"Kaito!"
As soon as she saw Kaito land, Nami ran toward him and threw herself into his arms.
Kaito scooped both girls up, one in each arm, holding them quietly as he waited for their emotions to settle.
After crying for a while, Nami lifted her tear-streaked face—looking like a little kitten—and the first thing out of her mouth was,
"Kaito, why do you always call Nojiko first?"
"..."
A bead of cold sweat slid down Kaito's forehead.
You're really picking that out at a time like this?
Clearly, Nami held a pretty deep grudge about that in her heart.
Nojiko also looked up from Kaito's arms, gazing at him with a dazed expression.
Noticing her eyes, Kaito gave her a reassuring smile. Then, he gently set both girls down on the ground. After that, he turned around to face the group of Fishmen behind him—his Rinnegan eyes cold and terrifying.
Arlong, pale-faced and clutching the stump where his right arm used to be, glared fiercely at Kaito when he saw him turn around.
"You… who the hell are you?! How dare you lay a hand on me?!"
Kaito didn't bother responding. Instead, he turned slightly and spoke to the creature on his shoulder.
"Modis, do you like eating fish?"
"Meow meow (Master, these fish are too disgusting. I can't bring myself to eat them...)"
Kaito nodded thoughtfully, muttering as if to himself,
"Shame."
Arlong, who had just lost his arm and was being completely ignored, started to lose control.
He opened his massive mouth and reached in with his only remaining hand to pull out his serrated teeth. Strangely, as soon as he pulled them out, a new row began growing in their place.
Holding the jagged teeth in his hand, Arlong charged straight at Kaito, shouting,
"Die, human! Iron Jaws!"
"So boring."
To Kaito, Arlong's speed was no different than a snail. His right arm instantly became coated in Haki, turning pitch-black with a metallic gleam.
He raised his hand and struck directly at Arlong's arm holding the jagged teeth.
A sharp crack echoed out—bones shattering, flesh bursting.
Arlong, who had been charging full speed, was sent flying face-first into the ground like a mangy mutt.
"AAAHHHHHH!"
With both arms now lost—and the second one crushed so brutally—the overwhelming pain sent Arlong into a frenzy, rolling and howling on the ground.
Swish!
Kaito suddenly appeared next to him, a black rod now in his hand.
He drove it straight into Arlong's shoulder.
Arlong let out another blood-curdling scream, but before he could even react, Kaito summoned another rod and stabbed it into his other shoulder.
The two black rods pierced through Arlong's shoulder blades and into the ground, emitting a strange energy that began assaulting his mind. In his dazed consciousness, Arlong saw Kaito's Rinnegan staring back at him, sending waves of fear crashing through him.
Thud. Thud.
Two more rods pierced his thighs—one in each leg.
Dusting off his hands, Kaito looked down at Arlong, now collapsed like a dead dog, and purposely put on a surprised expression.
He stepped in front of him, squatted down, and grabbed Arlong by the head, lifting it so their eyes met.
With a devilish murmur, Kaito whispered,
"What's wrong? Is this all the proud Fishmen are? Did I make you pass out?"
As he spoke, a faint purple light flashed through Kaito's Rinnegan. Arlong's eyes went wide—terrified—as if he had seen something out of a nightmare. And once he fully processed what he was seeing, he screamed in terror.
Kaito rubbed his ears, annoyed, then punched Arlong straight in the mouth.
Boom!
The punch was brutal. When Kaito pulled his fist back, a spray of white fragments shot from Arlong's mouth—his shattered teeth.
Still, Arlong's racial traits were no joke. Even with his teeth completely destroyed, a new row began growing in almost immediately.
Kaito raised an eyebrow.
Tch, those teeth are really trying to get on my nerves.
He raised a hand engulfed in black flames. With Arlong staring at him in terror, Kaito pressed the burning hand against his mouth.
The moment the flames touched his jaws, a layer of dark ice formed and sealed his mouth shut. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't open it again.
Satisfied, Kaito withdrew his hand and studied Arlong's face. After a moment, he frowned.
That long nose was just too annoying.
He coated his hand once again in that intimidating Haki, reached out, and grabbed Arlong's nose.
Then, he began twisting slowly counter-clockwise—like revving the throttle on a motorcycle.
The inhuman pain made veins bulge across Arlong's body. He wanted to faint, but couldn't. Wanted to scream, but his mouth was sealed. All he could do was tremble violently to show his agony.
Behind them, the group of Fishman underlings—frozen in fear all this time—finally snapped out of their daze.
To their credit, a few of them actually showed a bit of loyalty. They grabbed weapons and cautiously began approaching Kaito step by step.
Kaito, still focused on the "throttle twist," didn't turn around.
Nami and Nojiko, watching from the side, began to panic. They thought Kaito hadn't noticed the danger behind him and quickly shouted,
"Kaito! Behind you! Danger!"
Hearing the girls' concern, Kaito didn't want to disappoint them. He slowly turned his head and gave the approaching Fishmen a cold, indifferent glance.
That was all it took.
The armed Fishmen froze in place like statues. Their weapons clattered to the ground.
Then, one by one, they collapsed.
The other Fishmen ran forward to check on their fallen comrades—only to recoil in horror when they found cold, lifeless corpses.
One of them fell on his butt, staring blankly at the bodies. In a daze, he began muttering to himself like a lunatic,
"Demon... he's not human... he's a demon..."
Kaito didn't spare the rest of them a glance.
He continued his twisting motion.
Down below, Arlong was filled with a hatred unlike anything he'd ever known.
Why… why the hell did his nose have to be built so damn strong?!
The pain went on and on. No one present spoke. No one moved to stop him.
After what Arlong had done, everyone felt the same way:
Satisfying.
Crack!
At last, a crisp sound of bone breaking rang out—Kaito had successfully twisted Arlong's nose clean off.
"MmmmMMMmmm!!"
Arlong rolled his eyes and trembled violently.
Kaito placed a foot on his head, idly toying with the severed nose in his hand.
Nami ran over, hugging Kaito's leg and looking up at him.
"Kaito, can I have that thing?"
Kaito looked down at her, a little confused.
"What do you want that for? It's filthy."
Nami bit her lip and glanced over at Bell-mère, whose face was still covered in blood.
After a moment's hesitation, she looked toward the half-dead Arlong and said through clenched teeth,
"I want to use it as a weapon. I'll kill every pirate I see. I hate them!"
Kaito frowned slightly.
Wait, is Nami going dark now?
Then again, it wasn't necessarily a bad thing. If she hated pirates, she'd probably be fine following a Marine like him.
If someone like Koby ever came whining about showing mercy to pirates, Kaito had no problem snapping his neck. As for Shanks' face? Sorry, never heard of it.
He patted Nami's little head and said,
"That thing's soaked in blood and filth. How about I have someone make you a dagger instead?"
Nami nodded fiercely and hugged Kaito tight, saying nothing more.
