group, making sure everything went smoothly.

On the way, the atmosphere inside the car was relaxed.

Kylie looked out the window, observing the illuminated city.

—Rio de Janeiro at night is incredible.

—It looks like a real postcard. — Kendall added.

Hailey, sitting next to Justin, smiled.

—We definitely have to come more often.

Gustavo, who was in the front seat, looked in the rearview mirror and smiled.

—Brazil is a paradise. The beaches, the mountains, the food, the people… everything here has a life of its own.

Justin nodded thoughtfully.

—You can feel the different energy. It's a place that embraces you.

But then Timothée raised a question.

— But I noticed that there's always a "but" when you talk about Brazil…

Gustavo sighed and looked out the window.

— Yes. Brazil has everything it needs to be the best place in the world. But public safety is a real problem, especially here in Rio. Politics, then…

Kendall frowned.

— You can see that the contrast here is huge. There are beautiful places, happy people… but there's also a heaviness in the air.

Gustavo nodded.

— Brazil is a country of extremes. You can be in a wonderful area and, out of nowhere, see something shocking happening. But, despite everything, the Brazilian people remain welcoming, strong. And that's what makes this country so special.

Hailey smiled slightly.

— I noticed that yesterday at Carnival. Even with all the madness, everyone was celebrating together, without judgments. It was beautiful to see.

Timothée crossed his arms and looked outside.

— This is the kind of thing you don't feel when reading the news. You have to come here to understand.

Gustavo smiled.

— Exactly.

A short time later, the SUVs stopped in front of one of the most renowned steakhouses in Rio de Janeiro.

As soon as they entered, the aroma of grilled meat filled the room, and the foreigners were immediately mesmerized.

— THIS SMELL IS UNREAL. — Timothée exclaimed, already looking around with hungry eyes.

The group was taken to a reserved table in a more private area, where waiters were already waiting for them with caipirinhas and cheese breads.

Kylie took a cheese bread and her eyes widened at the first bite.

— WHAT IS THIS?!

Gustavo laughed.

— Cheese bread. One of Brazil's best gifts to humanity.

Justin took one too and looked at Gustavo, surprised.

— Man, I'm changing my concept of food right now.

Hailey, who was already on her second glass of caipirinha, raised her hand.

— Okay, can someone explain this all-you-can-eat scheme to me?

Gustavo smiled.

— Simple. They bring you different cuts of meat until you say you can't take it anymore.

Timothée smiled mischievously.

— That sounds like a challenge. I accept.

The waiters started bringing out the skewers of meat, cutting picanha, maminha, alcatra, ribs, lamb...

Kylie and Kendall's eyes sparkled as they tried each cut.

— This meat just melts in your mouth. — Kendall commented.

— I can't believe I've lived my entire life without eating this. — Kylie added.

Justin, who was already on his third piece of picanha, raised his fork to Gustavo.

— Brother, you've officially ruined all steakhouses in the United States are for me. Nothing will ever be funny again after this.

Timothée, with his mouth full, raised his thumbs and said something incomprehensible.

Gustavo laughed.

— Are you trying to talk with food in your mouth, Chalamet?

Timothée swallowed and laughed.

— Yes. But basically: THIS IS THE BEST FOOD I HAVE EVER EATEN IN MY LIFE.

Hailey, already on her third round of caipirinha, laughed out loud and slapped the table.

— Okay, I'm officially IN LOVE with Brazil. Justin and I need to go back every year.

Justin nodded immediately.

— I agree 100%.

A Toast to Brazil

After hours of eating and laughing, Gustavo raised his glass.

— Guys, a toast to Brazil. To this incredible country, full of energy, love and good food.

Everyone raised their glasses and shouted together:

— TO BRAZIL!

The customers around noticed the scene and started clapping and laughing.

On Twitter, a customer of the steakhouse posted a video of the toast.

🚨 TRENDING:

"I just saw Justin Bieber, Hailey Bieber, Timothée Chalamet, Kylie and Kendall Jenner toasting Brazil at a steakhouse. Gustavo Salles just keeps winning."

After dinner, the group left the restaurant completely satisfied.

Hailey grabbed Gustavo's arm and smiled.

— Okay, you win. Brazil wins. I'll never look at food the same way again.

Justin put an arm around Gustavo's shoulders.

— Brother, I need to come here more often. This country is incredible.

Kylie smiled.

— I'm already planning another visit.

Timothée put his hands in his pockets and looked at Gustavo.

"Okay, man. You said you were going to go on a tour of Rio tomorrow. What are you up to?"

Gustavo smiled mysteriously.

"Tomorrow, you're going to see Rio from above. Get ready."

And so, the adventure in Brazil was just beginning.
