I had changed out of my wedding gown into some sweats and a T-shirt.
Another creepy thing about the psychopath? He had clothes in my exact size in his closet. And yes, it was his closet because his repulsive scent clung to everything.
These were comfortable enough to run in and kick ass if I needed to.
I was going to get out of here. I was standing in front of the double doors that led outside, the ones Damiano had just gone through. My eyes never left the door in front of me. Any moment now they would swing open and I'll dart out as fast as I can.
I took deep breaths, gathering enough air in my lungs to sprint as fast as I could.
Just then, the door swung open. Before I could look at the woman with a tray in her hands, I darted out like the wind.
I also got caught like the wind. Before I could think, my legs were off the ground, and strong hands gripped my waist.
"Put me down".
The man did as I said, only that he put me down in the room, shutting the door. Leaving me and the older woman with the tray, she smiled warmly, yet looked like she was scared.
"Hey, you have to help me.
I need to get out of here, I was kidnapped", I could tell my words got a reaction out of her. Yet she didn't seem too bothered because she just walked over to where the couches were and left the tray on the center table.
I followed her.
"Just send out help, please. My name is Sibel Rooney. Just give my name to the police", I begged.
She didn't say a word, I'm fat t she did not acknowledge me.
When she was done, she went to the door. Knocked only a few times before they were opened.
Just when the door opened, the man from earlier came inside, blocking the door, and then I heard the door lock behind him.
"The boss said to make sure you eat", he said.
"Oh, how generous of him.
However, could I thank him for his generosity?" I said, turning over to the bed and collapsing.
"Ms Rooney.
Please eat something, I'll have a taste so you know it's not poisoned".
I sat up How did he know my last name? How much do these people know about me?
"How do you know my name?" I asked.
"It is my job to know your name, ma'am".
"Your job", I stated.
"Yes, I am your bodyguard.
You can call me Dave", he said, forcing a smile. He was not used to smiling.
I guess that was no surprise because he worked for Damiano.
"How does Damian know me?".
"Mr Damiano Gusto?" he asked, correcting me.
I nodded.
"He's known you for a long time, ma'am", was all he said.
I had a feeling I wasn't going to get much out of him in regards to how Damiano knows me, but I could get who he was.
"Fine, we'll eat", I said, leading the way over to the couch.
"Have a seat.
Or what? You're not allowed to sit?".
I could tell he was assessing the situation.
After a short while, he sat.
Then he took a bite of some fruit to show me it was safe.
Watching him eat the grape made me realize just how hungry I was, so I grabbed the bowl right after.
"You know you're aiding a kidnapping", I said between chewing.
I looked over at Dave, whose face looked like his suit. Plain, void of character, almost unapproachable.
"Who is he?" I asked, noticing he was not going to welcome my sarcasm.
"Damiano Gusto?" he asked, almost like he was shocked I didn't know who he was.
Was I supposed to know a jerk like that?
"He's the CEO of Golden Enterprise?" he asked again.
The enterprise was familiar, I just couldn't put my finger on it.
"I don't pay attention to…..news", I explained.
"All you need to know is he is an important person".
I went back to my food, the lunch was my favorite fruits and some broccoli salad.
I tried not to dwell on the fact that they were feeding me my favorite thing; I had already established that Damiano was a creep.
Instead, I made conversation with Dave, a very court and professional conversation. Trying my best to keep a fork for later.
"How was lunch with Dave?" Damiano said after he walked into the room. I was on the bed, trying my best not to fall asleep.
It was a stupid idea, I had dozed off twice, thankfully, I wasn't asleep when he walked in.
He was shrugging off his suit jacket on the couch when I sat up, and then he walked over to the bathroom, not shutting the door behind him.
I stood from the bed and walked over to where he placed his suit jacket, patting it down for a gun.
"You don't look that stupid", he said from behind me, catching me while my hands were in his suit pocket.
"It's normal for a prisoner to get desperate", I said.
"Sibel, you're not a prisoner", he said, taking steps towards me.
He looked a bit ruffled, like he had been running his hand through his hair, and he also looked tired.
Tired was good, I had been resting all day, and I could overpower him.
"The woman you kidnapped is not a prisoner?
Yet you have security stand outside the door and lock her inside", I asked.
"Dinner?" he asked, completely ignoring me.
"On the balcony?
I need a shower.
Don't do anything stupid", he said before turning around and entering the bathroom, this time shutting the door.
He spent a while in the shower. Which made me feel dirty because I hadn't taken a shower. Well, how could I think of showering when I was a hostage?
The maid from earlier and another woman came in to set the table on the balcony, It smelled delicious.
I went out to the balcony, finally being able to see the sky. It was already dark. I had been here all day.
The stars were so visible from here, I could tell his house wasn't in the city.
I wonder how the wedding went down. Did everyone think I just bolted?
Probably, my mom wouldn't be surprised.
Neither would Angela.
But Logan, I couldn't imagine how he was feeling if he thought that. He would blame himself.
I hoped he didn't, that he somehow figured out that I had been kidnapped.
Maybe he had reported it to the police?
"Beautiful view?" I heard Damiano say.
How could a man's voice irk me this much?
It was infuriating how he talked like he wasn't a criminal. Maybe I would prefer if I had been locked up in a dungeon, it would make more sense.
"For a hostage's view, it's wonderful", I said, not sparing him a glance.
"The stars look better when you're away from the city.
Everything looks better when they're away from the rest of the world", he was right next to me now leaning on the railing just like I did.
I could almost forget about the circumstances just then, feeling the cool evening breeze, and watching the stars.
"Let's eat", he said shortly after.
I turned around to him.
He was pulling out a seat for me, and I rolled my eyes, then walked over to the other chair to take a seat.
"Never took you for feisty", he said as he took a seat.
He was in grey sweats and a T-shirt, the outfit made it even more obvious that he could snap my neck and probably a couple of my bones.
His hair was still damp, falling on his face. To most, this view was probably a turn-on, but I just couldn't get past the fact that this man was nuts. Whether he was hot or not, he was most likely a psychopath.
An obnoxious psychopath.
"Well, until now, you never kidnapped me before", I pointed out, reaching for grapes.
He was pouring himself some juice.
"Touché", he said. Like I hadn't just referred to the fact that he was my kidnapper.
My interactions with him were starting to feel more and more like a fever dream.
He spoke like I was imagining everything, like I had dreamt of being kidnapped and *I* was the one being difficult.
Like he hadn't just plucked me out of my life on a whim.
I was slowly losing my appetite.
"Dave told me you had some questions, you could ask me those questions", he said, before taking a big gulp of his juice.
I watched him lick his button lip, making my face go sour.
"Well, I would like to know why you kidnapped me", I said matter-of-factly.
"You've asked that already", he pointed out.
"Dave told me you're the CEO of some enterprise.
You're supposed to be smart, yet here you are risking your reputation and life by kidnapping me.
I'm sure my family is looking for me by now".
He chuckled, chuckled.
Like I was spouting out nonsense.
"Your family believes you just left Logan at the altar.
I'm sure not many of them are surprised you decided not to marry that scrawny little man".
He was cutting his meat now, so properly and perfectly, barely making sounds with his cutlery.
"You're not scrawny, yet you have to kidnap women to get them to stay?
Maybe you have some yunno, challenges", I said poking fun.
I couldn't be the only angry one at this table.
"Curious about what you think I'm lacking, Sibel? All you need to do is ask", he said after chewing a mouthful, taunting me with a smug look on his face.
"I'd rather jump off this balcony".
"Be my guest.
You'll either break too many bones, meaning you won't be able to even attempt escaping for months, or a guard will catch you.
Either way, you'll be here".
He was enjoying this, enjoying his food, enjoying having me as a prisoner.
He irked me, he was just a shallow, rich man who thought he could get whatever he wanted. Including me.
He's gonna find out he can't get everything, not this time.
I didn't know when I pulled on the tablecloth, allowing everything on the table to fall.
I grabbed a butter knife, holding it under the table before he could see.
"You have to stop acting out at some point", he said.
I could tell he was visibly angry; the side of his lip twitched briefly, but long enough for me to notice.
I smirked.
I was getting under his skin.
"You can't have me".
"Want to bet?" he said, standing up, he was trying to intimidate me.
I was not backing down, I'm gonna cut him, even if I get hurt in the process.
He walked over to me, dropping down to my level.
The familiar taste of bile at the back of my tongue.
I was snarling at him; he was on one knee, staring me down like I was going to fold because of it.
My grip on the knife tightened.
"Calm the fuck down", he threatened. I could tell his patience was running thin.
"You might be able to keep me here.
But you won't tell me what to do", I retorted.
I wanted to stab him just then.
I got my right hand from under the table, targeting his neck.
He held my hand just when it was inches away.
"You've tried to hurt me twice since you got here, despite you being unharmed.
Is that fair?".
"You drugged me", I snarled.
"Yet you are completely unharmed.
I could have done much worse", the familiar grip he had around my wrist made my skin burn up.
"You kidnapped me, against my will.
And I'm supposed to what?
Thank you?", I asked. I moved an inch closer, and I could feel his warm breath fanning me.
"Let me go, or I'll make your life hell".
"You are not in the position to make threats, Sibel.
You aren't", he said dismissively.
Before I could say anything back, he was up, releasing my wrist and walking back into the room.
I stood up and followed him into the room, he was by the liquor again.
Maybe his psychosis was due to alcohol.
"I'm guessing you're in more of a position to make threats, seeing as you have the power to kidnap someone?" I was standing with my hands crossed.
"I'm not making threats or demanding anything from you, am I?" Yes, yes, he wasn't lying.
However, that made me even more agitated, not knowing what he was truly aiming at.
"What do you really want?" I asked, defeated.
"You", he said.
He started walking towards me, drink in hand.
I didn't flinch or move back.
He was just barely a foot away from me now, our eyes locked.
This time, I didn't see anger or annoyance in his grey eyes. I saw something else, only I didn't know what it was.
"I just want you".
He tucked my hair behind my ear, his action causing my brain to fog.
Why was I standing still? He was touching me.
Yet all I could feel was his warmth when he cupped my cheek, using his thumb to draw circles on my skin.
I felt heat rush to my face.
"I've wanted you since I first saw you.
I just want you, only you".
There wasn't any hint of deception in what he just said, not in his voice or his eyes.
He wasn't lying.
I blinked, trying to clear the fog in my brain, wishing I to think straight.
I shook off any feeling of understanding I had for this man. He kidnapped me, drugged me, and locked me up in here.
There was no way I was going to look past that, no matter how genuine he sounded.
I took a step back.
Leaving his palm without a cheek to touch.
"You can't have me.
You'll never have me", I said, then walked to the bathroom, shutting the door behind me.
