"Wait, monsters in broad daylight, the city is uptight, I'm not sure how people will take it," Rogen said.
"Come on, Rogen, like anyone is going to question you," John said.
"Arghhh, fine, the girl can stay with her guards," Rogen said.
"That's better," John said. He tapped Jake on the shoulder. "Let's go."
"Ophelia, you'll wait for me here, okay? Make sure you stay with Rogen, no matter what, and if anything happens, use the ogres to escape," Jake said to her. She nodded in agreement.
Jake and Crypt left with John. Immediately they stepped out of the bar, John started walking up the street.
"So the ruins, what's it all about?" Jake asked.
"The ruins? It's a construct from one of the ancient trials that happened. It formed underneath the town, and so far, even long after the trial, it still remains.
Not only that, it stretches from this city deep into the forest, allowing monsters and beasts to enter.
