Chapter 1 - 1

Before reading, a warning:

[The female lead came from the apocalypse and entered a book. Her values aren't quite normal because she's really violent. Don't mess with her!!!]

[This book has a CP (couple pairing), and there is a male lead, but he appears later.]

September 6th, 1973.

A wave of suffocation hit her. Lucy felt it was hard to breathe. Her entire body was freezing. Strange buzzing and water sounds filled her ears, and something was pressing down on her head.

How dare someone sneak attack her? Looks like they're tired of living.

Just as she was about to react, a flood of memories rushed into her mind. Her head spun, and then her cold, sharp eyes suddenly opened.

River water entered her eyes, making them sting, but she could now see clearly.

She was underwater, and someone was holding her down in the river.

The corners of her lips lifted in a bloodthirsty grin. Her hand shot back and quickly grabbed onto someone's body. Her fingers tightened without hesitation.

"Ah!" A scream rang out. The hand pressing her head down let go immediately.

Splash!

Lucy's head finally broke through the water. She took a deep breath of fresh air and scanned her surroundings.

She was in the middle of a wide river. The sky was dark and gloomy. There wasn't a single soul around. Only tall reeds and wild grass lined the riverbank.

"Lucy, with your sickly little body, only I would still want you. Don't be ungrateful. If you keep disobeying, I'll kill you!"

Lucy turned toward the voice. A man's head also surfaced not far away. He floated steadily, clearly good at swimming.

The man looked about twenty-something, with yellowish skin, a pockmarked face, thick lips, and small eyes. Right now, he glared at her with a fierce look.

Seeing her silent, he kept cursing and threatening, "It's still dark, and no one's around. If you don't give in, I'll drown you. Nobody will ever know!"

Lucy looked around. That did seem to be the case. She looked at the man again. Her breathing was still rough but slowly steadied after a few seconds.

She stared straight at him and smiled. Her hand emerged from the water, holding a pair of rubber gloves.

She didn't know if this era had the technology to check for fingerprints in water, but better safe than sorry. Besides, she thought it was filthy.

The man frowned, confused. Why did she have gloves on her? He had never seen gloves like that before. They didn't look cheap. What was she planning?

He felt something was off. This woman used to be meek and quiet. Why did she suddenly seem fearless?

But whatever. He still wanted her today. He, Liu Mazi, was already twenty-six and still single.

If he ruined her innocence, not only would he get a wife for free, he'd also earn fifty yuan. Just thinking about it made him excited.

Maybe it was his imagination, but she suddenly looked prettier than before. Her wet black hair clung to her face, making her thin cheeks look more alive.

Her body was still like a bean sprout, flat all over, but those almond-shaped eyes of hers right now had a strange charm that seemed to pull him in. The thought of what he was about to do made his body heat up.

His eyes turned wicked. His voice softened. "Lucy, your foster mother already agreed to this. If you behave, I'll be gentle. If not, you'll suffer."

Lucy ignored him. She floated on her back, slowly swimming backward, her hands moving without pause. She quickly put on the gloves.

She looked at him again. Her eyes were ice cold. Then her body sank quickly beneath the water.

Mazi was shocked. Things had gone completely out of his control, and for a moment, he froze, not knowing what was happening. Suddenly, something grabbed his foot.

"Ah!" Mazi screamed. Before the scream finished, he was dragged underwater, leaving only ripples on the surface.

The river was deep, about four or five meters, and near the bank, there were lots of water plants growing.

Lucy swam with one arm while pulling Mazi's leg with the other, dragging him underwater toward the riverbank. Mazi struggled hard, bending forward to grab Lucy's hand.

Lucy remained expressionless, her grip tightening.

The sudden sharp pain made Mazi open his mouth to scream, but instead, a large amount of river water rushed into his mouth, throat, and lungs.

Mazi's face was filled with terror. His throat emitted a muffled sound as he struggled to breathe. He gasped for air but couldn't. His struggles grew more desperate.

Lucy ignored his resistance, pulling his leg as she swam to the shallow part of the river where there was a large patch of water plants.

She grabbed a handful of water plants and tangled them around Mazi's leg, as if he had accidentally gotten caught in them.

Once she had wrapped him up enough and estimated he would not be able to break free anytime soon, she looked at Mazi.

At that moment, Mazi had his eyes tightly shut, his hands moving weakly as he occasionally tried to push against the water. He had clearly gone into shock.

Lucy's eyes flashed with cold light, and she quickly entered her space.

Lying on the floor of a villa, she panted heavily. This body was too weak, and dealing with a weakling had already drained her energy.

Unfortunately, her lightning power didn't come with her. Otherwise, she wouldn't have had to use so much effort; she could have just electrocuted him to ashes.

Thankfully, her space had followed her. It was a small blessing in an unfortunate situation.

After resting for a while, she sat up and ran her fingers through her hair, confused. She didn't understand why she had transmigrated.

She had entered a novel she had read long ago called "In the Seventies, The Sweet Wife is Spoiled Every Night."

The man she had just dealt with, Mazi, was a lazy and unscrupulous man. He was a good-for-nothing who had been chosen by the original character's foster mother, Madam Ye, and foster sister, Serena, to be the man for the original character.

Although the original character was weak, she wasn't stupid and firmly refused to marry him.

So, Madam Ye and the others conspired to make sure the original character had no choice but to marry him.

That very morning, before dawn, Madam Ye woke up the original character and told her to deliver a message to the second aunt in the east part of the city.

Used to being oppressed, the original character felt something was wrong, but didn't dare to refuse. After quickly washing up, she went out.

When she reached near Daliu River, Mazi, who had been waiting there, suddenly grabbed her and tried to assault her.

Although the original character was weak, when faced with such a situation, she fought back desperately, shouting for help. In the scuffle, the two of them fell into the river.
