Chapter 1 - The Lilac Town.

"...the weather in the southern-east region of the city has encountered a sudden change. As informed of the sunny day in the morning, unexpectedly, a storm has been predicted to hit the region within half an hour."

"The speed of gust is ceaselessly increasing, with it presently dilating between 28.5 m/s -32.6 m/s. This speed has been reported in the region neighbouring the sea."

"A warning has been issued after this unforeseen variation in the weather. The viewers and listeners, if had any plans to visit the seaside today or in upcoming days, are requested to refrain from visiting for safety assurance..."

The voice of the reporter faded in the background as the middle-aged lady reduced the volume. The month of November had begun just like the barely knitted sweater in the long needles lying abandoned on her lap.

The lady's fingers kept on rubbing against each other as a token of her unstoppable series of thoughts.

"It is strange," mumbled the lady. "This seaside is not prone to storms. The weather took a drastic turn out of nowhere. Honey, do you think someone might-" her voice putting forth her supposition was cut off bluntly by her husband. "I don't think so."

The lady's husband, sitting on the recliner nearby, inside the cosy living room of their modern mansion, fixed his spectacles on his nose as he put down the newspaper on the table.

He had been with his wife for several years, so how could he not know what she was thinking?

The middle-aged lady with strands of grey hair mixed in with her jet-black ones pursed her lips, implying displeasure before asking. "How could you be so sure?"

"The storm could be for any reason except for what you're thinking. That is absurd."

"What about our son? The university is not that far. Shall we call him back?"

"It's not that near as well. What's there to worry about? As long as he remains on campus, there won't be a problem. It shouldn't be something our son couldn't tackle."

"But still, what if things turned worse there? The sea storm is not something we could go against. It is nature that we are talking about." The female retaliated, visibly upset over her husband's lack of interest concerning their son.

Seeing the upset face of his beloved, the man sighed in surrender. "Alright, alright! Call him back if you are so worried. Though I doubt it is him that you should be worried about."

"Which part of my worry did you misinterpret for him?"

"..."

The Southern-East Region.

The Seaside.

The strong gale blew indignantly in the area and was assisted by the harrowing aeolian sounds. A swish of wind violently came from the direction of the ocean and swiftly passed the forest, tearing down vegetation.

The large amount of flora which was not strong enough to hold the ground against such a violent wind was already out from the roots.

At the same time, the constant sound of the splashing waves coming from the sea was no less than a terrifying lullaby!

The thundering of the clouds in the sky, like never before, was accompanied by a horrendous rainfall!

The water in the ocean crashed against each other, giving rise to the waves ambitious enough to hover one another as they aimed high to reach the sky.

Jillion tiny particles of sand brought up in the air gave away a subtle hint of the cruelty of nature, making the visibility near impossible!

Irony was, where on one hand wind was eager to bring the particles of sand up in the air, contrary to that were the vigorous waves hitting against the sand to leave enough water behind to make the bonds among the particles stronger, hence, the attachment to the ground.

What an intense competition was going on between the two elements of the earth: water and wind!

Such appalling deeds also led to the dreadful outturns though, bringing out the speculations as if the wind had blown in only after ensuing the blessings of devil to cause a praiseworthy destruction.

It was a horrible sight! A violent seastorm like this was the first time ever in this region!

This magnificent sea was lined right next to a long beach. It was away from the residential area, in a secluded place.

As a result of some magical grace, no one lived here otherwise searching the clues of mankind after facing this crazy storm would've been impossible.

During summers, this was the spot for the people to spend their vacations. Resorts and huts were constructed here to provide the servile accommodations.

These resorts worked seasonally, only during springs, summers and monsoons. In winters, the region was left isolated due to extreme coldness.

Hardly at a distance of ten kilometres rested a town, residents of where regularly came to the sea in spite of the cold weather. The reason being their indulgence in the occupation of selling fishes for their living.

It was impossible to reach the sea without crossing this beautiful town.

A huge bridge separated the southern-east region with the other part of the city. While the city offered the advanced, high-tech but contrived infrastructure built to the sky, this region put forward the natural essence of the earth that had stayed in its truest form.

The bridge, popularly known as the Woofits' Overpass opened to the road that acted as a vertex and lead to the sides which molded the geographical area to take up the shape of a triangle.

One of the two roads was, always, adroitly ignored keeping its final destination in mind which was nothing but years old cemetery.

Anyways, after sand, lush green forests touched the sea most intimately on all the remaining three sides. And located in the centre of this entire place was the Lilac Town which loyally serviced as the junction...as an articulation articulating the other part of the city with this place.

Because in the end, the metropolis and the Lilac town was within the radius of sixty-seventy kilometres, the central government adjoined it and rather divided the huge city into sub-regions.
