Chapter 1 - The journey starts

"So let's get this straight. You want me to go into this other world, find someone and protect them, so they don't grow up to be a villainous." I looked at the snow white rabbit in front of me. Floating in mid air.

"Yes that is right." The white rabbit talked back.

"Why?"

"Uh, about that. If the villainess grew up this way she might ignite the end of the world." The rabbit answered.

"You mean she will destroy the world?"

"Yes." she affirmed.

"Well, that's a little problematic..." I couldn't help but scratch my head. "But why choose me. How am i supposed to help the miserable villainess?"

"There are a few reasons why i choose you.

First of all, The villainous's problem isn't physical. It more psychological" She explained.

"Uh, that makes sense. I am a studying human physiology. But... then why not just choose a full fledged professional therapist. After all i am just a student of a third rate university?"

"I am not sure either. My search showed you had the best chance to complete the mission." The rabbit looked confused for some reason as well.

"I see. Is there any reward by the way." There should at least be a payment for this job. Since it sounds pretty dangerous. You have go to another world to find someone and then guide them though trauma.

"*Cough* there is in fact a reward." The rabbit cleared it's thought. "You can take my legacy while you complete the system."

"Your what?" I couldn't help but tilt my head.

"Let me explain.

My legacy is a portion of my godhood. When a normal soul comes in contact with a gods energy it develop their own godhood them selves."

"Meaning i can become a goddess?"

"Though there it is not 100% certain, yes you can." The rabbit affirmed.

"And i can take the rewards even before completing the mission?"

"Yes, you would need that power in that world. Otherwise you might not survive."

"Is this world you talk about, very dangerous?" i asked worried.

"I won't say it is dangerous. But it is definitely not easy. But don't worry, developing a little godly energy would be suffice for you to have an easy time."

"I see." I nodded. The word godly energy seems pretty reassuring.

"One more thing." The rabbit said.

"Yes?"

"Aside from this power, i would also give you something extra. It is not much. Just a guide on what you would need to do. When you are there, just think of the word guide. You would get it." She instructed me. I nodded when i understood the gist of it. That would be pretty handy.

In the barony of Valemont,

It was supposed to be a joyous occasion. Lady Valemont just gave birth. It was a girl.

However, the soon joyous occasion turned into a gloomy one. Once the the girls face was reveled.

Crimson red eyes and white hair.

They are obviously not the the norm where most people have brow hair and brown eyes. With only a few top nobility having different traits.

And to make matters worse baron Valemont does not have any higher lineage to justify the child traits. Making it seem like the baroness is unfaithful.

This caused some serious controversy among the surroundings.

In the end count Valemont sent the child to one of his separate estate in order to forget about it. As they say.

Out of sight, out of mind.

You might be wondering if it's the story of the villainess.

Well... about that...

It's me it's my story.

Turns out having this godly energy alters your appearance to some degree. In my case since i have inherited the legacy of some sort of rabbit goddess, my hair became white and my eyes turned out red. And you know that rest.

I became abandoned by my new parents. great start, in a new life.

Well anyway that's what i could tell. It not like i can understand this world language. I just know it through the guide.

The "Guide" is a book that i can summon at will.

It shows me information i want to know while recording information i write in it. Pretty handy in a world without tech.

Of course the guide can not show me everything. I once asked it how to attain immortality, just a funny experiment. And sure enough it can not show me that.

So yeah, that was all for my new life.

.

"Urgh, this bread is so hard." I complained. But no one here to listen to it.

It's been five years since i was born in to this world.

The rumors along the years of me being cursed child just got amplified over time. Which i don't understand why.

Colors in the hair and the eyes aren't common but it isn't unheard. the upper nobles all have this trait due to their high magic and pure bloodline. So why are people scared of me?

Honestly i don't know.

And honestly i don't care.

I have always been a monk type person. I don't stress about what i don't control. It's a central motto of mine.

It's just the negligence here is a little too obvious.

It's not like people bully me or anything. It's just they are for some reason afraid of me?

I don't know what is it that is driving them as to not even dare to cook food for a five year old.

"Sigh looks like i need to cook food for my self very soon." I couldn't help but shake my head.

I focused on eating my food for now.

After dinner i went to the library to read some books. There are some interesting journals in the library here.

.

"Hey have you heard? The third young miss is at the library again."

"I know right. That is so scary."

Two maids whispered to each other.

"What are you talking about?" Another maid chimed in.

"Oh, you are the new maid right? Do you know about the third young miss?"

"Uh, yes i have heard about it. She is the cursed child of Valemont right?"

"Yes, that one."

"But why is she called the cursed child?" The new maid asked with interest.

"You don't know? That thing has cursed eyes and hair. When she was born she didn't cry even a single bit. And she learns thing too fast."

"But wouldn't quick learning make her a prodigy?" The new maid tilted her head.

"That would be the case. But her learnign speed is too fast. I heard she learned reading and writting at just one year of age."

Hearing a child learning to read and write at only one years of age the new maid shuddered.

"And not just that. She can shower, wash her cloths and even doesn't dirty her room. She is scarily disciplined and cold for a child."

The more the new maid heard the more she shuddered.

"I even heard that she once said something to a servant. And that servant went insane the next day. He sold all his possession and became a beggar the next day."

"Stop, stop stop. These are too scary. Let's not talk about this." The new maid pleaded.

"Guide" i called out. "Show time."

The guide appeared in front of me.

It was a crude looking book. As it floated on front of me it show me the time.

10:13

"Yawn, it's already time for bed."

I stood up closing the book i was reading. "Lets go to sleep."

I exited the library yawning intending to go back to my bedroom.

"hm?" as i was walking down the hall. i felt some one following me.

Turning around, there was no one here.

maybe i am just hallucinating. better get some quality sleep.

i made it to my room. after brushing and taking a bath i went to sleep.

The next day,

when i woke up i received a message from a maid.

Apparently the priest would show up to bless the family today.

in this world ocationaly priests are called to measure your magic powers. i know this cause i have seen my elder siblings be measured like this.

guess it is finally my turn measure my magic power.

I got ready farly quickly and made my way towards the main mansion. The place i live in is the guest mansion. Although it's not as big as the main one it is still comfortable for the minimal me.

When i reached the main hall of the mansion i was met with my family members. My two elder brothers my indifferent father and my mother holding the hand of another brother.

"Good morning, father." I greeted.

Father nodded.

"Heh, look who's back. It's the creep." One of my brother commented.

"Hello dear, brother." I greeted. And as expected, he seems annoyed that i didn't mind his insult.

It's not an insult if you don't receive it. Wise words if you ask me.

"You..."

"That's enough." My father interrupted. I know why he did so. The priest would be here soon. So he doesn't want to create a bad impression.

As expected. He made my brother stop his banter. We were taken to the main guest hall where we usually take guests.

The atmosphere was somewhat lively. Since along with me my little brother will be measured for magic as well.

What, you think they would be here just to see my magic measurement. No of course my measurement would be conveniently taken when the priest comes for my brother. They wouldn't go the extra miles to call a priest just for me.

In the lively hall i sat composed.

My brothers did try to give some remarks but i shut them down with ignorance.

Finally, the priest arrived. My father and mother who are usually composed suddenly became very polite and friendly. Giving smile to the priest every chance they can.

'The temple really is very influential isn't it.' As far as i know the temple here works kind of like how a fascism works. You say something bad about the temple you get executed. And if anyone opposes that they also get executed. And no one questions this cause, you know "Gods will" or some something along that line.

The priest was given a royalty like treatment even though he is just a priest.

The priest took his time setting up what you call a magic measuring array. not gonna lie it's kinda mystical looking. Even though i am pretty sure most of it is decorations. I have read some book regarding magic measuring. And i am pretty sure most of this magic circle is useless.

When everything was done i stood there waiting for my brother to be done with his measurement first.

As he made his way towards the magic circle mother and father encouraged him.

The little boy approached the circle and stood in the middle of it. The priest stood in the opposite side of the circle. He moved his hands in a very elegant manner as he chanted.

Again, the hand movement isn't necessary here.

The circle lit up with an intense golden light. It was dazzling.

For the last time, it's just measuring magic. It isn't supposed to show this much light. The priest is clearly showing off.

I wonder if he ever thinks of the fact that people can detect his decorations. But then again he is a gods messenger, no one will question him.

When the light subsided the little boy was seen still standing in the center of the circle. The priest opened his eyes and said,

"He is very blessed. His magic capacity is that of a Beginner mage already."

Hearing this father and mothers smile grew.

"Great job."

"That's my boy."

They showered him with praise.

When i was entering the circle myself they were still praising him and talking about his future plans and such.

'You know, you shouldn't talk about future plans to children. Children don't understand it, not to mention it places unnecessary burden on their psyche.'

Well whatever it's not my business.

"Are you ready." The priest asked me.

"yes. I am." I answered concentrating.

You might be wondering what my magic would be.

*Whoosh!*

Well let me tell you the truth.

I have already measured my magic power.

The light enveloped me. And when it dispersed the priest had visible confusion on his face.

Why?

Simple because,

i don't have any magic.

.

When i got back i couldn't help but plop back to my bed. It was tiring. I had wait so much just because the priest couldn't figure out why i didn't have any magic.

In this world, every living being has magic. So Someone not abiding that rule is of course not very natural.

But here's the thing. I don't belong to this world.

'Now i understand why that rabbit goddess gave me a portion of her power.' If i didn't have it, i might not have the ability to survive in a world with magic.

'I might have died today if i didn't have it.'

As i sat comfortably on the bed suddenly a man covered in black appeared out of no where. Most probably using magic. He seem to have clear intentions to kill.

"I knew it. some one was really following me." I muttered.

The next moment the man suddenly paused in the air. He looked confused as he tried to struggled get out of my grip.

When he realized he couldn't he finally look my way.

"Yo, how's it going." I greeted him. "Looks like you are in a sticky situation."

"MM...hmmm!!!" I forgot about his mouth.

'Should i let him talk? He might scream.'

"Well whatever." I released the hold on his mouth.

It seems he isn't dumb enough to scream.

"What is this? You monster! What kind of witchery is this!!!"

I don't really blame him for being this scared. After all things like my divine energy doesn't require me to cast it like magic. So for a regular magic user it might seem weird.

"Who sent you?" I asked calmly.

"Huh?"

"I said, who sent you to kill me?" I applied some pressure on his neck.

"It... was the that brat.... that brat came to me and asked me for a favor." He uttered.

"Oh, which brat are you talking about?"

"The Valemont, brat... the Valemont brat!!!"

So one of my elder brothers.

"Did he also let you in the mansion territory."

"Yes, yes. It was him... please don't kill me..." My guy if you're gonna kill someone, then you should be prepared to get killed, you know.

"But why did he hire an assassin to kill me?" I became confused. I am sure none of my brothers stand to gain anything form my death. I am just an out cast in the famiy.

"He... he said something about you being annoying!"

Uh yeah, stupid people logic. I forgot my brothers are stupid. I shouldn't use logic with them.

'Now what do i do with this guy?...' I looked at the scared guy who was hanging in the air.

"Uh, that's it!" I got a very good idea.

I ran away from home.

My brothers sending assassins after me is one thing. But i still need to find the said person i am supposed to look after. So i think i would have a better time searching for the villainess rather then sitting at my home defending from assassins.

The assassin guy is also pretty sick too. he agreed to be my guardian over this journey. After all i am just an innocent five year old girl. How can i go to the a journey across nations to reach the villainess by myself.

His name is Ron. A thief around town who does petty crimes for a living. But he seems like a nice guy for a criminal. He was extremely polite to me while talking to me.

The guy even has a carriage. How convenient.

"Yo, Ron." I asked as i made myself comfortable in the shady wooden carriage.

"Ye...yes mam?" He replied with a shaky voice as he drove the carriage forward.

"Why do you do crimes?"

"Um...uuu..." Ron seemed pretty confused. Though he didn't dare to convey it.

"Come on don't be shy...just answer me."

"Um... to make... money...?" Ron seemed pretty torn himself.

"Ah, to make money." A classic. People making money in every way they can. Even if that means sacrificing your own peace. I can understand it for Ron, though. I mean he probably isn't very well off. So earning money through questionable methods still kinda justifies for him.

"Uuu...umm, mam?" Ron interrupted my train of thought.

"Yes?"

"Um... i have been meaning to ask, but...

Where are we going?"

"Uh, sorry about that. I forgot check where i am supposed to go."

"..."

Turns out the place i am supposed to go is called [[Aurelia]]. It is a kingdom to the north. According the book, i am supposed to find the viliainess there as a princess. So, she is the princess of this country called Aurelia, i suppose.

I told my plan to Ron, and he just did what i said without resistance. And so My journey to this new place started.
