Xin Tingting carefully supported Liang Yi's body with caution until they reached her own bedchamber. Inside the room, warmth lingered, accompanied by a faint fragrance of dried flowers placed in a corner. The bed was made of fine wood, laid with a soft, clean white mattress, contrasting with a thick, warm blanket in a creamy white-yellow hue that gave a strangely comforting feeling. Beside the bed stood a tall wardrobe alongside a bookshelf filled with various colorful textbooks and picture books.
In the center of the bedchamber was a round table crafted from sparkling gems, accompanied by a pair of chairs finely carved from precious jewels that dazzled the eye. The entire room was surrounded by clear glass windows, pure as if they were drops of ice under the moonlight, reflecting a scene of exquisite splendor.
When Xin Tingting supported and carefully laid Liang Yi's weak body down on the bed, she moved with gentle caution as if afraid the girl in front of her was too fragile to bear any roughness.
The light filtering through the pale curtains cast soft shadows upon Liang Yi's sleeping face. Xin Tingting lowered herself to sit quietly on the floor beside the bed and tilted her head slightly as she gazed at her in silence.
"She is really beautiful… but I'm definitely a little prettier," Xin Tingting thought seriously, her big round eyes sparkling mischievously as she examined Liang Yi's face closely.
Then she stood up, smoothing her clothes, and briskly walked to the center table. In the calm silence, she picked up a beautifully patterned teacup and slowly poured tea into it, every movement full of softness and grace. She then turned and briskly returned to the bedside.
"Liang Yi, are you thirsty? Or did you faint because you're hungry?" Xin Tingting asked calmly while holding the teacup. Seeing that the other still lay motionless with closed eyes,
she put the cup back on the table as before, then walked over to the edge of the bed and pulled the thick white-yellow blanket up to cover Liang Yi's shoulders. Then she approached a book on the shelf and carefully took it out to read. The cover of the book was titled:
'Men's Six-Pack Abs.' Xin Tingting smiled sweetly with happiness, her eyes shining brightly as if it was her deepest dream.
She admired the strong and perfect physiques of men. Any man with a muscular, tight, and well-defined body, as if sculpted from stone with exquisite precision, she adored them all. She chuckled to herself for a long while...
"When will I grow up, I wonder? Then I'll be able to look for handsome men with six-pack abs, ooh~ I love the broad muscular chest of men the most. Not long now, I'll be a grown woman."
"Just over ten years... Eh, ten years! What should I do with that time? I know! I'll ask Grandpa to take me to travel across multiple universes. I'll bring Liang Yi along. We'll train and level up together. This idea sounds great."
Xin Tingting murmured to herself and unconsciously smiled. She put the book back in place and picked up another one instead. The cover read:
'Women's Etiquette.' Xin Tingting quickly flipped it open, blinking several times before muttering to herself again.
"Exactly! This is the best for me. Once Liang Yi recovers, I'll teach her the etiquette to use on men when she grows up. Ha ha!" Xin Tingting laughed excitedly and rapidly flipped through the pages with keen interest.
Suddenly, a faint sound of footsteps echoed softly, someone quietly approaching the door to her bedchamber. The steps were firm but unhurried, enough to make her pause her thoughts at that moment.
Xin Tingting startled slightly, then hurriedly hid the book behind her back in a flustered manner. A faint trace of panic showed on her face as she saw an elderly man slowly pushing the door open.
She stood up awkwardly, her clothes fluttering a little with the movement, her demeanor uneasy and unnatural.
"G-Grandpa, what are you doing here? I just helped Liang Yi lie down to rest. Wait until she regains consciousness, then I will hurry to inform you to come check on her later," Xin Tingting stammered almost incoherently.
"I didn't come to see you because of that. I have something important to tell you. If you're free now, come with me. I want to talk for a moment," the elderly man said calmly while his eyes glanced at the sweet-faced girl before him, her large round eyes only a few meters away.
"Huh! Grandpa has something to talk about with me? Can't it wait until tomorrow? Why the rush? Is it really important?" Xin Tingting's voice trembled nervously and oddly, making the old man suspicious as he noticed her slender white hand hiding something behind her back. He then asked,
"If it's not important, I wouldn't have come to tell you now. And what are you hiding behind your back? Why are you acting so strange?"
The elderly man raised his thick hand and stroked his beard gently.
"G-Grandpa, there's nothing. I'm just going to change my shoes for a moment. You wait outside here, alright? I'll be very quick, just a moment," Xin Tingting said in a fluctuating voice, then gave a small smile to the old man in front of her and slowly closed the door tightly.
Afterward, she hurriedly walked to put the book back on the shelf and let out a big sigh of relief.
That was close. If Grandpa had seen that book, it wouldn't have been good at all. Because in front of Grandpa, although she could be stubborn sometimes, she was polite and respectful when with elders. She didn't want him to know what she was hiding behind her back. Besides, it was a secret that really couldn't be revealed!
